Kromm March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 I bet even the crabs are embarrassed to be on this show. On the women's team you can clearly see a few people who were specifically cast for incompetence, and a few specifically for being assholes. With the men, so far, I'm having too much trouble telling them apart (other than the guy with the icky beard) to really peg down who's the clear deadwood, who's the drama kings, and who the one or two actual contenders. 3 Link to comment

OlfinBedwere March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 T's definitely looking like the front-runner already. Won the challenge for the women pretty much single-handed, and was clearly the person in charge of things during their service. 3 Link to comment

I mean there's a fine line between being a tough, assertive chef (a good thing) and CROSSING that line to not having the people skills to get people to actually do what you want. Endgame, she may be a great cook and a piece of shit Chef, because a good Chef by definition needs to be able to get other people to do what they want. 2 Link to comment
joeyjoey March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 (edited) Two questions. This year's prize is head chef at Ramsay's restaurant at Caesers in Atlantic City. If I'm not mistaken, last year's prize was the same thing. So, what happened to last year's winner? Is it me or do you think that Andi has a 'Hot Chef' clause in her contract because the women, except for a couple or so, are getting uglier every year? If I'm not mistaken, last year's prize was the same thing. So, what happened to last year's winner? I Googled and LaTasha, last year's winner, started her new job there in December 2014. So.... I'm not sure what happened to her unless she's moving to a different restaurant of his. Or maybe she didn't cut it as a head chef? At any rate, if anyone finds out anything, please post it in the past winners thread.http://forums.previously.tv/topic/6218-where-are-they-now-former-contestants/#entry865163 1 Link to comment
Julia March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 Holy cow, is Brendan annoying. I'm not really bothered by T. I think she's take charge, but she can back it up. Monique, on the other hand, is all hat and no cattle, and her little speech about big people made me wish very hard that she was teamed with dainty little Elise from season 9. 3 Link to comment
cooksdelight March 11, 2015 Author Share March 11, 2015 Meghan and T are my two favorites. The men have no one that is showing any promise so far. 6 Link to comment
ElleryAnne March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 I like T so far, too. And Alison seems to be okay. On the men's team, Milly seems okay. (Of course, part of that may be editing. But when your competition is being given time-out at the children's table, anyone can look competent in comparison.) I got a kick out of him sticking up for Michael - not that Michael deserved it. Brendan and Cameron can go at any time. Very annoying, the both of them. On the women's team, Monique is still getting the worst edit, but there was a moment in there when she was commenting on one of the other women (maybe Mieka?) and I got the impression that she may be quite empathetic in RL. But I'm sure she'll continue to get the idiot-edit until she's gone, which she brought on herself the instant she decided to treat GR to processed tomato sauce in a signature dish. During the Hell's Kitchen:Survivor portion of the show, did anyone catch what was going to be done with the plates of food after the task was over? I didn't hear GR say, but I'm hoping they weren't just wasting all of that seafood. Since GR sampled every plate, I figure they weren't giving them to actual customers waiting anywhere, but I hope the cheftestants or production staff got to eat them. The camera still likes Sarah. They cut to her randomly at odd times just to show her expression. Link to comment
fishcakes March 11, 2015 Share March 11, 2015 Is it me or do you think that Andi has a 'Hot Chef' clause in her contract because the women, except for a couple or so, are getting uglier every year? I was just thinking this is a more attractive group of cheftestants than usual. It was only recently when we had Tiffany giving those, "I want to prove I'm more than just a good-looking woman" confessionals," but without the sad trombones of irony to accompany her. I do think the show is getting more boring though. Seven minutes of watching Gordon eat crab cakes is not my idea of riveting TV. 4 Link to comment

Donny Ketchum March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 (edited) How the hell did Brendan not go up for elimination? And for that matter, how did Ramsay not call him up? He sank his station just as much as Cameron did! Michael seems very lost, but he didn't really mess anything up till right before the men got thrown out of the kitchen. The men, like most seasons, are a mess. Brendan's not gonna last long, Michael is, again, lost and eventually will be shown the door, and Nick looked a bit lost when Ramsay called him out (which seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back for him). Randy, Milly, and perhaps Josh are the only three who look like they know what they're doing. The women definitely have their weak links other than Chrissa, and I do think we'll see some of them gone soon. Monique still needs to go, and now Mieka's showing up as an incompetent chef, too. Even her confessionals show her as such. Christine didn't seem to screw up this week, but I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop there. And Michelle might turn out not to be so good, either. Meghan, T, Sarah, and Alison seem like the only near-perfect chefs on their team. Good elimination, though. I had a feeling that Cameron would be gone if the men lost because being shown as acting like you're better than everyone else usually means you're about to get your ass handed to you. I guess I'll give him props that he admitted he wasn't as good as he'd once thought he was, though, after he was tossed. Brendan and Cameron can go at any time. Very annoying, the both of them. Cameron did go. Edited March 14, 2015 by Donny Ketchum 3 Link to comment

Kromm March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 (edited) Two questions. This year's prize is head chef at Ramsay's restaurant at Caesers in Atlantic City. If I'm not mistaken, last year's prize was the same thing. So, what happened to last year's winner? Are we sure it's the same restaurant? The way they tend to do it at those big casinos is that one company often wins the right to do several restaurants at the place and not just one (a typical large casino could have several formal upscale restaurants, 4 or 5 casual eateries (still in Ramsay's territory) and then fast food on top of that. But even if it is the same place, I believe the prize has actually been long established as one year. Rarely to never with the actual job title described, but a year later virtually all of Ramsay's little chickens have moved on. I think out of ALL the show's winners, maybe like 2 or 3 of them in total worked for the arranged employer (remember, it wasn't always Ramsay) more than that year, and I think only Christina Wilson actually got a real working Head and/or real Exec Chef's job, but AFTER that initial year, and at a totally different restaurant--Gordon Ramsay BurGR in the Vegas Planet Hollywood instead of Gordon Ramsay Steak at The Paris Casino in Vegas. Where she'd spent the previous year in some fake position (which might have also been called "Head Chef" but had none of the actual duties). I'm sure the last few winners (they all seem so recent due to seasons held in the can for so long then bunched up) quietly served their year (or are doing so now) and have or will likely simply move on. cooksdelight March 12, 2015 Author Share March 12, 2015 Ramsay only has the Gastro Pub at Caesars in Atlantic City, and last year's winner started there in December. So... as I said, if anyone gets any news, post it in the past winners thread. Link to comment
Kromm March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 Okay, this is confusing. If you listen to the intro in Episode 2 it DOES say "Caesar's Atlantic City" but it's DUBBED in. You can clearly hear the dubbing. Someone (from an earlier press release, I bet) put "Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood" on the Wikipedia page for the season. The combo of the obvious dub and that makes me think that maybe this last winner didn't even make the planned year (which again, is rarely the job described anyway). Link to comment

Kromm March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 (edited) Kromm, google her, she started working at Caeser's in Atlantic City in December. "Started" being the operative word. The dub I bet is over announcer guy actually saying "Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood". Because these early episodes were probably at the post-production stage by the time whatever happened happened (if something did, I mean). EDIT - Or not. This IS confusing. A clear dub like that usually indicates a production team under the gun. But La Tasha was tweeting (well, RE-tweeting) to promote the season as recently as Feb 27. Which frankly I don't think ANYONE would do if there was some kind of incident. On balance I think now it's far more likely they're building a second Ramsay restaurant at Caesar's and we simply don't know that than some complex conspiracy theory. Yes, there's a clear dub indicating a last minute change of plan by the show, but it could simply be because the decision was changed between Ramsay locations last minute. While it's unlikely that La Tasha will work for Ramsay more than a year (because so few do) and the same fake Head Chef job will be available NEXT December, that's kind of far away for a prize for someone winning a season ending (probably) some time in May. Jersey Guy 87 March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 Good elimination, though. I guess I'll give him props that he admitted he wasn't as good as he'd once thought he was, though, after he was tossed. Cameron did go. I was very surprised at how self-aware Cameron seemed after he was eliminated. He admitted he couldn't back up his talk and accepted he deserved to go home. Which is very unusual for an early boot. Brendan should have been nominated ahead of Michael, I wonder if the guys picked Michael to try and insure Cameron went home. And Ramsay didn't bother calling up Brendan because he figured he was giving Cameron the boot anyway. If so, well played by everyone on that. I've never really cared where the winner is supposed to work - it's not like they're getting the actual "head chef" job being offered anyway. 4 Link to comment
cooksdelight March 12, 2015 Author Share March 12, 2015 I cared recently, when a friend was in Vegas and dined where Chef Scott is working, Gordon's Gastropub. Said it was the best food he's ever had. And Scott is indeed head chef, and is still there. 1 Link to comment

DropTheSoap March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 There's always that one guy who walks around giving advice to others as if he knows all and then is booted out early on. This season was Cameron. Pretty easy to spot the contestants cast purely for the drama. 3 Link to comment
mlp March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 Michael is on very thin ice. He doesn't seem to have the skills or the personality to survive HK and Gordon Ramsay.
