Haleth November 25 Share November 25 (edited) I’m with Ana; no need to “wait and see.” When someone has shown you who they are, believe them the first time. I did agree with Whoopi though that Alyssa is listening for different things as she sheds her moderate façade and shows the heartless person within. On a superficial note, Colman Domingo is so handsome. Edited November 25 by Haleth 11 4 Link to comment

debbie311 November 25 Share November 25 Sunny looks so miserable sitting next to Alyssa and I don't blame her. She's a bit of a fraud as far as I am concerned. Alyssa is in the "let's wait and see if he will be presidential" camp. Hmmm ... we lived through four years of "waiting for him to be presidential." Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. 10 4 1 Link to comment

The things that are the most similar--besides the far right nutjobbery--are how the other co-hosts generally have their hands tied behind their back by The People That Be in their responses to her and the fact that she tries to speak before and after (occasionally during) everyone who doesn't agree with her--including Whoopi when she's trying to end the segment. She's been able to make things very personal in the way that she responds to Sunny and Ana in a way they aren't allowed to with her. Nobody seems allowed to bring up the fact that she was a Trump lackey or call into question her credibility or bring up her family background on the show the way she attempted bringing up Sunny's education last week during the voucher discussion, for example. Anyway, a quota of political views wasn't a part of Barbara Walters' description of the conceit for the show, just different backgrounds. Besides, even as far as far right co-hosts go, they've had better--Paula came across more genuine and nice than AlyssSSssa ever has. 2 1 3 Link to comment

atomic November 26 Share November 26 I thought it was rude of Alyssa to make that comment that her approach (flip-flopping to sane-washing Trump after years of warning us about how dangerous he is) is better than taking bubble baths for four years. Ana did not say everyone should take bubble baths for four years. She said she understands that a lot of people are going through it right now and are needing to take a break for the sake of their own mental health. Ana has been clear that her positions have not changed and she is not going to give up the fight no matter how much these MAGA trolls tell her to. She knows that disengaging long-term is what they want and after we take a break and have our feelings it is important to never cede ground to them and quit organizing. 5 2 4 Link to comment

Better for who? Alyssa is showing she was willing to play nice with the other team when it looked like the other team was going to win. But now she goes back to cheering on her team and expecting the other team to join her. Why is it always Democrats who are expected to work across the aisle? It took Trump starting an insurrection for not nearly enough Republicans to work with Democrats to prevent that from happening again. I can only speak for myself but there is no fucking way I'm going to support Trump in the name of unity or fear or whatever Republicans expect us to do. 8 1 7 Link to comment

AND that there was a bipartisan bill that would have helped, but her Dear Leader nixed it and everyone fell in line. So she can just SHUT IT. LoveIsJoy November 27 Share November 27 This show makes me mental sometimes. Even though Alyssa (IMO) has always shown herself to be a true conservative (total opposite of my thinking), I did always like her even when I rarely agreed with her. I’d never forgotten that she worked for Trump/Pence and that she was estranged from some family and friends for resigning and testifying against Trump. Maybe they’ve all forgiven her now. And there were 3 to 4 other hosts to effectively rebut her. To which I give Ana, Sunny, and Whoopi props👏🏽 for doing just that on numerous occasions. They spent the whole political season supporting, first Biden, and then Harris. The show gave numerous friendly interviews with vocal Harris supporters and Biden, and even Harris herself. Alyssa’s conservatism was basically swatted like a gnat unless she was in agreement with the rest of the table. Often by Whoopi who got the last word before throwing to commercial. Conversely, I agree with Ana much of the time, but I don’t like her personality at all. She seems like the popular mean-girl type. Ana identifies as R, but shows pics of herself beaming at Biden and was on the same page as Never Trumpers. I still find her personality unlikable. I feel most sorry for Sunny. I know she gets a bad rap by some for always bringing up race, but that is her perspective as a WOC. It had to be so painful to hear the other side demeaning Puerto Ricans (her ethnicity) and Haitians (her husband’s ethnicity) “eating pets” while half of Americans shrugged. In addition to her being a former prosecutor and watching this indicted felon get away with countless serious crimes because, you know, the price of eggs and kitchen table issues. To me, the problem isn’t Alyssa. She actually serves a purpose for what the show has become. The real problem is that millions of voters didn’t find his actions disqualifying. And the show was weighted heavily in Harris’ favor. I’m taking a little break from the news because it’s so depressing now. But I’m not in the mood for popcorn or waiting to see what happens. Sadly, I think I already know. 9 Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule November 27 Share November 27 I love Bobby Flay. But I have to admit, NONE of what he presented looked at all appetizing. Well, except for the punch. And Alyssa can again, just SHUT IT, with trying to hold Biden to a higher standard than everyone else, who has pardoned worse criminals, crooks, and insurrectionists. Okay, the latter hasn't happened yet, but I have no doubt it will. So I say, go ahead President Biden and pardon your son. Again, Alyssa, please take several seats. I'll be cuddled with my Gregory Peck dvds, and some Mark Harmon this weekend, and trying some new Indian recipes. Hope y'all have a safe and happy holiday! 5 3 Link to comment

bluegirl147 November 28 Share November 28 (edited) Two things. Hunter Biden was a drug addict when he committed the crimes he was accused of. In lot of states that would have carried a lot of weight with regard to the charges and sentencing being lenient. And his prosecution was political. If it had been Trump's son the charges would have disappeared. Only the coldest hearted people will fault Biden if he pardons his son. You know, Republicans.
