Trevor pitched the idea to Jay personally and used the word 'breastaurant' when Jay was able to see the ghosts.

I forgot about that!  I think Jay would've been suspicious even if Trevor hadn't said that to him directly.  It's such a Trevor thing to say!  It's nice to see Jay figuring out all of the ghost's personalities based on what Sam tells him.  He seems more included in some ways.

And then there's Pete:  "and you get an apple tree, and you get an apple tree...."  😅

I think I owe The Americans an apology, it turns out that you really can look like a totally different person thanks to different hair and an accent!

I posted in last week's thread it's the Superman/Clark Kent thing. Just one thing can throw you off on recognizing someone. Such a different a mustache make! He's cute with and without but I prefer without.

That was a great episode for me, until the ending. I'm sorry, I'm just tired of Jay getting the short end of the stick. Sure it's great for Isaac and maybe the other ghosts having someone new around, but we know this ghost isn't gonna become a regular. And now Jay's restaurant has a body count ...

Actually I thought it was really great for Jay.  He got a legit good review and tremendous free publicity with a stripper falling through his roof which the insurance will surely pay for.

The latter will absolutely attract people far and wide to come check out the restaurant of the skydiving crashing stripper for sure.  That's how people are.  They love this kind of stuff and to brag to their friends they visited a "famous" place like this.  So a win-win for Jay.

I was just about to ask, who exactly is supposed to pay for the hole in the roof there?  I mean, in the words of George Costanza, to compensate the other, still living victim of this horrendous, horrendous tragedy?  Surely Jay’s insurance doesn’t cover roof damage by falling strippers.  Would that be Chris’s own liability insurance (assuming he had one as a business owner)?  Or the skydiving company’s insurance?

I also wonder, with a risk like this, just how much was this It’s Raining Men package?  And it kinda sounded like Sam paid for it herself and surprised Alicia with it, too.  Yet another smart business decision by the Arondekars.

Oh, definitely.  I’ve never heard the word “breastaurant” before and assumed Trevor invented it (or, rather, the writers invented it for Trevor). But, apparently, it’s been used for a few decades now and was even trademarked at some point.  I have also learned that there was once a male equivalent of Hooters.  It was a very educational episode.

I've seen some theorizing that all the chaos that's been unfolding ever since Jay's restaurant opened might lead him to be desperate enough to make some kind of deal to help salvage his restaurant's reputation.

Like, say, with the sketchy publisher from the Hamilton episode...

Would be very interesting if they were to go that route.

Seems so. I did a little googling; apparently he likes to bring his guitar to entertain the cast on set. Nigel has a nice voice, too.

I've seen this clip before! I love this, it's so wonderful. I've always felt this song would be a perfect fit for this show, given the lyrics and all.

But yeah, I am all for more opportunities that allow Roman to play guitar and sing on the show :D.

Flower can sing, too! (I just spent the last litttle bit scrolling through his tiktok looking for more songs. There are one or two others, I think.)

That New York subway car was spot on.

Many NYC subway cars are built in Canada.

That was absolutely legit. It was the body of an R62A car. The R62A class was made by Bombardier (now Alstom) at their plant about 4 hours east of Montreal in La Pocatière, so I'm guessing one of their shells was sold or donated for film production at some point.

This is now on location at the MELS studio in Montreal and was apparently used in SCREAM VI. Pictures in the Tweet linked below.

Its exterior, including the red stripe and signage would have put it on the Broadway Local (#1 train), but the strip map visible in the establishing shot was for the Flushing Line (#7). The car number of the mockup is wrong as well: the R62As were built in 1983-84 and are numbered 1651-2475. In real life, the R62A class did run on the #7 line for years, and still does run on both the 1 and the 6. It's brother, the Kawasaki-built R62, runs on the #3 today.

OMG, Stripper Dude and Nigel hitting it off would be perfect! I know it won't happen, or if it did, they'd make it a 'Nigel just wanted to take revenge on Isaac' plot, they way they've been writing him recently. But a girl can dream.

I really enjoyed the episode, and the ending was certainly a banger I didn't expect.

Didn't know Sass could sing, we need a duet with Alberta!

I could also see it where Nigel isn't actually interested in Chris but he acts like he is just to see how Isaac reacts. But I would genuinely like them to hit it off for real, even just as friends. It'd be nice to see more of Nigel properly befriending other ghosts on the property beyond his fellow British soldiers.

Now I need to know what it was called, and what the equivalent of "breastaurant" is! (although I would not go to either one)

Tallywackers.

(Really.)

If the actor is really Australian, I think it's funny that his character on High Potential is named Oz.

I thought of that, too. The character's full name is Lev Ozdil (which I didn't know until just now when I googled it.)

Just more proof why a musical episode of this show would be so much fun :D.

I vaguely remember maybe a Christmas special on the original British show where the upstairs ghosts held some sort of musical pageant and invited the downstairs ghosts to come up and be the audience and watch them.

I don't think this vague mention goes into any kind of spoiler territory.  Or the next though this part below I will put the tags on since some characters from the show are mentioned:

Spoiler

Just wanted to add the idea to stage this and invite the downstairs plague ghosts up was good guy scout master Pat's idea since Pete is the most direct one-to-one transfer of any of those characters to this version. So Pete could organize something in the US version maybe.

And Allison (Sam of UK version) and her husband (Mike) arrived home earlier than expected and got to watch too though Mike (sitting in the front row) spent the time texting on his phone or something.  Jay would never be that rude.

When I first had my idea about Nigel and Chris, it was about Nigel developing the hots for him, but I never thought of Chris reciprocating. We don't know that much about him yet but I suspect neither Nigel nor Isaac would be his cup of tea, though he might find them interesting enough to become friends with them--and I agree it would be nice to see Nigel interact more closely with some of the other mansion ghosts.  Actually, I could see Chris eyeing Trevor, waste of time though that would be.  At any rate, any story line like that would have to be a subplot given that both Chris and Nigel are only recurring characters--or at least I'm assuming Chris will be recurring.  It'll be interesting to see what the writers do with him.

In the only YouTube interview with John Hartman I ever came across (part of the Actors with Issues podcast), he says he has a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Michigan, majoring in in classical trumpet.  So I guess he's got multiple musical skills.  (He comes across as a really nice guy in the interview, by the way.)

Great observations!!  I didn't pay attention the exterior or strip map, and though I use the subway frequently, I certainly don't know anything about the car numbers.  Anyway, it's nice to know they used an actual car.

The scene with Alberta and her grand(however many grands there were) niece gave me goosebumps.  I may have teared up just a little.  Such wonderful singing and the duet.

Not a fan of the skydiving thing.  Poor bride will always have that as a memory around her wedding festivities.  And I'm a little tired of Jay's restaurant having all the issues.  I get it's a little like Darren on Bewitched but as another poster pointed out Darren earned a lot of his problems, Jay is trying to work with the ghosts and his wife's ability.
