Whoopie seems to still be under the illusion that what it says in the constitution makes any difference to what the current white house inhabitant & his sycophants do or will stop them taking $400 million bribes, or anything for that matter. He's basically just told the SC to go pound sand over grabbing people in the streets & deporting them to a foreign death camp.

Fucking laughable.

Aside from the legal or ethical issues about the Qatar "gift", I wonder why they want to give it to the US? They haven't said publicly that they want anything in return, but something like that has to have some strings attached.

Also, how secure would it be? Think about the American embassy in Russia that had all those listening devices built into it - what's to keep something similar from being in the plane. Trojan horse, maybe?

I imagine that the plane would get a good going over to check for those kinds of things, but how much is that going to cost? How long would it take? There are lots of reasons to be suspicious.

I heard on the news that experts are saying it would take a minimum of a year, but they said that's a very conservative estimate--it would more likely be a few years.  They said not only do they have to sweep every inch of the plane for bugs, they have to totally revamp it construction-wise to coincide with the Air Force's requirements, for example, make it be able to withstand a nuclear blast.

All on our dime.

Do we think this will really happen?  Or will he bypass all that and just say "we are using it", or he won't care because it will be his afterwards anyway so the US is making it better for his personal use later.  Lose/lose

And meanwhile, Boeing is current working on the new Air Force One plane that was previously ordered. Which we are paying for.

The fact that people are concerned about their SS, medicare and medicaid and this guy is blowing through our money with his weekly golf trips and luxury airplanes makes me physically ill. What has happened to my country?

You don't give someone a $400 million dollar bribe gift without wanting something in return. My money is on some hot war somewhere we will end up fighting.

And it's also the precedent it will set.  Who will be the next country to offer up a "gift" to Trump to get something they want?

I have been unable to watch for a week or two, but caught the May 12 episode online. I was struck by Whoopie's comment that Pope Leo doesn't care what you are - and she named several different religions - as long as you believe in God. There seemed to be a murmur of approval. Really? That's all it takes? Not be a moral person, a compassionate person, an honest person. Just a belief in God.

A slap in the face to atheists like me. Not that I need Pope Leo's approval. But an insult from Whoopie just the same.

I would take anything Whoop says with a grain of salt.  She's like my 80 year old aunts, full of misinformation but damn certain!  Pope Leo never said what Whoop thinks he said.  If I missed it and anybody has any video backing it up, please post the link.

Whoopi took her role in Ghost to heart, I guess. She knows what people think, even when they don't say it.  This isn't the only time that she's asserted something that another person thinks or says without having any evidence that it is accurate.

She's saying what she would say, if she were the Pope.

Why does anyone care if Biden was fully  capable when he retired?  Old news. So what, who cares? I agree with Joy that the party’s problems have nothing to do with this and it’s time to move on. This is not why trump was elected.

Love that Ana pointed out that so many Rs didn’t mind voting for a felon… or working for one, Alyssa.

While it is old news, I think that the issue is that he was basically forced to step aside because of this, and that indicates that the Democratic party leaders allowed the charade to go on long after it should have ended. That, to me, indicates that there were/are problems that haven't been addressed and corrected and need to be if they want to succeed in the future. I do think this contributed to Trump winning, because enough voters lacked confidence in the DNC and its candidate.

The Biden conversation is always poisoned anyway because the truth is anyone pushed into the nomination at the last minute like that was not going to win. Alyssa and Sara want to rehash Biden of course, but they can't really because--as much as they will say Democrats supposedly didn't listen--Biden was not on the ballot. Because people in the media like them obsessed over it every day nonstop for months, Biden dropped out and there's no knowing what the numbers would've been if he had stayed in. Alyssa and Sara want to have their cake and eat it, too, as usual.

I was glad Ana hammered the two of them at the end of the first segment instead of letting them steamroll everyone. I mean, comparing Biden's age to insurrection, those two are crazy as hell. Personally, I think it's that kind of insanity that is more responsible for the state of things anyway, but naturally they would like everyone else to "take responsibility" while they themselves never look in the mirror and take responsibility for their own role in getting us to this point.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me either.

I have no doubt about Alyssa, she's just gross during these types of topics which tells you who she really is. Sara, on the other hand, I'm sure would never have voted for Trump. She's overall a decent person, she just comes across bitter when it comes to the whole age-related discussions. Probably for having been called ageist, I suppose.

Alyssa was horrible on Fridays show...ecstatically, gleefully, beyond happily enjoying the talk about Biden's increasing dementia, while waving aside Trump's obvious decline.

I'm so tired of hearing about Biden in lieu of the current concern over the aged, yet childish person acting ridiculously now in now in the oval office.

I can't find enough strong words that reflect my  my outrage of the preponderance of the  media on this topic.

I'm with you on that.  What exactly does it accomplish?  (Sell books?) Maybe people were complicit, who can know for sure but we must move forward now and shine light on current situation.

Whoopi was a bit naive regarding Republicans expressing sympathy for President Biden. After about five minutes, they (especially Don Jr.) were starting in with the conspiracy theories.  When Ana tried to bring that up, Whoopi shot her right down.  I saw that on Fox News they are calling for a full congressional investigation because they think the cancer was kept from the public. These people have no hearts, no souls. And Jake Tapper looks like a mean bully.
