A place for us to discuss fab (or non fab) things the Housewives wear, the real estate porn and the luxe vacations they take. Did you like (or not like) Heather's dress at Birdland? Do you lust after Ramona's condo? Are you yearning to go to St. Barth's (minus the creepy and possibly STD carrying pirate)? Let's have at it!

As much as I think Aviva is a loony toon, I do like her fashion choices most of the time. Loved her floral Dolce & Gabbana dress at creepy George's engagement party. Loved Kristen's dress at Carole's birthday bash.

Here are some screen-caps of said dress: http://www.bigblondehair.com/real-housewives/rhony/kristen-taekmans-black-slit-maxi-dress-caroles-birthday/

Not digging Ramona and Sonja's sorority semi-formal cocktail dresses in their 'intro' pieces.

Kristen and Aviva (gah!!) have the best up to date styles. Luann doesn't have an up to date style but she looks fantastic in everything she wears. I love her hairstyle and her body shape. I would die if I had Ramona's butt. She really works on it and it shows. Sonja just looks like she has gnats flying around her, nasty just oozes from her when I see her. Not to be harsh but she is not clean looking to me. I don't like anything Heather wears. I think Carole looks ok in her hipster schtick, it works for her. I hate the gloves with the fingers cut off. I do love that when she does go glam, she just looks fabulous.

Yeah, I'm generally loathe to giant statement piece necklaces like the ones Luann wears, but there's something to be said for a woman who knows her body and what suits it. Her clothes are always perfectly tailored for her figure and she manages to pull off those looks without appearing too effortful.

As a Manhattan real estate porn addict, I adore getting glimpses of these ladies' luxurious lodgings!

Therefore I live and die for Carole's awesome, loft-esque pad---it's just the sort of elegantly funky apartment I would dream of living in if I ever moved to NYC:

http://thedesigndaredevil.com/2014/04/carole-radziwills-nyc-apartment/

But I drink the "Cool Carole" elder hipster chick KoolAid anyway, so I'm a fan of her daring style overall, whether it be within her home or via her often edgy/whackadoodle wardrobe.

For me, she's living the worldly lifestyle and displaying the stylish chutzpah that most of us gals would dream of enjoying while in our 50's.

As kooky as Kelly was, I also adore her own downtown loft.

((HATE her wardrobe though))

Although I think it's somewhat odd and yet oddly appropriate that she's *always* redecorating the place and moving shit around. It's like she's got this constant manic decorating instinct:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lC38VC0yQUI

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1bbIKWFXtvo

((and she's redecorated the joint at least 2 or 3 times since she shot these videos, of course))

Bethenny's redone new apartment that she showcased on "Bethenny Ever After" was mindblowingly stunning, but it also seemed oddly cold and lacking in personal accents. And given the fact that it was displayed shortly before her messy divorce was beginning, it's just sad to think of her marriage crumbling in that showroom of a home.

I really wanted to like Jill's glitzy apartment and it had good bones, but her gaudy Vegas decorating style ruined it for me. Ditto Alex and Simon's Brooklyn Brownstone that they literally ruined with all the tacky bordello stylings.

Ramona's place is beautiful, but it really needs an update---way too dated with its grandma-esque, typical upper East Side decor. But the views look awesome.

Kristen's apartment itself is fab, but she can't decorate worth a shit. I suppose having the two small kids in there has made her decorating instincts secondary to all else, and it shows.

Maybe that's why Heather's apartment has yet to be featured?((although I do love the modern rustic vibe of her Berkshires home))

I actually really liked Aviva's rented townhouse this past season, although much like Bethenny's "dream home" reveal on her own show, the place just seemed way too done up and perfected by well-paid interior designers to feel like an actual home.

Sonja's crumbling townhouse is just so sad. Much like Sonja herself and her tired old wardrobe, it's like a ghost of past glories, although there's still some slight charm left in that little courtyard, I suppose.

I follow LuAnne on Instagram and have seen glimpses of her own little pad on there, which seems sexy and fun, yet still chic and classy, just like her Countess self.

I like Carole's loft apartment and it suits her. Her clothing however makes me cringe. I don't follow the latest trends and I know a woman over 50 doesn't have to dress matronly (Im over 50), but Carole just looks silly in some of her outfits. And adding pigtails to the mess doesn't elevate the look IMHO.

LuAnn's style is classic and she seems to know what works for her and she looks good in most things. I loved her Hamptons nautical stripes look. Is there a link for pix of her NYC place? Also, I'm trying to jog my memory for Kristen's pants at Heather's anniversary party. Sun-Bun, I'm watching that Kelly video and I want her arms. Wow.

Atlanta, this is probably the best glimpse currently available of her Manhattan pad, via LuAnn's Instagram:

http://instagram.com/p/vMikt6jifn/

She does seem to have great taste/style that carries into her wardrobe as well. I loved how she did her former Hamptons house as well---so tastefully chic, and yet cozy and livable.

My fave thing about LuAnn is that she seems so comfortable with her own self: she doesn't seem to be a plastic surgery addict, she always dresses stylishly age-appropriate, and she has a cute short 'do instead of desperately clinging to long hair/ridiculous extensions like most other Real Housewives.

((and that's one thing I *don't* like about Carole: the plastic surgery and too-long extensions are a bit off-putting and go against the "too cool to care" character that she tries to display))

I totally agree on Carole's style. I think it changed recently,....she used to look just fine in her first season, IIRC.  If Carole needs to claim a TV foremother, maybe   it should be Mary Tyler Moore or Rhonda. Not Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City.

I suppose her other choice was to become a sweet geeky sidekick. Wisecracking and living a life a little apart from the others. I wonder if it's to escape that role that she went for whatever she's going for.

It's very awkward.

stoopid housewives posts a guess-the-housewife game occasionally, with HW photos cropped and just shoes and part of a HW leg showing.  I noticed that Carole's pics are often the focus, with the second-most unflattering outfits and shoes. (Kyle of RHBH also shows up on a regular basis and she tends to dress worse IMO- pretty much everything she chooses seems not to work with her bodytype),

It would be so great to have an apartment like Carole's in Manhattan. But while her own style is so unsettled, I don't know if her surroundings fit her.  I like her stairs and her window-seat. But as a 50+ woman ignorant of trend I'm probably too set in my ways to like that sofa...it was wickedly expensive too and very hard to find, if I remember. Pure silk & some kind of antique.

The sofa was given to her by her mother in law. I'm sure it was expensive. There might even be some sentimentality attached, but I doubt it with Carole.

Oh, I remember now.. Thanks, Green-Eyed Lady!

Talking of houses, did we hear any more about Carole's second home (in Beverly Hills, I think) which came equipped with a dog called Margaret? I vaguely remember some speculation that house and the dog were borrowed for the show.  It was a very lovely house with amazing light. Ironically, that is the kind of living space I would have imagined for Carole- or for a writer, I guess. A well-to-do one.  .

Btw I didn't think that kind of thing happened outside RHONJ (pretending to live in a home while bravo gets footage of the person from the yard, patio, or corridor). If Carole did borrow it, it must have been on bravo's instigation. Still, how the scales have fallen from my eyes. tsk tsk Carole.

I may be out of my mind but Carole's BH house sure looked like that house Josh Flagg had during his first session on MDL. It wasn't the condo in his grandmother's building but somewhere else. It was the tight living room couches with the paned windows right behind them that seemed similar to me. It had the feel of houses in the LA canyons.

Yep - I'm 27 and I'm too old for pigtails. For me, they belong to little girls.

That's what I love about LuAnn although some of her ginormous necklaces make me do a double take and I have been known to say out loud "Jesus Christ, that is huge"... But otherwise I love that she always looks fabulous and effortless while being completely age appropriate.

Since Ramona has ditched the satin dresses I like a lot of what she wears too and think she looks great. I wish she'd go back to the choppy bob though she had when she was "renewing" herself; she really suited it, much better than the long hair. Carole would suit a shorter style too plus her hair is thin and stringy to me. Heather's, at least, is thick and she's got plenty of it. Bethenny's hair looks shitty this season, with her jaw though I'm not sure if she could pull off anything too short.

On saying that though, I have waist length curly hair and I'll probably be clinging to it when I'm middle aged too and should aim for a bit of a shorter style!

I am glad this thread has been revived. Carole has worn the best clothes (in my opinion), and the worst/weirdest cloths. But overall, I really like her style because at least she takes some chances.

I have waist length hair and don't subscribe to the "if you are over age X, you must cut it." I'm 42 and look much younger (it's the genes). It's all how you take care of it with regular trims. I've seen teen girls with long hair that would otherwise be great if they only trimmed it. It's all I can do to not come at them with scissors. lol However, my hair (and my ten year old DD's) is very thick and can handle the length. Same with my sis and her DD. Our fam is known for thick hair. :D

I tend to wear all-black everything and I've been likeling Beth's clothes. Her look is a bit mature for me (I'm quite a bit younger than she is) but I've liked most of her choices.

That compliment goes to Brynn. She insisted Beth borrow her duds for the show.

Show off! :) I think if your hair remains thick and healthy looking then keep your long hair, but if age thins it out then I don't think it's flattering to keep it and ages you. Carole, for example, her hair is so thin and stringy to me and would look so much better if she went a bit shorter.

I look a lot younger than I am and I hate that I get ID'd for cigarettes, yet these housewives would kill to look my age!

I don't think it's an age thing either. I think it's a hair thing. For lots of women their hair starts loosing texture and volume in middle age and by the time menopause hits it just doesn't grow well or look great. But if your hair continues to look nice long, keep it. I think Merril Streep looks great with long hair. With Carole, I'm not sure. She doesn't have great hair naturally, but it looks ok with the extentions she's been using. She could go short, but I suspect that if she takes out her extentions her hair is super thin so we may be talking real short...I'm not sure Carole wants to make her face the focal point. Yes, that is mean, but Carole's pretty horsey looking. I actually think it's smart of Carole to draw attention to her body. She has a great body. Her face? Not so much.

Agree. Work with your hair and not against it. :) I still have to get caught up this season. I used to work with a gal who has extremely short hair, but she had the hair color (black), thickness and face to make it look fab.

Wealth of RHONY cast...Luann is hustling to sell her record...in Spain recently. Is she creating angst with Heather for publicity hoping to sell more records?

This comes up all the time, but Carole has said she does not have the amount of money that is reported and Sonja is in bankruptcy and her debts far exceed her income and wealth. I wish we could pin this because these numbers are literally bullshit.

If you want a replica of Carole's couch here is the fabric--and it is on sale right now,  According to this a sofa would run right around $20,000.00-hardly the price of a villa in France.  Even with an interior designer mark up.  http://www.decoratorsbest.com/p-scalamandre-26167m-001-tigre-ivory-gold-black-fabric-171476.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAjwla2tBRDY7YK9uKXe8R8SJAAhG6LGSkibeaV_I5-8Gck7hbyGu6p8o66fEO-xZB6fGl6KwBoCpoPw_wcB

Carole has said she isn't worth 50 million pesos.  I cannot find the article but I remember reading that Anthony's father, who was never granted the right to be a Prince post WWII in England, he was a Mr. and allowed to use Prince as a courtesy title, had to start over after WWII.  When he passed  he had been divorced from Lee for a couple of years however, the divorce was a long time coming http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20064301,00.html, so with children from other marriages and what not I am curious just how wealthy Radziwll was at the time of his death and how much was passed on to Anthony.  Someone who read the book Carole wrote might have a better idea but I was under the impression Carole and Anthony did not work a great deal during their marriage due to Anthony's illness.  Carole seems to think she has to work and has said as much so I don't even see her being worth low end double digit millions. Maybe they are figuring in her third book revenues or her sit com roylaties-oh wait that just didn't happen.

Sonja at best will break even and keep the townhouse after her legal troubles.  No more homes in France, Colorado or Connecticut.  I agree these numbers in general are bullshit==Kristen worth $20 million HAHAHA.  Luann sold her house for over a $7 million price difference than she paid for it.  So I think these numbers are just made up.

These numbers always crack me up. I don't think Carole is worth $50MM. I also doubt that Kristen is worth $20MM (if so, it would drive Ramona nuts that Kristen is worth more than she is).  If Kristen is, they are certainly counting Josh's share as well, but they don't with Heather. They have listed Heather's worth at $10MM since she first came on the show 4 years ago. Hard to believe her net worth never went up while being on the show.

Isn't Kristen renting an apartment?  I think Josh Taekman puts this stuff out there as part of his branding.  I just think I could do the same thing and make up numbers for a person's net worth. I think I will start with Andy Cohen-my made up number for his net worth is $10 million dollars.

Anthony was working for HBO Documentaries and still worked until he got too sick. During the marriage Carole got her master's degree from NYU and had an emotional affair on the class trip to China. (It's one of the most sad and raw parts of the book, and that's saying a lot)
