She's just like Megan McCain except MM had no poker face, Alyssa is all stealth.

Yeah Meghan couldn't hide her disdain for the cohosts that didn't agree with her.  Alyssa plays nice with them.  But now that her team has won I expect things to get less nice.

She said something similar today about waiting to see what happens with the cabinet nominees. She doesn’t see the havoc ahead?  She doesn’t think they want to tear down agencies?  That sounds an awful lot like “oh, he doesn’t really mean it.”

Speaking of letting the mask slip, Sara might have accidentally done the same thing yesterday...

Did Sara inadvertently admit she voted for Trump?  She said Trump's appointments were one of the consequences of her vote.

I am pretty sure she did. Does not surprise me that she would support Trump, but I really did not take her to be someone who would lie about it on air for months on end.

Jeebus Cripes on a Fucking Cracker!

Same regards to Alyssa saying he needs to surround himself with Good People. Like, who did she think all those Generals/military  staff were? Bad Actors?

Both can take a dose of STFU. Sara with her "good heart" and "good intentions" bullshit. And as for Alyssa? Well, I'm still not all right in the head yet, so I will say: I told you so! I've never trusted or liked her. Just because she smiles, laughs and seems to get along with the rest of the panel. She is who she is and went along until, what January 6 was her line in the sand? Riiiight.

I never bought her "I'm an Independent" declaration.  I always thought she  swung right and just didn't want to have to defend it.  She has talked about how deeply Republican her parents are so that probably influenced her political beliefs.

What does she think is going to happen?  He is purposely filling the positions with people loyal to him. People who will do whatever he tells them to. She needs to stop with her Pollyanna act and grow up.

So did she think Pence wasn't good people? Does she think Vance will be a better VP?

Either she is as dumb as some people have said she is or she is just trying to justify her gigantic lapse in judgement.  Or maybe she really does think he will give us the America she wants.  Hope her gay brother doesn't lose any rights.

Sounds like it to me but I am not surprised, I have always thought she was a lowkey Trumper

Why does Whoopi start the show with "You all look so familiar" to the audience.  I don't get it.  They don't tape more than one show a day, do these people come back day after day?

Sometimes they do, or they tape segments with guests that will be used later. I’m guessing they taped some shows that will air next week.

I guess I’m in the minority (or also naive…heh), but I took it to mean the opposite.  That the consequence of voting for Harris (who lost) means you end up with Trump (who won) and his appointments.  All the pundits have been saying “elections have consequences” and I think the phrase may not have come out as she intended.  I do think she is a Pollyanna type, maybe a little right-leaning, but I don’t see her as outright lying for months about her vote.   I do find her sincere, whether I agree with her or not.

Actually, AFAIK no panelist was required to divulge who they voted for, so I I don’t have any real feelings about who voted for whom.  Alyssa said she voted for Harris, and then Republican down ballot.  If she did, okay; if she didn’t, fine by me.  She’s always been a conservative so it wouldn’t surprise me either way.  Her personality is just generally likable, unlike an Ann Coulter or Megan McCain type.

I bet there are a lot of likable people who voted for Trump.

Half-paying attention but I believe they said Sunny and Alyssa were wearing guest Christian Siriano's creations.  That or the Zoot suit is back in style.

I wondered about that. I don't think it did him any favors to have that jacket look so ill fitting. I think he has so many nice clothes and he seems to be someone who makes clothes to fit many body types, so it is surprising that this would look like something she grabbed off a rack without checking the size.

About three weeks ago, Sunny did the podcast while wearing a pink blinged jacket Joy had worn on that day's show.  It was just a tad big for her.  She said she had admired it and Joy didn't like it so Joy gave it to her, and Sunny told Brian that 'over-sized' is trendy now.  So maybe she likes over-sized stuff.  I prefer well-fitted myself.

It's getting harder to listen to Hot Topics because everyone is interrupting everyone else. I cannot hear two or three people talking at the same time. I understand they are passionate about their beliefs, but it's frustrating to have someone start with their opinion and then three others are on top of them. I'm interested in everyone's opinion, but not like this.

I notice Anna loves the one-liners, hoping that it resonates with someone or other.

In past years, when they has summer pretapes for Friday, Joy moderated.  Whoopi was long gone by noon.  There's no reason to believe that will change.

Joy announced that her play/performance will kick into gear in January.  A dark Friday probably helps her maintain her "Friday" moderation.  Joy gets the three-day work week after 28 years.

Also, they do not use the same audience for both shows.  You have to request tickets for the 11AM show or the 1230PM show.  I'm sure some folks "double-up".

Someone upthread mentioned that the show is often pre-recording segments of the "live" show earlier than the 11AM airtime, mostly to accommodate the guest (and maybe when they have to re-format the stage for a performance).  That is likely what is driving Whoopi to be so fawning over the "familiar" audience.
