S47.E09: Nightmare Fuel

They start off pairing off.  For once couldn't Survivor change it up, go all Squid Game, and have each pair duke it out?

I'm in my late 60's, grew up in California going to the beach, and my skin doesn't look like Sue's.

So there are four Tukus plus Genevieve.  Then there's Gata (Sam and Rachel), the other one (Teeny and Sol), and Andy.  Even if the non-Tukus thought that Genevieve was still with them, wouldn't it have occurred to any of them that they should take the opportunity to get a Tuku out?  It's no secret that Tuku is tight.  

Caroline couldn't vote.  Assuming Genevieve voted with Tuku, they only have four votes.  The remainder could have taken out Sue or Kyle.  I just can't understand why Rachel wouldn't vote with Sam, Teeny and Sol.  Andy is just a dumbshit, he seems to be basking in his elation that FINALLY "somebody likes me" and thinks he is one of them.  No you idiot, they are just using your vote.  Tuku is using him just the same as Sam and Sierra were using him.  It's no different.  Does he really think he isn't at the bottom of the Tuku group?  At best now that he is a certified flipper, if he had any strategy, he would just keep an open mind and do what is best to keep advancing.  If everyone wants his vote, he will progress farther.

I don't understand what Rachel was doing.  Why did she think voting out Sol was a good idea?  After displaying astuteness last tribal with using her Shot to gauge whether she was a target, she really screwed up here.  She says she has to do what is best for herself, but I don't understand why she wouldn't have stuck with Sam and she thinks voting out a non-Tuku is a good idea.

If Rachel really wanted to make a name for herself, she would have told Sam about her idol.  Then she would have used the idol on Sol and gotten Kyle out of the game.

I don't understand why Genevieve thought she was this master planner and her "I can't believe that worked".  Why wouldn't it have worked?  They already knew they had Rachel and Andy locked in.

Genevieve and her Horseface give Nancy Kerrigan and Julia Roberts a run for their money.  When Genevieve opens her mouth, all those teeth!  She's like that contestant from the second Hunger Games that filed her teeth into razor points!

I don't get this mentality at all... why did Sam and Teeny feel the need to "fall in" to make it a unanimous vote against Sol?  The Tuku people all knew that Sam and Teeny were with Sol.  By voting for Sol, do Sam and Teeny feel like they will be accepted by Tuku as "one of us" now?  Of course they won't be.  They were at the bottom going into the vote.  They are still at the bottom after the vote.  

At the very least, vote for Sue in a show of solidarity with Sol, and giving the finger to Tuku.  Tuku will still target them no matter how they voted.

it seemed like a really unnecessary move for Genevieve. She outs herself as someone who is playing hard--or can be described as a threat as an excuse to turn the spotlight on her---for what? it makes sense if she's getting rid of a big threat but can't see how Sol was that at this point. He could have been later, but she lost someone who viewed her as an ally, missed a chance to get rid of Kyle, and labeled herself someone you should get rid of. Timing seemed very off. 

Andy is annoying. I get not enjoying being at the bottom of your tribe and I respect not just sitting back and letting it happen. But it would be nice if his confessionals indicated a bit of awareness/humility. He wasn't at the bottom because he wasn't cool. He was at the bottom because he freaked out after the first immunity and made himself seem to be unreliable and unstable. He doesn't have to play Sam's game the whole time as a "thank you for not voting me out" but a little bit of "I appreciate they didn't vote me out that first vote and gave me a 2nd chance, but I still need to play the game that is best for me at this point" would be helpful. Not the smug/I'm a dirty player crap.

Perhaps Andy is angling for that empty spot next to Gabe on the Survivor Mt. Rushmore.  Boston Rob and Sandra weren't that great anyway.

I think I zone out in befuddlement whenever I see Andy onscreen, because he seems to enjoy telling us how awesome he is while boop-de-doop music plays in the background.  Is he actually good?  Is he getting a clown edit?  Is he purposely bungling challenges?  He's totally going to win this game, isn't he?

I also understood about 5% of what was going on in that drawn-out whispering TC.  Normally I enjoy that stuff and will rewind and catch what I missed the first time around, but not this time.  I'm tired.

I’m not sure if I missed something or if there was something weird with the editing but why was there a discussion about voting out Gabe after he had won immunity? Or am I just imagining things? I think it was between Sue and Genevieve?

Genevieve informed Sue that Sol and Sam mentioned wanting Gabe out before the immunity challenge, that's why Sue was convinced to get rid of Sol.

I think they did it because they knew it was going to be Sol even without their votes.  If they had voted for someone else they'd risk pissing off that person for no reason.

It's really getting out of control. Every single activity, right down to the bidding at the auction has an element of "lose your vote." When it was a once in awhile thing tied to the Beware advantages and people could choose to leave the advantage, it was okay. But now that every damn thing they do puts their vote at risk, it's overkill.

Also, voting for people has been part of the game since Day 1 and taking that power away from some people in every episode changes the game too much.

No he is not going to win the game.  He has flipped on too many people and still remains a bottom feeder.

Yes he has been getting the clown edit.  That is why he gets all the air time.

Kyle has beautiful eyes, and so does Teeny--but I am most impressed with Teeny's flawless skin!  I actually sometimes have to rewind because I am always observing out loud how beautiful their skin is.

Yeah, Teeny's eyes and skin are gorgeous, especially in the firelight at tribal.

 I need to pay more attention to kyle’s eyes.  Agree Teeny does have lovely skin. They should be in a soap commercial.

It’s a crime - the teeth don’t even seem to fit into her mouth. She has to purse her lips around them to even close her mouth.
