This game is turning out almost like the one I played earlier on my MLB The Show 16 season.(I did the first 13 innings, then simulated to the end, winning 1-0 in 21.

And I just jinxed them.  Damn.

Rude.

Wow.  A game in under 3 hours at Fenway.  And we won!   Os and Nats won 1-0.

@jennifer6973, I'm not an Astros fan, but I think they said it was "dangerous" or something like that.  I like it , too, but maybe people were getting hurt because they weren't paying attention.

Can an Astros fan tell me why they are getting rid of Towel's Hill next year, I think it's unique and want to see the Nationals play it next year.

Tal's Hill. The players hate it + they're using the extra space to squeeze more fan accommodations in. I was hoping for a pool like Arizona has but its... something I can't remember.

So I jumped up and down so much after Hanley's homer that my dog freaked out and was running around like "what happened? earthquake? firecrackers??!?!?"  Hanley Ramirez: All or Nothing.  Here's hoping the next three games don't need a miraculous Sox comeback, although I should check my fitbit to see my energy spike after The Big Hit.

I was gonna root last night for the Yankees over my 2nd favorite AL east team (thanks to NKOTB), but then realized this morning that would put them close to first place, so not gonna happen.

Oh and if the Rays would just fail at playing ball, that would be great right about now.

Forget the rest of the Cubs, I just want to party with Joe Maddon.

My sister in Chicago (who pretty much has switched from Yankee fan to Cubbies fan) sent me this T-shirt for my birthday this summer:

If the Sox collapse I'll pull for the Cubs too.

Now perhaps mojoween and attica and others need to divert their eyes, but I've been busy and haven't read any post-game stuff. What in the HELL is Gary Sanchez reacting to behind the plate? He's got a catcher's glove on and is flinching like he's gonna get hit. And don't you love Betances twisting, head up expression?  Good stuff here.

I always find it interesting how some teams just seem to have another team's "number". For instance, Astros just finished the season run with the Rangers -- 19 games -- and went 4-15. Meanwhile, Astros have beaten the Angels 11-1, the latter of whom have gone 8-8 against the Rangers. Why can't we beat those damn Rangers? They're not THAT good.

I always find that interesting as well, kariyaki.  It applies to individual players, too.  You can have the best pitcher who is lights out with every other player in the majors, but there is always that one batter who hits him no matter what. What does he see that no one else does?  I love baseball.

Oh yeah, that actually happened with the Astros last night and the Mariners pitcher, Felix Hernandez. He's supposed to be really good but every time the Astros face him, they kick the shit out of him.

I always think back to Greg Maddux when talk like this comes up as he baffled a lot of hitters but was completely owned by Tony Gwynn (then again how many pitchers weren't.)  I once saw the two of them interviewed together and they had so much repect for each other.

Bob Uecker and Sandy Koufax (well, for ONE season anyways....)

Bummed that we lost Carrassco, but 10 scoreless innings from 8 relievers to win and drop the magic number to 7.  Go, Tribe!

It reminds me of a few years ago when the nine Astros relief pitchers no-hit the Yankees after the starter got hurt in warm up.  When they got back to the locker room, the Yankees had put a bottle of champagne in each pitcher's locker.

deGrom looks to be out for deYear. At least the new kids are keeping the Mets afloat, though you have to wonder if any of the original staff will be dealt. I think Gsellman might stay thanks to his long hair and name. If the team has looked into owning the concept of "Gazelle Man," I won't blame them.

Apparently there are sixty press members at Tebow's debut in the instructional league. If that guy was half as good a football or baseball player as he is self promoter he would be on a roster somewhere.

I mean, if say Big Papi goes on a farewell tour and this process is started all over again, my eyes are going to be rolling so hard I'll be able to simultaneously see my brain and my ass.

Yes I am quoting myself two years later because I'm starting to get a headache.

Every day EVERY DAY on ESPN radio I have to hear a promo where they are counting down to Ortiz's last at bat and with the tone of the promo they make it sound more like they are counting down to when his heart stops pumping and they turn off the machine.

I get it, Jeter haters.  I totally do.
