fakeempress March 19, 2015 Share March 19, 2015 (edited) I love how he's been talking about Cory recently. I also loved that he mentioned Freaks and Geeks. Edited March 19, 2015 by fakeempress Link to comment
phoenixrising March 19, 2015 Share March 19, 2015 The Cory comment was sweet. And thanks Chris, for pointing out that there were other gay couples before Klaine. I mean, I guess it deserves some credit (I credit it for being mainstream), but he's smart enough to know there were gay people on TV before Glee. 1 Link to comment
caracas1914 March 20, 2015 Author Share March 20, 2015 Chris also breifly mentioned he's got projects and opportunities upcoming; we know there is at least one acting project in a movie lined up after "Noel". Also I'm guessing some more screenwriting projects. Link to comment
SmithW6079 March 20, 2015 Share March 20, 2015 Kurt and Chris Colfer were part of the reason I stopped watching "Glee." I couldn't stand St. Kurt and how he could do no wrong. Also, Blaine was way out of his league. I just pictured Kurt as the bitter old queen sitting at the end of the bar being bitchy to the young gays. Link to comment
caracas1914 March 20, 2015 Author Share March 20, 2015 Moving ahead, it was interesting to read that Chris has lived with fame and not being able to leave the house without being recognized since 2009 at the ripe old age of 19. Talk about interesting chapters at the start of his memoirs of life. Link to comment
fakeempress March 20, 2015 Share March 20, 2015 I guess his ambition to get his other projects off the ground helped him during the culture shock and the adjustment to fame. People (Bieber comes to mind) sometimes spin out of control when they hit the big time early in their career. Link to comment

But maybe you stopped before Blaine got ridiculous. I've liked Kurt at points, but I have always found Kurt's holier-than-thou attitude really off-putting. And Glee does seem to use his character as the gay mouthpiece a lot, and it does sometimes come across that only gay guy problems are real problems. Link to comment
caracas1914 March 20, 2015 Author Share March 20, 2015 What's funny is I always thought it might have made more sense for Kurt to have cheated in Season 4, while still out of character, but more plausible as a new world had opened up to him in the Big Apple with guys, the fashion world, etc. Link to comment
caracas1914 March 20, 2015 Author Share March 20, 2015 From same EW interview: I’m knocking on wood right now as I’m talking on the phone, but I have so many opportunities and things that are coming up for me and I owe it all to Glee. I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for it and I get really scared when I think about an alternate universe where Glee didn’t exist because there’s no way I would’ve made such a difference, or there’s no way I would’ve been given any material that affected so many lives. It turned me into a role model, which was a very, very hard thing to embrace and accept at the time. It was the beginning of a great book, but a great chapter nonetheless. Link to comment
caracas1914 March 23, 2015 Author Share March 23, 2015 Anyways there are PAPS photo of Chris and his BF Will and their respective families vacationing in Paris , seen at the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, etc. I realize it's just a random coincidence, but it's funny to me that he's there while that Glee convention is going on at the same time. 2 Link to comment

Myrna123 March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 Has that jacket been pinned for altering or is that what it looked like when he put it on? If that was tailored based simply on measurements and not an actual fitting, it sure looks fantastic. I love a man's suit that's hemmed to the absolute perfect spot. Link to comment
Hana Chan March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 It looks like it's being fitted - I think that you can see in the mirror reflection someone pinching the back in so that it lays properly. It's a bit of a challenge to do this right, as suits from that period aren't cut as close to the body as modern suits are, but they also don't want it to just be hanging off Chris. You want it to be period appropriate without really looking totally strange to modern tastes. Fortunately Chris has the kind of body - good shoulders, itty bitty waist and apparently zero body fat - that will let him wear the old fashioned layers and heavy material without looking like he's being swallowed up by it. Am thinking that he really needs a hat... 1 Link to comment
fakeempress March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 (edited) Glee was good for him in getting used to act wearing unusual costumes. I also think he can pull off period looks (because of Kurt's pompadour my mind typically goes to the 50's.) I don't think he'll have problems with looking anachronistic unlike let's say Keira Knightley did as Elizabeth Bennett. Edited March 27, 2015 by fakeempress Link to comment
caracas1914 March 27, 2015 Author Share March 27, 2015 Really, did you think it was Keira's physical appearance? I don't recall thinking she looked all that different than say, Rosamond Pike, who played Jane in the movie. However it's been awhile since I saw that movie. Link to comment
fakeempress March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 I think Keira has a very modern look, which I think was deliberately accentuated in her P&P. I'm not a fan of the 2005 movie in general. In contrast, Jennifer Ehle is great for these period looks, not only in the 1995 P&P but also in the half-baked movie adaptation of Possession (fantastic book btw). Link to comment
Hana Chan March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 Period films are hard to do properly because on one hand, you want to give that impression of historical accuracy but fashions of these periods can be seen as awkward or even unattractive by modern audiences. I did American Civil War reenacting for nearly 20 years now (don't laugh) and I have a lot of knowledge about clothing from the period and how it's supposed to fit and look. Basically, for women, everything is meant to have the waist look as tiny as possible. So you have hats and hairstyles that tend to make the face look broader, dresses with drop shoulders and wide upper arms (to make them appear bigger) and a big hoop skirt. Hats with ribbons are tied directly under the chin (and not to the side the way Scarlet was portrayed in Gone With the Wind). But because that would look unattractive to a modern eye (that wants slender upper bodies above the wide skirt, the clothing is usually inaccurate. I spend an awful lot of time watching movies set in this period playing fashion critic. The good thing about Chris is that he's got a face and body that can easily slip into a wide range of historical period pieces. I would love to see him do something where he could wear a Napoleonic-era military uniform or get him onto Game of Thrones. And if they manage to squeeze out another Tolkien movie, get him as an elf. caracas1914 March 28, 2015 Author Share March 28, 2015 Chris gave a great anecdote of Polly Bergen at her Tribute in NY ( via video) "I had the absolute pleasure and privilege of working with Polly on a little movie called 'Struck by Lightning'. She's my first and only choice to play my grandmother. And I remember the first time that I ever met Polly, we went to go talk to her about the movie and our meeting was only supposed to last for 15 minutes. And I ended up staying with her for 3 and 1/2 hours. I knew she would always be one of my dearest friends. I only fell in love with her more when we were filming the movie, because she was one of the biggest smartasses I had ever met in my whole life. She just harassed the crew and the crew never even got upset when she would tease them. It was an honor. I remember this one time we were doing this one take and her phone kept buzzing. And it kept buzzing and buzzing. And she kept looking at it and sighing and she'd hit the silent button. And finally I said 'Polly, who is calling you?' and she said 'Nancy Reagan'. And I said 'What? Nancy Reagan is calling you?' and she goes 'Yeah, Nancy keeps forgetting that we weren't that close. We're just old enough to have the same memories.' Kindred souls and all. 3 Link to comment
caracas1914 April 1, 2015 Author Share April 1, 2015 Chris is certainly leaving Glee without missing a step as far as working. Filming an episode of "Hot in Cleveland" (6.20) , then off to film "Noel" in England, then back most likely for a book tour for the July 7 release of his latest Land of Stories issue, then another round of book tours for the October release of an illustrated book and a couple of adjunct books to the Land of Stories Universe. indeed April 1, 2015 Share April 1, 2015 I figured they'd bring him back for at least one more episode of HIC, since it is the last season. I would've liked another appearance on Hollywood Game Night, though, too. Oh well. Maybe he'll go on Jimmy Fallon again in the summer and play a game then. Link to comment
Hana Chan April 1, 2015 Share April 1, 2015 I'm sure that Chris will be making the talk show rounds this summer when he's promoting the next Land of Stories edition. He always hits Ellen and Jimmy Fallon when he's doing the PR tour. Of course, I think that once the Noel Coward film finished production and we get a release date that he'll be doing some pretty heavy promotion for the film in both England and the US. He's not going to disappear from the public eye anytime soon. Link to comment
indeed April 1, 2015 Share April 1, 2015 Well, yes, but not every talk show has him playing silly games, so that's what I want to see--an opportunity for CC to have some fun. A lot of the times, he's just saying the same things to different people (because they ask him the same questions). I wonder if he'll pop up on Kevin's UK show--you would think there's a good chance of that, but I don't know about the timing...or, um, quality. ;) Link to comment

indeed April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 Fans are clamoring for CC to be cast as live-action adult Christopher Robin and/or live-action Pinocchio. He's probably just as perfect for them (maybe more so CR--he may be a bit too old for Pinocchio, except he can still look about 15 in some recent pics) as he was for Peter Pan, so naturally, he probably won't seriously be a contender for either. caracas1914 April 9, 2015 Author Share April 9, 2015 If it's the young "wants to be a real boy" Pinnochio Disney is looking for Chris is probably too old for that , and he's lost the rosy cheeked look he had from Season One. However one of the producers of GRIMM has said he sees Chris as an adult EVIL Pinnochio. The adult Christopher Robin does make a lot more sense, because dang it, Now I can't get the image out of my head. LOL. Link to comment

Interesting. On one hand, I doubt he will be on Disney's short-list even if I think he is a great fit for an idea of the adult CR (as we have no clue what the script will call for). On the other, he has mentioned he's trying to get some Disney properties to develop, and this recent onslaught of them turning their animation into live-action makes me think he may have wanted to get in on something like that. He may still be considered too tied to gay Kurt and TV for Disney to cast him, and their first pick will probably be the young movie roster people, of the Emma Watson type. I'd like to be proven wrong though. Edited April 9, 2015 by fakeempress Link to comment
