Chris Colfer/Kurt Hummel

Oh, I know that. Just, if I was his agent, that's what I'd be trying to set up for him...some choice supporting roles where he can be a scene stealer.

Agreed. I've actually said the same some time ago, during one of our regular round of specs about the post-Glee career options. I felt he'd be best served if he can hook up with interesting indie directors and do as you say choice supporting / character actor roles. I had in mind the Hollywood situation, and was later pleasantly surprised with the Noel announcement but the project is still non-HW and indie. Anyway, he personally has affinity for fairy tale and Disney type movies, and has said he's trying to develop their stuff, so it'd be interesting (and encouraging in terms of his career) if anything comes out of that.

Excerpt:

Ryan Murphy is developing a lot of shows, from American Horror Story to Scream Queens . Would you consider working with him again on a series?
I probably would not because my involvement with any of those shows would just seem like a Glee reunion [laughs], rather than an exciting, new project. I'm kind of just looking forward to different exciting things.

So you won't be guesting with Lea Michele on Scream Queens.
[Laughs] I don't think so. That might be a little too on the nose!

I'm sure the context of the answer is also about Ryan's current shows that he has on or are in development, and about jumping from one RM show into another. But yeah, it can also be taken as a firm No Way easily. Though Chris said he'll never write a Glee episode, and that changed. For now, it's certain he's had about enough of Glee for the next dozen years, and he mentioned last year how his next 5 years seem pretty well mapped out or something. It will be certainly interesting to see if he ever reunites with Ryan, or with any of his Glee costars. Ditto the rest of the Glee cast apart from Lea.

After having his character's independent storylines pretty much eliminated over the past three years (the very things that seemed to mean the most to Chris), I would be completely understandable why Chris wouldn't be too eager to join in another Ryan Murphy project. At least for the immediate future. That was about as diplomatically stated a "no way in hell" that I've seen in a long time.

While I would normally say "never say never'", I think that Chris has ample reason to be very soured on Ryan Murphy and to not trust him. And It sounds like he's got enough other television producers that want to work with him so passing on Ryan Murphy for the foreseeable future won't hurt him professionally.

Didn't Duchovny and Gillian use to hate each other's guts?

No. People assumed that they hated other because, despite their onscreen chemistry, they weren't super close friends. They were more colleagues who liked and respected each other, but people were a bit disappointed they weren't BFFs in real life or something as well.

For all we know Naya and Chris will be cast in a Ryan Murphy sitcom in a few years...LOL.

With Dianna too!

I think David has said something to the effect that there wasn't any love lost at some point, but I wasn't in the fandom at all. I think they were also specs (tinhatting?) that they were together. Anything goes, as always.

A Ryan Murphy sitcom starring Naya, Chris and Dianna. I would be so into that. The eyecandy alone.

A reboot of Three's Company with zany antics galore? RM may get inspired by The Odd Couple reboot... (I'm assuming that's doing well enough?)

I think DD said jokingly very recently that they couldn't stand each other at times on the series, like siblings or something, but they're definitely on friendly terms and it's all good. I'm sure ypthey got along well enough while doing their jobs...in very damp situations for the first few years.

And Matt too!!!

I think that would shock me the most. LOL

Not really, no. At least, I never read anything about it.

Of course, given Murphy's track record, they'd have to reboot the show itself each year as well ;) One year they're living in New York and all work for the same magazine. Year two they're all living in Miami in unrelated jobs. Year three they're in Chicago and Chris and Dianna's characters are siblings. Etc...

I'd love to see Chris (and others who can do comedy) guest on a show like Veep. Just to branch out, and try a different style of comedy.

A very, very funny episode of Hot in Cleeveland, with Chris front and center. And how nice is it to have a show that appreciates his talents and didn't shy away from having him sing a lot.

The high points:

Chris singing Danny Boy with Carol Burnett

"Tony" being a seriously bad actor when he's not singing (as in Darren Criss trying to do drama levels of bad)

Tons of shade being thrown, including at Glee (with Tony reminding his mother that the reason that he's such a good singer is because he endured six years of Glee club).

The whole performance with Chris, Bettie White and Carol Burnett.

Worth staying up for.

I don't even see it as some huge shade because well it was the truth he was in glee for 6 longs years even done with exasperation from the character.  The exasperation worked on two levels with his mom for not knowing he sang and for the show.  The joke could have been framed and would have worked with any long term stint any actor was known for tbh.

But good for Chris he looked like he was having fun and I know I would have been soaking up working with  Carol and Betty.    Always thought Carol not getting to work with the kids on glee was  disappointing.

Jut the thought of Sue's  getting jealous of Rachel and Kurt singing and dancing with her mom would have been a better reason of her wanting to take down glee club one more time than anything else they did.

It was nice to see Chris having a chance to sing live on a show, and do it as well as anyone on Glee did doing live vocals. Chris's singing was so underutilized that it's nearly criminal. I would happily hock my left kidney for a proper recording of him singing Danny Boy (which is a gorgeous song and matched beautifully by Chris's voice).

And that big performance scene with Betty and Carol (with Chris as the straight man)... I'm still watching it and chuckling. It was genuinely funny without the cruelty that so often leached into Glee's particular brand of humor.

Yeah, typical fourth-wall joke in multi-camera sitcom / live theatre. Apparently Finding Neverland has an anachronistic Cheers joke because of Kelsey, to get the audience laughing.

and comedic timing terrible

I won't say it was his crowning achievement but you lost me there. He was sufficiently broad in his key moments like the bad actor and the play performance, and butted out of the ladies' spotlight in the rest. From what little I saw of the show even before he did his stints, it's just very unfunny.

This is the kind of shit that Chris Colfer has to put up with.

Darren makes a "joke" in his Hedwig show , something to the effect that It's his Sarah Jessica "Parka" to his Chris Col (FUR) .

Yes, I know it was suppose to be a play on words , a word funny.  Yes, I know Darren claims they are good friends.    However I don't think at this point it's rocket science or a secret that Chris Colfer does not like ANYTHING to encourage the crazies in any way shape or form.    Chris avoids this kind of thing studiously.   So of course Darren pulls this association out of thin air in his show just because.

Yea right.

The apologists of course are going to say that Darren make a similar joke about the composer Menken and "merkin."  It's not the same thing.

Darren clearly knows Chris has  issues with the stuff (he's even stated as much to others)  and just doesn't give a shit.  Just an asshole move.

Again, I feel bad for Chris Colfer that he gets dogged by this sort of stuff and even  by the one person who is more than aware how much it bothers/annoys him.   Again what an asshole move.

It was sort of obvious before, but the Klaine bts interview made it perfectly clear that Chris and Darren haven't been on the same page about the superinvested Klainers (to which delusional extreme the tinhatters belong). It's not a secret either which one of them has played up to these fans and why he continues to do so. Chris will survive but I'm sure he could do without the added social media harrassment.

We finally have a production date for Chris "Noel" biopic:

UNTITLED NOEL COWARD BIOPIC - August 10, 2015 - UK; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: The untold story of how a boy called Noel Coward became a legendary playwright, charting his early life and the people that shaped the man and his work.

As of forever , I need to see  Chris in Edwardian clothes porn.

Great that we have a start date. The impression I'm getting is that this is going to be a much larger production that probably originally conceived and it being a historical project means that they need more time to get things like costumes and locations in order. The director just tweeted the other day about hearing the draft of the score, so things are definitely moving along and they've gotten all their ducks in a row.

The timing works well for Chris - he gets his book tour done and had time to relax and do some writing. Initial filming will probably run through all of August and into September (and can work around the event that Chris has lined up in NYC in September). That gives them the fall and early winter for post-production and lets the production team plenty of time to get ready for Cannes. Hopefully after the summer, we'll get a release date in the US.
