  1. This show is such silly fun. I love how Tina is not desperate for any boy anywhere any how to pay attention to her. She was totally willing to go with the flow of opportunity with Jordan and his (bad) kissing, but it's not like she was desperate for him (nor was she surprised that he would be interested in her). Such a role model, our Tina. And I love the subtle message to good girls everywhere: bad boys are bad kissers. The sight gag of Jordan smooshing together Tina's nose and mouth to (bad) kiss was gold and yet another reason why I love the animation here.
  2. I, too, love Gaffigan's stand-up--I love how silly he is, but part of the humor is that you don't actually think he's the horrible lout he says he is. I'm not sure why they lit on a show where he's just acting out in a totally literal way all of the examples of what an exaggeratedly horrible person he says he is in his stand up. His stand-up wouldn't actually be very funny if you thought he really did just sit on a couch while his harried wife raced after five children and all he can do is ask her to bring him a sandwich.
  3. That may be, but I'd bet the author of every single book or series you've actually heard of would consider being on the list "huge."
  4. There's no mixed message. In a red carpet sound bite after gay marriage initiatives first started gaining steam, Colfer was asked about gay marriage and he said something to the effect of marriage had never been something he thought would be a possibility for him, but lately he was starting to think maybe he'd like a ring on his finger someday. Hardly some gushing evidence of how desperately he wants to get married. The mixed message meme is simply an idea perpetuated by those who are shocked and dismayed by Colfer's refusal to live his life according to the bizarre fantasy that he would ever be attracted to Darren Criss in real life.
  5. Agreed! I don't understand how the entertainment paradigm we've lit on these days--both in scripted and reality tv--is to show how vile and outrageous people can be rather than how awesome. Thank goodness for Humans of New York.
  6. And also, what/who/where is HMQ?
  7. Donald glover, kid cudi, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan gosling, Andy samberg, drake, Zooey dechanel, Kevin bacon, viggo mortensen, Hugh Hackman, Justin timberlake, Farhan ankh tar, jack black, Jared Leto, Jason schwatzman, Mia wasikowska, Robert pattison...Interestingly, if you google "multitalented young Hollywood actors" Darren Criss never seems to be a result. If a tree falls in the woods and nobody sees it, does it make a sound?
  8. If only Internet boards were there for David Cassidy, Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, Scott Baio, Kirk Cameron...
  9. But are they as dreamy as the dreamiest dreamboat that ever dreamed about a boat? I bet not.
  10. Not word for word, but there's general rending of garments and gnashing of teeth whenever someone has to audacity to suggest Lea Michele is not the best and brightest and best. And also the best. And a comment was made suggesting Darren's fans somehow stan him more mightily than any of the rest of us stan who we stan, and I was refuting that point.
  11. Well, to be fair, everybody's stans do that. Lea is the most perfect dew drop ever to gently land upon the petal of a flower, Chris was practically kept locked in a dungeon and mercilessly and violently tortured every single day of his life until he heroically escaped through sheer will and determination and landed himself on a tv show. It's just the way the fame-world goes.
  12. I bet if you'd led with the part about Darren playing harmonica no one would have refuted that he is a talent for the ages. Bow down lesser performers. Bow down! I don't think he's quite as stupendously astonishingly, heart-stoppingly, mind blowingly, jaw-droppingly amazing as some are making him either. I don't think he's going to hurt for employment or anything, but I don't think he needs to clear off a mantle for all the shiny trophies he's going to collect either.
  13. Then don't stand up in front of all of your friends and family (and God if you believe) and promise to be monogamous. If you promise (publicly or privately) not to have sex with other people and then you have sex with other people, you're a feckless, cowardly asshole (male or female). If you want to have sex with more than one partner, own up to it and do it. Everyone in a relationship deserves to be in the relationship they think they're in and if they think they're in a monogamous relationship and their partner isn't being monogomous, well, see feckless, coward and asshole. I agree in this particular situation that Phil was overwhelmed and steamrolled by Carol--and also he thought they were the only two humans left so he wasn't really sacrificing anything as far as he knew. At least he's now confronted the situation and ended the marriage since it's not what he wants.
  14. I think Carol has been shown to be odd enough that a last man on Earth scenario might have been her only opportunity for a passing shot at wedded bliss. She takes quirky up to 11 and then way past that. She's got this sweet and nurturing side to her, but that's offset by a very narrow, judgmental, rigid set of acceptable behaviors that seem to cause most people to very, very slowly back away from her without making any sudden movements. It was unnecessarily hurtful of Phil to publicly remind Carol that their marriage was a really dumb idea that Phil should have simply refused. In the first few eps, I could chalk up Carol's behavior to craving the rules of society, but now I think Carol's just one of those really weird people you wouldn't acknowledge after the first bizarre encounter you had with her. Just like Phil's assholiness does not seem to have been majorly impacted by almost the entire Earth's population dying out, neither has Carol's social awkwardness. I imagine a world full of people was very difficult for Carol to navigate because she's so off-putting and odd.
