I had to fast forward through the elderly gentleman and his children, hit to close to home with my dad.

The surgeon has the hots for Santos, right? She seems to favor her every time she shows up and totally backtracked when she learned Santos screwed up.

I also can't believe Santos acted without presenting again. She's 100% going to kill someone, her attitude is too cocky and she doesn't care about the patients, they're pretty much toys for her to play with; perfect surgeon 😃

Mel is still my favorite. She's awkward and doesn't have a filter, so her bedside manner isn't great, but she cares about the patients.

Yes. Same. I'm like nope that's not the sound and I don't need to hear it when it happens.

Surprised it took until the fourth hour/episode for a transgender patient to show up but at least it's presented better than the god awful way of medical shows in the 90s and early 2000s. I think House was the worst but they were all bad.

The ratio of content to ads is outrageous. Will have to time it out one of these weeks.

If you remember all the way back to ER, I think it was the first season where Carter interacted very badly with a transgender patient and the person ended up throwing themselves off the roof of the hospital by the end of the episode.

I also had an ER flashback when they were talking about the guide wire and how careful you needed to be when inserting it.  Of course, Deb Chen (Ming Na) tried to put in a central line by herself and lost the guide wire in the patient.

I really enjoyed the episode (and that we were spared seeing the dead roach in the patient's ear).

Yeah, she's way too arrogant for someone with so little experience.  It's a recipe for disaster.

So is poor Whitaker going to have fluids on him every hour?

The interns were better this hour. Loved all the bets about the ambulance.

Santos getting told off by the calmest resident was unexpected. She didn't let her get away with her usual list of excuses for being a jerk. I think the favoritism by the surgeon is undoing any lesson learning by Santos.

Poor Robby, that was tough for him being in the same room where his mentor died. That final breath was gut wrenching, took me right back to my dad's hospice room, wasn't ready for that.

One thing that the 'real-time' aspect has done is make that end-of-life scenario feel very realistic and something so many people have experienced.  I recommended this show to some friends but I'm always careful to point out this story in case some might consider it too intense for them even though it's the most common scenario.

I was afraid they were going to reveal Tasha's cut was from a suicide attempt, but I'm glad it was as simple and straightforward as something related to her job.

I loved Robby's breakdown in the bathroom.  At the time he was having it, I was telling him 'go pee, go pee' and so I loved that the scene ended with him realizing he breakdown gave him time to go to the bathroom.

That was a tough watch because (like many of you) the end of life scenario hit close to home & brought back a lot of memories. I'd never heard of ho’oponopono but I like it & am glad I instinctively said similar things to my Dad.

Curious where they're going with the Mom & daughter who overslept. I got the sense they crossed state lines for the abortion but why would they go to an ER vs. a clinic? and what did the Dr see on the ultrasound?

Poor Whitaker, the hospital is going to run out of scrubs by the time his shift is over. And not to get weird about it, but I wonder how real that peeing scene actually was. It was more graphic than I expected. Did the actor really pee on him?

We didn't see it in her ear but we saw it when they flushed it out. It was huge. No wonder she screamed.

I was thinking the fetus was further along than the girl indicated, perhaps putting her out of range for a medication abortion.

Gotcha.  I had my eyes shut at that moment, so I only heard the scream and thought the scene of what they found was off screen.
