Did posts get deleted? I was in the midst of replying, but now they are gone. I suppose it was partially bitterness, but since it's about spoilers, can't talk about it there.

The lightening bolt is a spoiler tag.  You can hide spoilers under there. (In case you didn't know... my apologies if you did).

Swimming in the shallow pool for a moment.  We need to talk about Jack's bangs.  Do the hairdressers not LIKE him?  Is this supposed to make him look like Pete Campbell?  WHY are they doing this?

Note; if people LIKE the bangs, my apologies.  They just seem kinda weird and limp to me.

So here's a question: how does Mary survive? Frankly, it makes a lot of sense for Dean to assume she's probably dead, because there's no reason for Lucifer not to kill her that I can see. So, what is going to be the in-show explanation for why she survives -- if, as I assume, she does?

One possibility is that the rift works in strange ways, and while they go in together, they don't actually wind up in exactly the same place. Another is that someone is there to save her - I don't think it will be Cas, but maybe Bobby?

But while I don't think the show will go there, it also occurs to me that Mary would be a very good vessel for Lucifer. While he hasn't needed a "one true vessel" for some time, if the showrunners wanted to, it would be easy enough to create a reason that he would want to keep a potential vessel around in alt-world.

Long term prediction: Jack is going to wind up staying in, and saving, alt-world. The vision of the future Cas saw was AU Earth, not our reality.

Perhaps Lucifer's presence sets off alarm bells and the angels of the Alternate come to attack Lucifer and Mary sneaks away in the kerfuffle?

If I remember right, Crowley fixed Nick so Lucifer is stuck inside him. Now, that doesn't mean that can't change in the future, but I assumed it was the show's way of saying Lucifer will now always be played by Mark Pellegrino.

Interesting over at Tree Topper they have BTS photos on set with the J's, Misha and Jack.  If they are dressed for shooting(not sure if they are) then Cas is wearing something different...a blue suit.

Can you bring that link over?

I think it's the young Leonardo DiCaprio look they're going for.

Asking for a friend....

You can tell your "friend" we haven't yet seen him, but we've been speculating the guy in the white suit in the promo might be Asmodeus.

I think that's Jared, not Sam.  Which means, I don't think Jared was filming then, so Sam wasn't in that scene with Dean, Cas, and Jack.

Leverage.

I figure Lucifer has cottoned on that 'those denim wrapped nightmares' are likely to open a rift to get their mother.  He needs to hold her hostage to get back to our world.

Noticed this on Jess' spoiler sheet On Tumblr

Quote

Guest stars: Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester), Alexander Calvert (Jack), Mark Pellegrino (Lucifer), Christian Keyes (Michael), Keith Szarabajka (Donatello Redfield),  Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Asmodeus) Mark Sweatman (Tattoist), Ryan S. Williams (Commander)

So, have we discussed Jack getting a tattoo?  Cause I think Jack is getting a tattoo.  Which is smart. I don't know if he's possessable but better safe than sorry.

So... does he bleed?  Because if a tattoo works that's technically 'damaging' the skin.  Maybe it works because he allows it?  Or maybe his instincts kick in (in which case, the poor tattoo artist is going to go flying).

Hmm. Him getting an anti possession tattoo seems...weird. Like what will it do for him? His archangel side should be able to just eject a demon or and his human side would be able to eject an angel who tries to get in without permission.

Crowley was able to possess Gadreel but he was not an archangel, and he was inside Sam who was fully human. And he possessed Cas but Lucifer was suppressing Cas and Cas was also just like whatever man, let me watch TV.

So, it seems to me that the power of an archangel should trump everything non-God division including half-human.

SWERVE: He's getting an anti-possession tattoo that disables his ability to possess someone else. Like how Crowley supposedly locked Lucifer into his meatsuit, which kind of implies to me that Lucifer shouldn't be able to possess anyone else, now that I think about it. Maybe they figure out a sigil that keeps the archangel side of Spawn from getting out since Kelly wouldn't let them remove his grace.  Of course, that begs the question of why don't they just convince Spawn to let them remove his grace.

Putting this here because spoilers with Misha's wardrobe. He has to be wearing a retro costume like Old West sylte  style outfit. Look at the neckwear and the flowery suitcoat. That is definitely not something Misha is likely to wear for the heck of it unless he's doing something for GISHWHES or attending a costume party and they were still filming Tombstone last night. Hmmmm.

Yeah episode 6 is where they are all in a Western town--so Cas seems to be with the boys and undercover!

I dunno. It doesn't say whether they think it's anAlt Cas, or whether he'll be resurrected into the AU instead of "our" world, and then has to come back through a rift.  It does make me ponder whether these predictions are based on inside info they are not sharing with the rest of the class and are really more a spoiler than a prediction. I'm not saying that's what they are doing, just wondering.  Could be things that they have decided for themselves like we do with their own interpretations.  I just thought it was interesting.

Think it's wrong anyway--don't think Cas is in alt world at all in season 13.  By the way--people are saying that suit Misha is wearing on set is a $3,000 D+G outfit.

I still wonder why he's be wearing that kind of throwback costume though since it seems to be present day with Dean nearly getting hit by a car, as he is apparently, chasing after the guy in the cowboy outfit who walks back behind Jensen in the video upthread. Also, there is a sign reading "Dodge City Public Library" in the pics with Jensen, Misha and Jared doing a scene rehearsal, and I'm wondering if this a haunted tourist attraction and the guy in the cowboy outfit is a ghost or monster, or a day player who works there. Maybe Dodge City has a portal between the alt world and our world.

Which suit? The blue one or the throwback outfit? Do you have links to that? I'm interested to read more about it.

The throwback outfit.  I don't know--saw some Cas fans on twitter talking about it.  Don't remember who exactly--search among some of them, you'll bump into it...they even have pics of it all displayed.

Now we know why Cas only owned one outfit for the last 9 years. He was saving up for a $3,000 suit.

Because, the tattoo guy DOES go flying.  (last shot of the promo).

Interesting "mid-air" moment for the boys ..they've never done that quite like that before.  They must have been in harnesses.  Gotta say, that wall slam looked painful for both.

According to Jensen, Dean's grief is supposed to be locked behind walls and he's looking for something to hit.  It seems to me he should be jumping into this head first.  A s2 mind set makes more sense than a s7 one.

I'm not really seeing much evidence of grief or any that should take Dean out of the action.   It's like I predicted, Dean's mindset seems to be like he was in ep 12.10 where his worry came out more as anger.  This is what I predict what will happen here.

Grief is a weird thing. It can manifest in anger, rage, fear, depression, etc so for me if Dean acts out by wanting to kill Spawn or someone else, I can buy it.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  What I meant was that if Dean's grief manifested as anger, I can't see him sitting out of the action, but rather jumping in head first almost to the point of recklessness.   I can see him wanting to throw caution to the wind with Mary too.

This whole Dean doesn't want to look for Mary isn't something I can't wrap my head around.

Episode one synopsis courtesy of IBelieveInTheLittleTreeHopper

Quote

THEY’RE BAAACKK… — Season 13 begins exactly where we left off, with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) left to pick up the pieces after the loss of their mother, the demise of Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and the heartbreaking death of Castiel (Misha Collins). The birth of Jack (Alexander Calvert) leaves the Winchester brothers with differing opinions on how to deal with a Nephilim. After being dragged into the breach, Mary (Samantha Smith) must learn to survive Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and an apocalyptic world. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1301). Original Airdate 10/12/2017.

It's weird since there was so much fuss about Jared having time off and multiple BTS shots of Jensen (not saying for this ep specifically, but in general over the last few weeks). But yeah, I fully expect this whole Spawnifer story line to be Samcentric. But look!!! Dean is (probably) driving the car.

I think since the name of the Instagram account that posted the pics and caption is "thesam.winchester", it makes sense that they would feature pictures of Sam - and even speculate (in probably what they thought was a hopeful manner) that it's a Sam-centric episode.

It doesn't mean that it is.

The link to the spoiler pics are essentially the same as on SpoilerTV which were the promo pics the network released.

They left off one Dean pic, the rest are included.

That said, I agree it might not be as Samcentric as the promo pics imply. They sure are pimping the hell out of Spawn though. And I get why Cas isn't featured because he's dead and won't appear again until at least ep 4 but probably ep 6.

Yep--Dean will be prominent in the episode...promo pics are notoriously weak indicators of what the FULL episode will be.   And yep--Cas is not seen(in a lucid state) until episode 4 in his strange realm then episode 6 when he reunites with the boys.

On any show I watch (even - gasp! - other than Supernatural ;) ) the promo pics rarely accurately reflect the episode.   It's like those movies that you think are going to be really funny, because of the teasers - but the 2 minutes of teasers are the only funny bits in 120 minutes.

I'm not saying that Dean will be prominent in the episode. I think it will likely be more balanced than Sam centric or Dean centric. If Dean seems prominent it will be because of Jensen, and what ever emotional heavy lifting he'll be doing WRT to Cas and Mary, but I think Sam will be the action person with Spawn even though Dean wants to kill Spawn and might shoot at him, that's probably the extent of it for Dean. He'll want to do do him harm but will be talked down by Sam after initially trying to shoot him which won't work as shown in the promo. That said, I won't be surprised if it did turn out to be Sam centric, given 13.3 with Jody and Missouri seems to be Dean heavy if a Jody centric episode. so they might feature more Sam in the premiere and 13.2 and more Dean in 13.3.
