Imagine moving to a whole new city with a man and his family and you haven't even had a real date yet.

---

So I'm gonna throw this out here...haven't mentioned it to anyone yet. I'm challenging myself to walk an hour every day for the next month, based on this video.

He's a trainer and to screen potential clients he started challenging them to do it for a month before agreeing to take them on (because he was too busy and didn't want to take on people who weren't committed). I started Sunday...got caught in the rain (which I thought was done; I was wrong) but it was almost 60 degrees and not that heavy at first, so it wasn't too bad. I had 15 minutes left by the time I came back past my car so I grabbed an umbrella and finished it (the wind really picked up right around when I was done so my timing could have been worse; if I kept going I would really have gotten soaked). Since then it's been freezing out so Monday I walked back and forth between my living room and bedroom (which was pretty boring since my condo is only about 850 sq. ft.). Yesterday I went to the gym after work but today and tomorrow I'm working from home. Today I set a timer, put my laptop up on the shelf above my desk, moved my chair back, and alternated between marching in place and stepping side to side until the timer went off. Not exactly walking but I moved for an hour straight. I wanted to go outside at lunchtime but the feels-like temp was about 15F. We'll see about tomorrow. I don't think it's supposed to be much warmer.

Cmon if he has been losing weight for four months, he should be able to walk.  Either he stopped losing, or he has some serious mental hangups.

The sister is better, she is pushing herself, and her weight is about equivalent to his in terms of difficulty moving it around...  He feels too sorry for himself, that's not a good sign.

When we have our Boston/Salem Pounder Con we can have an Aldi field trip!

I'm in!!!

I have to toot my own horn during this commercial. I had a kitchen reno back in 2023/2024. I had a bunch of plastic totes in my basement with extra stuff that I didn't need right away and I had items in places they shouldn't have been so this winter my plan was to go thru all the totes and reorganize my cabinets/pantry, drawers, etc.

I finally completed the task in Monday and I feel great. Things are where they should be, stuff that's not needed or is extra is bound for a thrift store.

So since that little project is done, I felt productive and cleaned out the last closet that needed doing. I have four closets in my little condo and three are near and tidy and the fourth had a bunch of random stuff. It's nearly complete: I found a box that has miscellaneous stuff that needs editing so I can't say it's a completed project, but almost! By Prison Stories on Friday, it will be done.

On topic, Carleton is not succeeding I wager.

Wow, that is GREAT! I'm just starting to feel like I can start tackling the to do list. Go through the clothes again for donation, drop off stuff at the thrift shop, repaint the coffee table, then come spring get the porch set up with plants and some more seating. You've inspired me!

@ams1001 @Red Bridey I am proud of you both!  I still have a massive declutter to do, old furniture etc but my heart hasn’t been it so I keep putting it off.

I need to declutter. I need new carpet, a new mattress, do something with my kitchen...can't do any of that until I get all the crap out.

I find it very hard to get motivated in the winter, all I want to do is huddle in my blanket and pillow nest and read or watch TV.

I did a living room refresh recently, new rug, new lamp, new bookcases, (also purged literally hundreds of books) new pillow covers and throw blankets. Once I repaint the coffee table I'll be done. It looks SO NICE!

I got a new mattress in 2021, after I retired. Repainted my bedroom and I've found some really nice botanical prints at thrift stores. Every night when I nestle into my comfy bed I am filled with happiness.

So I have one more big project to do before spring. I have five or six of those heavy metal shelving units where I store my Xmas stuff, boxes of my mom's china, gardening stuff, you know, the usual basement stuff. They need to be culled so my plan is to do a shelf every week or two. Now that the kitchen totes are emptied and stacked I don't feel that low level of stress when I go downstairs, so I'm in no rush. And there's a lot of stuff I don't need and haven't used so I want a good purge.

Sort of a Swedish Death Cleaning!
