How do you think she reacted when she found out Oliver was engaged to Felicity?

It’s been a hard year for Cupid! There was definitely some grieving, but I think she’s made peace with the fact that they’re not meant to be together right now. I don’t know that she’s given up hope forever, but I think in this angst that she’s in, she kind of sees them as the perfect example. If it’s going to work for anyone, it’s going to work for them. As far as the rest of Starling City is concerned, they are the happily ever after, they’re the fairy-tale couple. She’s not feeling a lot of hope right now, but we’ll see.

I like the talk about Oliver and Felicity as a happily ever after/fairy-tale couple, because we know so little about how Star City views them. Interested to see if that will be explored in tonight's episode.

It's a bit weird because the article starts with an introduction saying

So you can imagine her reaction to new news that her former obsession Oliver McQueen (Stephen Amell) is about to marry Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).

... No. Cupid had a massive thing for the Arrow, this makes it seem like she'll be targetting them because of jealousy. So in light of that the answer first read as if their engagement was a factor in her bad year. I actually needed to re-read it to make sense of it.

Wait does Cupid even know that Oliver is/was the Arrow/Green Arrow?  One of the promo's made it sound like she had no clue that the Arrow and Green Arrow were one in the same and even less clue that Arrow/GA = Oliver Queen.

She didn't know when we last saw her. Hopefully there's an explanation for that and it's not a plot hole.

I think that was a mistake on the part of the interviewer, and that Amy Gumenick just answered as best as she could without contradicting them. She talked about grieving -  theoretically Deadshot - but about Oliver she just said she made peace with them not being destined to be together. I think she just switched automatically on "Cupid is over the Arrow".

Anyways, the fact that it's celebrity couples she's targeting is another proof that tonight's episode is actually titled "Those crazy shippers".

How they can talk about the abduction without mentioning Merlyn is beyond me. Of course they would all be accomplices, still. This trial will be more laughable than Moira's.

This is what happens when the prosecutor spends more time running around in leather than prepping her case, LOL!   Although, I think she'll still pull off a win with some legal mumbo-jumbo later in the episode. I mean, they still can't be treating lawyer Laurel as utterly useless, can they?

WHAT evidence of kidnapping does she even have tho? The kid and the BM scrammed. Everyone who witnessed the fight with DD was a masked superhero. Is Laurel gonna have them testify wearing masks? OMG is she gonna testify herself? How does that work?

This show's idea of law & order is so wack.

That sneak peek is hilarious. I know in some way they are going to put Darhk in jail but what did she think it was going to happen? Darhk saying "yes, it's me, please put me in jail?" She didn't even prove the identity of the person she accused during the investigation. How does that even work? Doesn't the police have to confirm the ID when they make an arrest? LOL. I also wonder what the people in the jury will think about Oliver's kid and baby mama disappearing..I'd wonder about that..

I'm going to start a petition to get Guggie's BUSL diploma revoked. He's an embarrassment as an attorney even more than as a showrunner.

I can't watch the video at work: is it now public info that Oliver has a baby mama and kid? That's a bummer, bc the ONE good thing out of all that was that at least Felicity wasn't publicly humiliated, as it didn't seem anyone, even the cops(?) knew the kid was Oliver's.

anyone else get the feeling they're just dumping this shit at the last minute?

Less than 8 hours before the episode airs after 4 weeks of almost radio silence (with the exception of the Overwatch poster)? What makes you say that? :P

I already started cringing. YAY?

ETA: It doesn't seem like it picks up after a month has passed, since Felicity is telling the Team they are not engaged anymore just now.

I liked the angst in the producer preview. Yes what caused the angst was stupid but now with the stupid out in the open I can enjoy angst. Stupid angst is not fun but Oliver is there fully present as drama is unfolding. This is what I want for Oliver. Fingers cross this turns out well though.

I was tempted to break my vow and watch the sneak peek ~ but now you all make it sound so sad, I might as well wait the extra 7 hrs or so to be heartbroken all at once.

Yeah, that was heart-wrenching. I wanted to give both of them a hug. But kudos to Stephen and Emily on that scene--even when the situation is awkward as hell, they knock those kind of scenes out of the park. This one is no exception.

OUCH.

That's the kind of angst I wanted though. That is GOOD angst. Heartbreaking.

MY BODY IS READY.

From the producer's preview, I'm now worried that by the end of the episode, Felicity is going to decide she needs a break from the team.

And that tvline preview... I might have to stock up on some wine for tonight.

Looking at the sneak peek of Oliver/Felicity post breakup in the loft, I thought it was a nice touch on EBR's acting that she was jabbing herself with her pen around the spot where Oliver was shot (first time he actually let her in on his secrets and let her know that he was the Arrow)...seems kinda poetically ironic I guess that they broke up because he didn't let her in.

After watching that awkward video clip of Felicity packing, I'm starting to wonder if they'll get back together this season at all.

Incidentally, about that video clip of the beginning of Darhk's trial, I noticed that the woman sitting next to Laurel (presumably a fellow ADA) is a blonde female with glasses and pulled back hair. I wonder if that was intentional.

This sneak peak actually dealt with the emotional aftermath of something that happened in the previous episode? I think that's the first time it ever happens on the show. The fact that the episode was written by newbies is at the same time depressing and encouraging. Depressing  because seasoned writers never bothered to ever give us that kind of aftermath. They always skip the important emotional beats. Encouraging because it means someone on the staff actually knows how to write human emotions/reactions.

I got the opposite impression. Like, they'll get over (most of) the awkwardness by this episode.

I think he was so heartbroken in that moment he didn't remember a team existed, LOL

I think by tonight he thought she meant tonight at home, not tonight at the lair.

Both very likely =)

At work and haven't had a chance to watch.  Can you provide some details as to why you think this?  Apparently twitter thinks it as well.

I'm interested in why people think this as well. Unless she has difficulty actually working with Oliver (which she could, I guess), she seems eager to get right back into the thick of things as far as Arrowing goes.

With the disclaimer that I'm a bit of an alarmist by nature, it's a combination of WM saying "[Felicity] loves being on the team but how do you work with someone you just broke up with, who has broken your heart and whose heart you have broken?" and the clip of Oliver reassuring Felicity that she's a part of the team, forever and always, presumably at the beginning of the episode. I can't really explain why I think it won't end well except that episodes tend to disprove whatever idea that was set at the beginning.

And the interview EBR gave before 415 about Felicity finding a new purpose/project after regaining the ability to walk.

I didn't get the impression that she'll leave but then maybe that's because I don't want her to leave the team. I don't want her separated from the main story with the rest of the team. Saying that, Curtis is in the lair in 417 so it's entirely possible that she does leave for some space but it only ends up being one or two episodes.

It's kind of a contradiction to her saying in 401 that she likes what they do because it gives her life purpose though. Who knows?

The producer's preview shows Team Arrow in the Arrowcave and Felicity keeps making these little remarks - for example, when Quentin refers to Cupid's message of "Love is dead", Felicity says something like "maybe she's not so insane after all."  Felicity also says, "Love betrayed her and now she wants to go to war against it."  Thea asks if that makes sense and Felicity answers, "Makes sense to me."  And Oliver gives her a look and says "okay" (in a kinda 'stop already' tone). WM says that Cupid's journey in a way mirrors that of Oliver & Felicity. Felicity tells the team that she and Oliver are no longer engaged and that she doesn't want to talk about it.  WM says that the whole team has to deal with this issue.  WM also says that this whole episode is framed around the idea of Felicity trying to stay on the team - "she loves being on the team, but how do you work with someone you just broke up with, who's broken your heart, and whose heart you've broken"?

I don't see how Felicity could quit the team completely.  No one else on the team has her skill set, so they need her.  She even helped Team Arrowless remotely when she was away with Oliver for 5 months.

Also, that TVInsider interview with AG seems to indicate that in this episode, Oliver & Felicity will come to some conclusions.  On whether the wedding ruse will reignite the old Olicity heat, AG said: “I think that this episode in particular has a pretty profound effect on where they are, in terms of their relationship and their thoughts on love... They kind of come to some fun, big self-discoveries.”  Since it seems too soon for them to reunite, I'm kinda dreading what kind of conclusions they'll reach.

I wouldn't be surprised if Felicity steps away a little bit and gets a little space from Team Arrow - especially if the team's grand plan post breakup is a fake wedding mission - I really wouldn't blame her, but I am guessing she might devote a little less time to Team Arrow, but not fully break away.  I think EBR had mentioned that Felicity might want to do something that is unrelated to PalmerTech and Team Arrow...so maybe this is her way of getting some space from everything and doing something for herself to heal.
