  1. Design-wise it's actually fairly reminiscent of the Eccleston/Tennant-era TARDIS interior. The main difference seems to be in lighting - maybe as Whittaker's era goes on, they'll brighten up the interior.
  2. The previous season had a job at a Canadian restaurant on offer - my I guess is that the producers just assumed that the UK's immigration requirements would be the same as Canada's, and didn't discover their mistake until it was too late. Believe me, getting the immigration requirements of another country wrong would be by no means the biggest screw-up committed by the producers of a reality TV show.
  3. During Jen's original season she reacted to Ramsay's criticisms of her signature dish by calling him an idiot who didn't know what he was talking about, and then later on in the season ranted about how much of a douchebag he was being for politely asking her not to read out the tickets (i.e. the thing that nearly caused Benjamin to get his head dunked in the deep-fat fryer by the then sous chef in Season 7)... except that in that season she was smart enough to only react that way in the interview segments, and kept her mouth shut during the actual service. I suspect what we saw in the episode was the result of a decade of people telling Jen - or probably more likely Jen telling herself - how amazing and talented she is, completely stripping away any sense of self-control she may have had during her original appearance.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, UK law requires (or required at the time) you to have attempted to recruit a UK or EU national for a job before advertising in other countries. Hence, any application for Holli would have been thrown out the minute the producers told the UK immigration authorities "Oh, we never advertised in the UK, we were giving the job away as a prize in a TV show."
  5. To be fair, she kinda was - the thing to remember about S10 was that, while Barbie could be a bitch, all the other women (bar Christina and Dana) were even worse than her in terms of both temperament and cooking skill, while the men's team was the biggest collection of stunningly incompetent morons ever put together on the show. So, while Barbie would have come across badly in any other season, circumstances conspired to make her one of the most popular contestants of that year.
  6. Okay, I know the fifth episode of a season is always the one where no-one graduates, but seriously, that was a dick move by Andrew. I wouldn't have thought it two episodes ago, but Melanie's looking like she might actually be the worst of the group now. While Ashley might be worse in terms of being a nervous wreck, and Travis might be the worst from a technical standpoint, Melanie doesn't even seem to want to make the effort.
  7. Not too bad at first, but halfway through he got moved onto that season's trainwreck of a red team with the express instruction to get them working together better, and it kinda went to his head. He still made it to the black team, and his ego got so bad that at one stage he actually tried calling out a ticket in place of the then-sous chef, and it did not go at ALL well. See for yourself.
  8. I could tell that it was Gio's time to go from early on in the episode; he just seemed to be running on fumes, even in the reward. Shame too, as Nick is now the only one of the men I can bring myself to care about; much as I want to like Milly, he just keeps coming across as too loud-mouthed and arrogant. That said, Benjamin's actually coming across a fair bit better than he did in his original season, but I still wouldn't call him likeable.
  9. I'd had a feeling that Adam and Breanna would be up there for this episode's graduation. Shayne was the surprise package this week; he's clearly a much better driver than he's been letting on. In fact, most of the drivers had a good week, though Travis and Melanie still look pretty bad, and Ashley seems able to hold it together in the slower-paced challenges, but not the high-speed ones.

  11. Guessing that Adam'll be next week's graduate. Or possibly Breanna, as she does slowly seem to be showing some signs of getting it together. Melanie's not doing particularly well, but she's not looking like the worst either. So, it's looking like a three-way battle between Ashley, Shayne and Travis for the bottom spot.
  12. There's Joe, but he looks to be the stereotypical person who does have some skills but acts like a complete jerk, so I'm guessing he'll graduate somewhere around Episode 4. Unless he pulls a Scott and manages to get kicked out. I'm guessing that either Shayne or Travis is going to be this year's worst, as surely there's no way they can have another female worst driver for the fourth season in a row (though having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ashley or Breanna named the worst, going purely by their initial test).
  13. Holding out for a Jennifer-Michelle finale, as Jennifer was screwed over something rotten in her original season, while Michelle was unlucky to be in a season with two incredibly strong finalists. Also wouldn't mind it too much if Dana and/or Barbie got to the final. Among the men, Nick and possibly Giovanni are the only ones I particularly care about at this stage.
  14. Well, to be fair, men don't usually win in seasons where the female team does better either. Outside of the first few seasons (or a situation like S12, where the clearly intended winner takes herself out), men simply don't win this show, period.
  15. Well, who didn't see THAT coming? This episode just goes to show that Krystal is her own worst enemy. Had she actually bothered to put some effort into driving safely and not being so needlessly dickish towards Andrew, odds are Daniella would have been named the worst for her meltdown on the highway. And really, there was no reason other than her own selfishness that Krystal couldn't have had the same sort of redemption arc that Tyler ended up getting.
