The cast stabilizes and protects the break, allowing the bones to reset correctly. The pain will dissipate over time. Drugs as needed, elevation, time and rest help with the pain.

I hope we solidify a time to meet this week and that they hire me 🤗 my current server job sucks money wise, a fraction of what normal serving jobs is, and the manager is a douchebag, besides being rude and breath stank, he didn’t pay me twice last week claiming bank closed and being behind on dough... I finally got my back owed money last night but he acted like it was a favor and could fire me at whimsy.

I work for a very large company, privately held, and one time. several years ago, they messed up my commission check and it took a month and a half to get the money I was owed.  My general manager acted the same way, like he was doing me the favor.........you'd have thought he had to pay for that large error out of his own pocket, the way he was pushing me off week after week.  I think he just kept forgetting to do the paperwork for the adjustment and kept missing the payroll deadline, but still, if I had owed the company money, you can bet it would have been taken care of stat!

If they say you need a cast, you need a cast.  I have had a broken foot where I had an air cast.  I had a broken arm that was a hairline fracture and I just used a sling cast.  But if the break is bad, a cast is needed (not a doctor, but that's what I learned from when my mom broke BOTH HER WRISTS!).

Broken bones are painful. I actually think my spiral fracture was one of the worst physical pain I’ve ever had cuz not only did it snap but was snapped/twisted into two different directions so my arm was like limp spaghetti and nerves and muscles screaming. 

I don’t know why I’m getting sad reacts, I’m excited and hopeful I score this interview. My cars broke, I’m broke. So what I’ll build again.

Thanks, Preverts, one and all for your most excellent and appreciated birthday wishes.  I love you guys, simple as that.  I've never been on a board with so many smart, compassionate and wickedly funny people as all of you.  Snaporaz, I remember very well that when that benighted recast started, doing his first interminable monologue about himself, floating around town after Noah parked on his head and got the back wheels stuck in his nostrils that you were the first to be visibly unimpressed by the Nose that Ate Wisconsin.   And things have gotten no better....

BUT, thanks to you all and your posts, this forum is my favorite place to visit each day and you all make my day.

My birthday was nice - quiet, which I like, with good food and friends and a little healty gossip about family members behaving badly (but quite funnily), topped off with my favorite Judy Holliday movie, "The Solid Gold Cadillac" to end the night.  

Thank you all for your birthday wishes and most of all, for being the best preverts in the whole world wide interwebby thing!

Don't mess around with a fracture, Peaches. Have your wrist set correctly and casted by the Orthopedist.

I'm with you, Peaches. Every time I hear Big Crosby sing White Christmas, I want to wallop people with a bag of oranges.

Once the Christmas music starts before Halloween, I go on a moratorium of Jiggle Bells-holiday Muzak until December 24th, then I pull out my own 48 Hour Yule Log recording and let'er rip.

We have a sister station that drops their Adult Contemporary lineup and broadcasts Christmas music for 75 days <shudder>, but I try to keep the rest of my division reigned in on holiday creep until 16 days before Christmas, then they can go nutz.

We have a Certifiable/Crazy Scale when graphing our family members. Mostly we shrug at any outbreaks of bedlam and have another Tom and Jerry … Heavy on the Tom. We only act when crockery or furniture is broken.

I'm still a little weirded out after our holiday. Airports, waiting for Death, working remotely, a funeral, a birthday party and Christmas at Bea's. We flew out Saturday night after several weather-related cancelations. Mom, Dad and Gramma are staying with Bea; supervising the new orchard manager and helping out. 

I am happy to be back home and the office. Customers gifted me fruit/muffin/meat/cheese/booze baskets. Everything but the booze went to office personnel; I'm in mourning, and need the solace of alcohol -- I'm home early from work, washing machine and dryer working hard, sipping a cup of rooibos, watching the spinners and bubble lights on my Christmas tree … Wee!

Melvin's in a tizzy from the disruption of December. He's back from kitty boarding kare, mildly sedated and grumbling to himself in his kennel …

-- Nobody loves me. Everybody hates me.

-- Yup. That's why you're regularly fed, watered, groomed, fussed over, vaccinated and sedated when in a state. Take a seat on the Certifiable/Crazy Scale.

my grandmother always took to her bed for a week the day after christmas. it was crazy, they used to put up the tree and do all the decorating, toy assembly, wrapping, etc. on christmas eve. no wonder she was utterly wiped. of course she had live in help so she could do shit like that. when my mom and aunt would point that out, she would say "well, you girls have dishwashers!" yeah, gran, that's the same, when they both worked full time and did all the same stuff she, a stay at home mom used to do.

I had live-in help this year for ThanksChristmas with Nana Stunt and Alice living with us for fire season. I couldn't have done it without them with 33 guests (14 were evacuation refugees).

Nana Stunt reserved a table at the club for dinner and dancing (Big Band). Mani/pedi yesterday, hair done today. Time to slap on the war paint.

Happy New Year my lovelies. I am beyond thrilled the holidays are over as I hate forced family togetherness. I am currently at my mom’s but will be back tomorrow to hang out with Steve. I’ll be working Thursday which I’m kind of dreading. Working only 20-21 hrs a week and taking a $100 pay cut is not motivating me to travel over 3 hrs a day to commute to work. Anyhoo, I hope you are all well and didn’t go to crazy on the champagne or in my case Prosecco.

I don't really get why you would have to wait for a cast. The whole concept is that the cast will help set the fracture.  It is usually done immediately.  Can you push back on this?

Bannana's right. Your wrist should have been set/cast the same day you broke it.

You need to have this tended to before next Monday. You don't want to end up in surgery to rebreak what has mended over the week+ you've been waiting. If you can't get this taken care of through your doctor's office, please go to the emergency room.

Aww, thank you, boes!  No apologies necessary.  My birthday was the 17th of December, but I kept it low-key.  Turning 38 loses its pizzazz when you do it 14 years in a row.  Thank you all for the good wishes!  They're even better now!

Nobody understands your aversion to doctors better than I do, but you really should listen to the wise advice of our Preverted friends.  Remember when they saved your toe from being amputated from gangrene after you stepped on a piece of glass and thought cleaning it with Neosporin (or was it Windex?) would be good enough?

It looks like I’ll have 2 server job interviews for next week. 🤗🤞🏼 Besides the pay being very bad at my current place (low checks and low scale place which gives the vibe people can be cheap, lots of teens or early 20-somethings dining in who don’t tip) we do a LOT of cleaning and side work, tha manager’s a douchebag and there open to close every day being high strung and nagging, some of the servers come to work coked out or tweaking and get all paranoid and run around spilling shit or ramming into me or bursting into tears or rambling emotional bs. Can’t wait to get the fck out.

i'm supposed to get my cast on mon. the holidays are not a good time to crash and burn, so far the windex and mr. clean magic eraser are holding the arm together very well. i don't know where you guys got your medical degrees but my doctors at the clorox coporation assure me that with just a few more sessions with a swiffer should do the trick.
