She just blasted Hegseth and many other Trump nominees, so I think she's still fighting the good fight. As for the pardon, two wrongs don't make a right. Hunter was also convicted of tax evasion. From the US Dept. of Justice website: Special Counsel David C. Weiss’s Office | Robert Hunter Biden Convicted on Three Felony Tax Offenses and Six Misdemeanor Tax Offenses | United States Department of Justice Robert Hunter Biden Convicted on Three Felony Tax Offenses and Six Misdemeanor Tax Offenses "According to the indictment, Hunter Biden engaged in a four-year scheme in which he chose not to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019 and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns. As alleged in the indictment, to further this scheme, Hunter Biden: subverted the payroll and tax withholding process of his own company by withdrawing millions outside of the payroll and tax withholding process; spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle rather than paying his tax bills; in 2018, stopped paying his outstanding and overdue taxes for tax year 2015; willfully failed to pay his 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 taxes on time, despite having access to funds to pay some or all of these taxes; willfully failed to file his 2017 and 2018 tax returns, on time; and when he did finally file his 2018 returns, included false business deductions in order to reduce the very substantial tax liability he faced as of February 2020." He skates and people cheer because it's sticking it to the other side so to hell with accountability. To hell with teaching actions have consequences. Who cares if he broke the law, right? Great examples for future generations. Just as I could never understand how parents explain their vote for an amoral person like Trump, to their children, I don't understand how supposed law-abiding citizens rationalize a supposed public servant giving preference to his convicted felon offspring. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8522690

Popular Post atomic December 2 Popular Post Share December 2 If Kamala had been elected I would not support Biden pardoning his son. I would have had faith that whatever happened to Hunter Biden was reasonable and within the scope of the rule of law. However, Trump has nominated people to lead the DOJ, AG, DHS, and FBI who have vowed to carry out Trump's plan of vengeance against all his perceived enemies. It would have been idiotic of Biden to have thrown his son to the wolves under those circumstances. Alyssa can just shove it with all her moral outrage over this while she doesn't have an ounce of the same energy for everything Trump has gotten away with or all the pardons he has abused for far more egregious crimes. 14 7 1 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8522700

KittyQ December 2 Share December 2 About Joe Biden pardoning Hunter after repeated saying he wouldn't do that - Whoopi: I've stopped calling these lies .... I don't know what all the pearl-clutching is about I'm curious, what are they then, if not lies? Misstatements? Misdirection? Wink and a nod? Fibs? Has the definition of "lie" changed when I wasn't paying attention? The panel has NO problem calling everything that some people say that isn't completely accurate and valid a "lie", so does "lie" only depend on who is saying it? I agree that Trump pardoned people who didn't deserved it, as did Bill Clinton, and other presidents. The pearl clutching isn't about the pardon itself - it really doesn't matter why Hunter was pardoned - he wasn't going to end up in Guantanamo or the Chateau D'If, after all - it is about the repeated statements that Biden wouldn't pardon him, which I think were meant to give Biden the appearance of objectivity and duty and devotion to justice which were then thrown out the window. If he had said that he would consider pardoning Hunter, at least that would be honest and I think people would understand that. Whoopi, it is the lying that results in the pearl-clutching. Don't pretend you don't get that. 5 1 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8522746

Buckeye71034 December 4 Share December 4 (edited) Look, I understand everyones frustration but Alyssa has always made it clear her opposition to trump was not policy but character and I think the scope of the loss made her feel like she was in a bubble given she convinced herself Kamala would win...she is also likely being advised by producers to represent other side more forcefully bc of trumps win. If she were to leave, they would likely feel pressured to add a full MAGA and redo Hasselbeck days so pick your poison folks. If Whoopi and Sunny would be less dismissive of criticism towards Biden and dems writ large, I dont think Alyssa and Sara would be taking the devils advocate role as much. They have both been visibly frustrated dealing with Sunny. Even Ana has gotten annoyed at Sunny's stubbornness. Popular Post GHScorpiosRule December 4 Popular Post Share December 4 (edited) STFU, Abby. And STFU to all the Democrats who are dragging Biden for pardoning Hunter. Everyone and I mean EVERY.ONE is acting as if Biden is the first president to change his mind and decide to pardon someone. And so what if it’s his son? Abby, just like Alyssa, is ignoring the fact WHY Hunter was charged and a target. Sunny pointed it out last week and again yesterday. As far as I’m concerned, this pardon does not in any way, change my mind about what and how I think of President Biden. Always wished they could've brought her back after McCain was finally kicked to the curb instead of hiring Alyssa, but I don't think she or Paula would have been interested in returning at the time because of personal life choices. It would be nice if Abby felt differently now, I'd take her over Sara or Alyssa, they both come across so bitter. I didn't watch Abby's tenure, so not familiar with her. She was okay, but geez, the girl needs to shut up once in a while... especially when Rachel was still telling everyone about the demise of her marriage. 18 hours ago, atomic said: Rachel Lindsay is also filling in today and I'm personally looking forward to her more. I really like her as a person and every time she shows up to guest co-host I think she does a great job. Yes, she would be a great addition! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8524237
Mollywolly555 December 4 Share December 4 I liked Rachel's honesty and her youthful viewpoint. She wd be a great addition to the table. Frankly, Sara is nice but she doesn't add much. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8524292

Same. He pardoned his son. Not someone who donated to his campaign. Not someone who started an insurrection on his behalf. Not someone he is trying to curry favor with. And as you said @GHScorpiosRule his prosecution was shady to begin with. Yes he broke the law. The gun charge is almost never applied unless the gun is involved in another crime. And that didn't happen here. The tax thing he made right. He paid the taxes and penalties if I'm not mistaken. So why charge him after he paid the money? If Trump had won in 2020 nobody would have even been thinking about Hunter Biden let alone trying to get him locked up. He was used as a weapon against his father. 15 2 1 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8524314

I've noticed Sara's and Alyssa's frustration with the others, too, but I see it more as a sign of their (Sara/Alyssa's) arrogance and the fact they don't even understand the show they're on. They seem to believe the other co-hosts are required to agree with their take otherwise they're being unreasonable, but this is an opinion show and the others don't agree with them. Talking double the time of the others, speaking after everyone, and making personal attacks isn't suddenly going to make them change their minds. They should accept that, they'd be less bitter. He made a very valid point about being objective when viewing both parties and calling out errors/bad behavior even when it is on your own "team". Whoopi and Sunny kept saying, "but what about Trump doing x,y,z... Why should Biden be held to a higher standard?" Charlamagne was saying that the Democrats held themselves out has having higher standards but when they fail to meet them, make excuses and point at Trump saying he's worse. Good for him for not backing down on his opinion. Does Whoopi really think that no one knows what she thinks? She hardly keeps her cards hidden. 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150888-the-view-week-of-1222024/#findComment-8524531
