  1. Ryan Murphy is leaving Fox for Netflix, with a massive deal. http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/ryan-murphy-netflix-deal-fox-fx-1202699152/
  2. I saw Alyona's husband (not a coach as far as I am aware) congratulating Bruno very warmly. I was very happy for her (and Bruno) to get the OGM, and with a great performance. Ironically, Robin Szolkowy is one of Tarasova /Morozov's coaches and was sitting with them in the K&C.
  3. Quote, "The announcement was wisely delayed until after the ACS Versace promo blitz, which kept interviewers focused on the main subject without any gossipy distraction and allowed DC to enjoy the positive reviews he got for his performance, especially from reviewers who received screeners." The unbolded is the rationale per your source which even a two year old can see from miles away.. The bolded he never said or implied. Why it is tacked on as his reasoning, I have no idea. There's no causality of "allowing" at work, certainly not based on sourcing. Nothing stops him from reading and enjoying his reviews while munching on a bagel, hiring his wedding planner, or posting an instagram. The only effect of this arbitrary correlation is to paint him as a self-involved asshole or low functioning person. This is quite unfortunate , since he's neither in my view.
  4. When this blew up, I thought for a moment that he was just trafficking material for cash rather than engaging in it. Not that it would've made it better or he couldn't have done both, but I was so shocked. The material as described in some articles is so graphic and inhumane, it's beyond my comprehension how someone would be involved in that, in whatever way. The cast and crew are surely conflicted and want to remember the good, but I winced when Iqbal tweeted how good he was with Iqbal's kids. But I get that it's so hard for them to reconcile the guy they knew with the guy who really was, and they dissociate. Correction: some of them. IIRC Naya said at the time she wasn't that surprised. Back during the first 13, I didn't think Finchel set the world on fire exactly. Sweet Caroline in Mash-Up made me perk up at the bad boy-good girl possibilities with Puck-- but in true Glee fashion this was over in one episode. I thought they had good chemistry. Now in hindsight, it's a bit of a relief.
  5. I wish I knew what his fiancee thinks about an observation that implies he couldn't have read said reviews, nor enjoyed them, unless he put off his engagement announcement for weeks.
  6. Sounds legit because this is an old CCer tactic. But they could also be from the other group of Klainer ladies (and maybe some gay guys) who really believed or found it convenient to believe that Darren is a closeted gay. They dabbled in some wink-wink tinhatting for lolz but didn't lose their grip on reality. They just H-hated his girlfriend and constantly bashed her. Their conspiracy was about her and his management as the forces of evil, rather than Ryan / Fox. They also claimed to be lgbt+ themselves, but mostly the +.
  7. Good for Darren and Mia. I thought the CrissColfer crays have moved on but obviously was too optimistic. I don't see anything in the article or his instagram to suggest he took a time out for the purpose of review enjoyment.
  8. I just rolled my eyes when Bibi asked Val to take care of April. Maybe it would play better if Keke Palmer wasn't so bad in this role.
  9. In case you thought I was saying it's literally Glee, I failed to be sufficiently tongue-in-cheek. I had in mind similar narrative elements from the trailer: Teacher takes over a lackluster theatre department. Football player(s) somehow join in. Teacher may clash with football coach / principal / parents / other teachers. Main girl may be involved with the jock. There may be a closeted / gay kid(s) and / or coming out stories. The style and treatment is very FNL (good!) which isn't surprising with Katims at the helm. FNL was also based on a non-fiction book. But it seems to mine the same thematic field as Glee, small-town kids' dreams and arts in school.
  10. Glee is on NBC this coming March, only it's called Rise and is about the school theatre kids. "Rise is an upcoming American drama television series created by Jason Katims and Jeffrey Seller based on the book Drama High by Michael Sokolove. When dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor, "How I Met Your Mother") sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school's lackluster theater department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students, but the entire working-class town. Inspired by a true story. Will Schuester, they're coming for you! I know Katims from My So-Called Life and Friday Night Lights. Trailer for Rise here, it feels very FNL.
  11. Amber is performing with her two co-stars at the Royal Variety Performance (Nov. 24) http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a841980/royal-variety-2017-miranda-hart-louis-tomlinson-james-blunt-tokio-myers/ The three of them are also putting out an album. ‘This album is by women for women – and any man who wants to buy it,’ says Amber. ‘We are three very different ladies with very different life experiences. We are different ages, different shapes and from different ethnic backgrounds but we all love music and that has bonded us. The album is full of emotion, full of joy and, we hope, a bit of old-fashioned glamour.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-5044033/Meet-Diva-dream-team.html
  12. Trailer for Dianna's movie Hollow the Land opening next month. http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/hollow-in-the-land/o
  13. Mark Salling pleads guilty to child pornography possession, faces up to 7 years in prison http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/mark-salling-pleads-guilty-child-pornography-possession-article-1.3541347
  14. The movie Blake Jenner wrote and acts in - now called Juvenile - is screening at the San Diego Film Festival, and Blake is getting a Rising Star award there. Glee casting director Robert Ulrich is producing, and Brad Buecker is directing. Melissa Benoist is also in the movie but doesn't sound likely she'll have any hand now in promoting it. Some interesting detail how the movie was financed and made in this article, incl. Buecker's total revamp of the movie: "Once shot, they screened it for months and, after listening to the input, did more shooting in 2015. In 2016, they were ready to send it to festivals, but Buecker had other ideas. “Brad decided to re-imagine it and, from scratch, he cut an entirely different movie – because he’s a genius,” Ulrich said. “We suddenly felt like we had a whole other movie. The film went from focusing solely on the linear story of Billy to being more about grief, the processing of grief and how life isn’t always, in fact, so linear. It’s also when the name changed because it became more than just about the lead character. This version is much more stylized.” And speaking of Glee people branching into other roles, Ulrich and Blake's brother have formed a production company and have other projects in the works. http://www.modbee.com/entertainment/movies-news-reviews/article174734516.html
  15. Dianna is also going to direct in a feature (iirc she's done one or more shorts before): "Love is in the air for Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley and Jim Sturgess. The trio have joined the cast of Berlin, I Love You, which marks the latest film in the Cities of Love anthology series launched by Emmanuel Benbihy that already has tackled tales of romance in Paris and New York. Written by Neil La Bute and David Vernon, Berlin, I Love You segments are being directed by Fernando Eimbcke, Dennis Gansel, Massy Tadjedin, Peter Chelsom, Til Schweiger, Justin Franklin, Dani Levy and Dianna Agron. Josef Rusnak will helm the transition sequence that ties all the episodes together." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/keira-knightley-helen-mirren-join-berlin-i-love-you-tiff-2017-1036882
