The crew works to avert a major nautical crisis; tensions between Danni and Keith remain high; Gary attempts to drown his sorrows and despite Daisy trying to comfort him, he ends up making a mess and nearly taking out an eye.

Emma and Gary were just an employee/management mismatch. On one hand Emma had issues with making excuses and not performing her duties, and the yacht needs someone to do their job, I get it...BUT.. Gary is not a good manager and certainly does not have the specialized management skillsets that are necessary and what an "Emma type" of employee needs.

I've managed her type successfully before.  If you constantly criticize and browbeat them, they block and their brain fries. Not being able to tie a simple knot is a perfect example of the blocking. Gary just adds fuel to the fire with his poor attitude and comments toward her. I've told this story here before, but it bears repeating. I had and employee like Emma once and I adapted the "we're going to fix this together" attitude. That employee was headed toward dismissal but she turned around to being the top salesperson in the company. She did the hard work, I just helped with the path....a path that worked for her.

I saw potential in Emma and bet she could make a great deckhand but Gary sabotaged her and Glen wimped out and just believed him. Did you notice how Gary mentioned twice that maybe it was his fault? It's because he knows deep down that it probably was.

Meh, Emma didn't seem cut out for that job.

Dani is over the top in her feels. I didn't take what the deck guy said as mean. He was trying to banter. Seems she can only do sexual banter. And Daisy isn't overly critical though Dani takes her that way.

Gary, he is going to have to be fired right? For the last scene with Davide. No way around it, right?

Daisy and what's his name have a little spark...not chef but that deck hand Dani was trying for?

LOL, now there is HR? LOL, Gary throws a lollipop and it hits Davide in the eye area, I don't think Davide knew he was bleeding at first.  Just like Al Capone, he didn't go down for murder or illegal booze running no he got taken down because of tax evasion, the lollipop is the thing to take Gary down and not the dry humping every woman on every boat he has ever been on? LOL.

Gary seemed like he was holding back managing Emma, like maybe production told him she needed to go?

I think Danni is one of those girls that has to be the prettiest girls in the room at all times and when the guys don't trip over themselves trying to get to her she does not handle that well so she goes overboard trying to attract someone, anyone.  Danni is not the prettiest girl in the room on that boat and I think she knows it.

Are we taking bets on what Emma's next career is going to be?

I might agree had we not been privy to her work history. Emma herself told us she'd had 3+ previous career starts & stops. That tells me that the issue's with her. For all his faults, Gary is a decent bosun/leader, he likes training people & we've seen him successfully coach other junior deckhands. Emma was scattered, lazy & defensive. Like Daisy said "you can only lead someone who wants to be led"

Exactly.

Danni is a brat.

Yeah, I didn't see any potential for Emma to improve. I realize a lot of it is editing but they can only work with what they have and she just didn't seem to be able to do anything. Not even the simplest things like handing that guy a towel last week. I mean jeepers, she can't even get fired right.

I thought Gary was more than patient with Emma. We saw her standing around, smoking, not pitching in where she could. She had a comment when asked to do anything. Even cleaning the rails or windows!

I don't think Gary will be fired. He and Davide were drunk and horsing around while technically off duty.

I am not a fan of Gary's and can't believe I am coming to his defense.

Bad management or not, it would be pretty hard to sit there and watch basket case Emma collect her share of the tip.

Other than missing out on money, why does she care if she loses this job?

Obviously she didn't care enough about the job, going on her phone or smoking whenever she could.

She just stands around and when Gary teaches her something like how to hang the flag, she forgets it 30 minutes later.

Did she not think that she'd come across looking bad on this show?

In any event, doubtful that her stint on this show would get her a lot of yachting jobs, even if she wasn't such a screwup and a slacker.

Danni and Gary could have stayed away from each other.  Then he talked about how pancakes were called something else in Australia and she started an argument over it.

Now they get to go to the beach club so that she can start up some drama with the pool cabana boy.  Gee what a coincidence, they go back to the same pool club.

These guests, kind of on the old side for clubbing, went out on both nights?  Or they went as chaperones for their teen girls?  Did they show them in the club both nights or just the first time in the previous episode.

Anyways, they're in Ibiza so that's part of the scene but like those guests who went to the pool club, again much older than the other people there, it's probably the producers looking for something to film?

100%.  It's not that Emma wasn't being properly managed or trained, it's that Emma didn't care to try.  Or to work.  Even when she was convinced she was going to be fired before she actually got fired, she didn't put forth the effort that most people would if they were aiming to save their jobs.  Making mistakes isn't the problem (unless of course it could or does result in harm or injury to person or property); it's that she seemed utterly bored and uninterested when Gary was attempting to explain something to her.  I mean, even if she hadn't been doing day dockings and Gary and Keith were normally throwing the lines to the dock (whatever it's officially called), you don't tell your boss or supervisor "well, you and Keith normally do it" and walk away.  You can say I've never day docked before or I've never done this during a docking, can you show me very quickly and act like you actually want to learn and do it.   Gary has a shit ton of faults but IMO being a capable bosun/lead deckhand is not one of them.  And I do think he was legit upset that Emma was getting fired.

That said, Emma should have been relieved because it seems she was doing everything to get fired.

Glenn handled letting her go like a boss.  Very calm, patient and stressing how she just needs more experience.

That breakfast Cloyce made looked DELISH.  I love breakfast foods and that spread was amazing.

Someone should have gagged Danni with one of those lollipops instead of putting Davide's eye out.  Can't believe all that shrieking she was doing when they got back on the boat didn't wake up Glenn.  Honestly, at this point I wish someone would give her a poke; maybe she'd calm down.

Obviously Daisy and the stews are set for an explosion.  Daisy knows they have an issue with her but isn't going to press it.  Diana doesn't want to say anything because she likes both Daisy and Danni.  And Danni feels like Daisy picks on her because Daisy expects better time management.

Poor Keith had to bang on that wayward boat's forward cabin (thank goodness he didn't get shot), slept through Emma's firing, was blamed by Emma as one of the reasons for her firing, and then was called a dick by Danni.  He deserves better.

Rather than yelling ineffectually at the boat that was going to ram them, why didn't they blow the horn?

Gary didn't fuck up managing Emma - she just refused to learn anything.

Davide's eye looks terrible.

My very first thought too! More dramatic to bang on the Master window I guess.

Having owned a sailboat, if I was below, I'd pay more attention to someone rapping on my boat than blowing a horn -that could be for anything. Someone knocking on my boat would get my immediate attention.

Didn't Keith say that he smelled pot, I figure the owner was below getting high then hears knocking on his window then gets freaked out and runs up on deck, lol.

I think the horn would have disturbed the other boats docked near by, it was like 2am, right?

I thought that at first, but then I realized that when Gary was alone on deck, he probably thought it was better to keep eyes on the situation and try to prevent damage to the boat rather than run off to blow the horn.

And, as others have said, hearing someone knocking on the wall of a boat, when you're anchored out and not at a dock will certainly get some attention.
