Yeah, I get it, but you don't pay someone as well-known as Brady a bazillion dollars and put him on the D team.

But why pay Brady a bazillion dollars?  It's not like he has a dedicated fan base that would tune in just because of him.  Fox overestimated what they thought they were getting with him.  They thought he would be a prize jewel or something.  I remember a lot of us here predicting he wouldn't be good in the booth.  Brady is used to being the one being talked about not the one talking about someone else.  It was never going to be a good fit.

To our NFL fans here that are in & around the LA area...how are you doing today?  I hope you are all well.

Thank you.  We're used to wildfires (and even that there's no more fire season, it's a year-round threat), but this is beyond; the scope of physical destruction is hard enough to take in, and how many aspects of life will be changed for many years to come threatens to shut down the mind.  Even for those of us - like me - whose families, pets, and homes are safe, this has been a stressful time (a "Where next?" worry keeping people close to home) and remains an unspeakably sad one -- I literally don't know a single person thus far who doesn't know someone who has suffered a loss.

If this was a football city, the Rams victory would have been HUGE.  We're not, but it was still a nice distraction for those of us who could get lost it in for an evening.  (I finally left my house for more than a grocery run, to watch with my parents at their house.)

Going into the playoffs, I was 90% sure we'd lose, and 50% sure it would be a decisive loss.  I didn't think any "Win one for L.A." motivation once the fires took over would have an effect.  To instead get a dominant win was quite the pleasant surprise.

(Against the Eagles, I think the Rams will go down hard.  That will bum me out on two levels - the Eagles being a division rival of my first and foremost team the Giants - but I had no hopes whatsoever of reaching the playoffs as the season began, so to reach let alone win the Wild Card round means I can't complain.)

I can’t root for the Rams, but I have no problem rooting for the Eagles to lose.

I don't like the Rams. Never have no matter what city they are in.  I understand your not wanting to root for the Eagles. I don't mind the Eagles.  If they win fine if they lose oh well I will just root for another NFC team because I fear it's going to come down KC or Baltimore.  And I cannot and will not root for either one of those teams.  So go Buffalo.

I didn't need to look that up to say that the time slot stat is totally false.  Wildcard round? Of course.  However, today's match-up is a playoff rematch from 5 years ago.  Almost on the same date, except the league pushed the postseason back a week.

Houston definitely had a Sunday game at Arrowhead in 2020.  I remember since I won big that day amidst a game where Houston went from blowing out Kansas City to getting blown out.  24-0 lead, before allowing 50+ points.

Kansas City's return to the AFC Championship Game has them within one of New England's 2010s streak.

The Chiefs have been the 1 seed 4 times in the past 7 seasons & that has resulted in being the NFL's Final 3.  Every game has been played at Arrowhead Stadium FWIW over the past seven years save for last year.

Someone elsewhere said that the winner of the other AFC game will roll over the Chiefs.  Eh, we'll see.  Winning the game?  It's very possible, but no surprise if KC was bored & looking ahead to the AFC Title Game.  Or the fact that it's cold & they haven't played in over 3 weeks.

I got it at Chiefs -8.5.  While that's no fun for me it's not a big deal.  The pick ATS was almost as difficult to select from than the Bills/Ravens (which went from Buffalo -1.5 to Baltimore -1.5)

Based on a lot of the action late & in the postseason (both in the NFL and in College), people paid the price for going against the favorites.  Basically the favorites covered almost 100% of the time

It's no secret that everyone (save for Marley & at least one or two people) dislikes the Chiefs (or they're simply not a fan of that team).  I personally do not hate them, period.  Am I a fan of theirs?  Nope.  TBH, their run puts a smile on my face for the most part because the fans around the Boston area cannot stand that dynasty from the middle part of the country.  Not too thrilled since both dynasties are similar.  Plus it's rather annoying that the current league dynasty started before the one that preceded it ended.

At the end of the day, it is still just a game.  I can see KC losing as much as winning one week from Sunday.  After all, San Francisco couldn't get it done 3.5 decades ago, so it's not going to be easy.  If they win their next two games, and both take place before March, then there will be a lot of unhappy people.  Not sure how I'll feel.  I think I'll be fine; however...

...That would require turning the TV off when Nick Wright shows up on it.  I can tolerate Kelce, but the other guy.  No thank you.  Act like you've been there before.  TBH, I'll agree to disagree about the ref stuff.  There are a lot of horrible teams in the league to where they'd lose anyway if the games were called better.

I don’t hate the Chiefs.  🤷🏻‍♀️  I do hate that infernal tomahawk chop, though, and the NFL’s blatant endorsement of it.

I was watching without sound, anyone know why, at the beginning of the game, when that special teams guy took his helmet off on the field, did he shove his coach?

Unlike the Vikings and Niners, Washington will have the benefit of an extra day's rest.  I'm not sure it'll matter if it's Eagles hosting them.  It'll be a total gut punch or whatever if somehow Washington were to struggle in a big way at Lincoln Financial.  They did beat them there earlier.  Took some fortune, and it does help they have a HC with Super Bowl experience.  Both very good and very bad, but he's been there

I feel like Brady's qualities that made him great as a QB make him a bad announcer. As a QB he was known for how calm and methodical he was. Down 20 in the 4th quarter? There'd be no panic.

But he has a similarly robotic quality in the booth. You need someone to show some emotion and personality.

Nobody left in the NFC I care about.

You know why I want Mahomes to 3peat?

Because Brady never did.

I don't think there's anyone in the AFC either that a care about.  Maybe Buffalo; no one really moved the needle in terms of rooting interest.  And yes, that included my hometown team.

I sorta would root for Mahomes to go four in a row since that might actually wreck the souls of Bills fans.  Since I can't have nice things, they'll fall off in 2025, and then win in 2026 when ESPN gets the Big Game for the first time.

Aw good for Washington but I feel bad for Detroit & their fans. They were doing so well this season. Hopefully next year they can figure it out.

 Commanders 45 - Lions 31

4 turnovers & a major blunder having 12 men on the field on a 4th down play will definitely lead to a Playoff loss. Its going to be a miserable offseason for the Lions & it'll probably won't get much better for them next season.

Since the Commanders reached the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1991, take a wild guess on the only NFC team hasn't reached the NFC Championship Game in this century (21st)? They haven't been there in 29 yrs & it will certainly be 30 yrs this time next year. They was all over on ESPN all week on trying to get a certain coach from Colorado. They're still a bunch of losers. HA HA HA HA!!!
