Salacious Kitty Sunday at 05:04 AM Share Sunday at 05:04 AM Goff's nightmare game just put more pressure on the defense. Pressure they couldn't withstand. Carey Sunday at 05:09 AM Share Sunday at 05:09 AM If there's any consolation, the last time Washington won a Super Bowl, they knocked off Detroit to get there. Also, the Lions crushed Dallas at some point in that same season. In addition, Buffalo is still alive in the postseason. I'd prefer that repeat in terms of NFL history over a couple other things. Bastet Sunday at 07:07 AM Share Sunday at 07:07 AM I don't hate the Commanders as much as I should for a division rival, but goddamn. I root for the hapless Lions going back to the Barry Sanders days, so enjoy their success and really looked forward to a victory here. Good grief. I don't anticipate the Rams getting past the Eagles (of course, I thought they'd go down in flames in the Wild Card, so I could be pleasantly surprised again, but I don't think so), so I - as a Giants fan, who almost always roots for whatever NFC team makes the Super Bowl - am quite possibly going to see an Eagles-Commanders championship game?! Carey Sunday at 02:55 PM Share Sunday at 02:55 PM To be honest, I sorta had a mild grin when that "I'll see you in 2 weeks" thing resurfaced (someone joking that Dan Campbell meant Cancun or the golf course). I agree with Bastet in that I don't think the Rams are getting past the Eagles. Sure they won against Minnesota in a tough spot within a tough time, but West to East with though conditions is not cool. To be fair, I don't know if Los Angeles will keep it close. I think they can (to the point where the outright upset takes place). I think back to the Harbaugh Era 49ers where went into a more severe place in terms of weather, and won the game. With Sean McVay running the team I don't think the cold weather phases the Rams. If they lose, it'll be more due to playing a much better team. Not saying it's a factor, but unlike Miami (and IMO similar to San Francisco earlier last decade), that culture is one where they're not using weather as an excuse. Carey Sunday at 03:44 PM Share Sunday at 03:44 PM It's only one year but as bluegirl147 mentioned, it feels like reverse Karma or whatever with Washington rolling in a big way immediately after Dan Snyder's exit. Though I think there were a ton of horrible people within that organization, but "the buck" stopped with him. Plus, and in my opinion, that era is what can happen when a fan (using a very emotional one) takes over a team. If he's not that qualified on a winning level then that's a problem. At least with Kraft the opposite can be the case, but I think going forward whenever they're an ownership change we'll only see ownership groups as opposite to one dude that tops everything else. As for Tom Brady, I don't see him announcing until the end of the current CBA either, but I'd still give it North of a 50% (up to 75-80 percent) chance that he's calling games until & including the 2028 season. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3173-nfl-thread/page/584/#findComment-8558491

But I was so in on the Lions this year, I just can't. Completely disheartened. While I wouldn't root for a team within my division, I might end up doing just that. Typically it's due to the players on the team. FWIW, my team signed Mike Vick once upon a time. It can go both ways. Root for a team, not a player, OR root against a team but for a player within that team. Probably helps if your team is total garbage, but at the end of the day, I'm rooting for a good game. I don't know if that'll happen for Rams/Eagles, but I think we're definitely getting a great game to wrap up Divisional Round Week with the Bills & Ravens. BTW (and something I've thought of quite a bit), I think the league can move toward dropping (or changing) the name of this week's postseason. Sorta silly to call this the Divisional playoffs when most teams now play during Wild Card weekend (which at this point isn't that great of a name for the NFL postseason). It feels like the league is stopping at nothing to have a guy & an NFL franchise trump the dynasty that preceded it. It's vexatious to be honest; the NFL would love to have the Chiefs finish as a better, more epic dynasty than the Patriots. That may be due to the antics of the latter, which FWIW, was enabled by? The NFL themselves! 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/3173-nfl-thread/page/584/#findComment-8559337
