In other news:

  • I think I may have inadvertently replied to an AI trollbot on a former work colleague's FB post.  I'm so embarrassed.
  • One unrelated relative is very MAGA and posted a video of the marines on the road to LA with this caption: LFG!💪
Does anyone here know what that means?

I looked it up. It's from gaming and stands for Let's Fu****g Go!

I shared my situation with friends on Facebook. I'm not going tomorrow. Best case, nothing happens at the rally near me and I feel like a grade-A jerk for going like I always do. I just feel like I should be doing more than being a wiseass on social media in order to combat the looming dread as well as to get laughs.

I have never ever seen the title written like that. I had to poke around this thread before I realized "EA" meant "Excellent Adventure."

This has been going on for YEARS.  I watched a documentary on abortion clinics closing and people having to travel over state lines when Bush or Clinton was in office.  Disabled people have been struggling for adequate care since I can remember.  Trump is not the reason children are starving.  These are signs that the government has been broken for a very long time.

And yet women still had the right to have an abortion under those administrations - even with the Bush administration's efforts to try and pass abortion restrictions, Roe vs. Wade was still law of the land.

Now thanks to Trump's SC appointees, women don't even have that protection to fall back on anymore. So yeah. He has a lot to answer for and is just as responsible for the hellhole our country currently finds itself in.

There absolutely have been issues in our government for years when it comes to ensuring the poor, sick, and vulnerable of society get the help they need - but see, that's why people shouldn't have voted for or supported Trump. 'Cause he has no interest in doing anything to help fix any of those issues. Nor do his administration. They'd rather do things like, y'know, mock us for being worried about people dying if they can't afford to go to a doctor. And ensure that women who need an abortion don't have the right or opportunity to have one. And things of that sort.

There is so much more that is happening, that you are totally ignoring.

My dad didn't get his days switched yet, after all, so I don't know if I can get to one now. I'm so disappointed.

It is the least we can do. I figure if you can’t get to one stand on the highway with a sign.
i was in a bus following a cybertruck yeaterday. What a stupid looking vehicle.

This year's prom flex:  rent a Cybertruck.  We saw some kids posing with one this week in Manhattan.

I'm heading to a small march on Long Island as long as rain holds up.  The Manhattan march was supposed to be huge, but rain may affect numbers . . .

I’m in the van, waiting for my dad to load everything.  He’s late, because of me. He said he would pause deliveries, and go to one of the protests with me. I was rushing around, trying to get ready in time to come out with him.

There’s one happening in cuyahoga falls, that we’re closest to on his schedule.  That’s in two hours.  The other one is Akron at 2pm. I couldn’t do anything if I stayed home, except walk up and down my neighborhood. I live in nowheresville. Nothing is happening there.

This site just reloaded on me, before I posted. I have my regular camera, because people have said to leave your phone, but I doubt anything will happen where I am, and my political beliefs are well-known by now, if the feds are tracking me.

I just read that two MN state legislators were shot & are in serious condition. The shooter was posing as a law enforcement officer. Both legislators are Democrats.

I don't know the specifics of this situation, but a country where masked people, claiming to be law enforcement,  are being applauded for snatching people off the streets, is a country ripe for situations such as this.

One is dead--Rep. Melissa Hortman. The other, Sen. Hoffman and his wife were shot multiple times and are expected to survive (following surgery according to Gov. Walz).

How horrible!   And why do we all know that Trump will not be presidential in his response to this - unless someone else is posting on his behalf.

This is so sad. These are not my state legislators but  I live in Minneapolis only 30 minutes from their districts

Rep Hortman’s husband was also killed

BTW, in case it matters, I'm one of the people they want dead.  I think it's OK if I'm insulted by people who agree with policies that will hasten my death or make my last years miserable.

As a Canadian I am also one of the people he has targeted,  with his tariffs, his insults and, of course, with his threats of a takeover.  I am really not going to play nice with anyone who supports this, or who may not support it but hand waves it away with a "well that's just his way".  Either is totally unacceptable to me.

No matter what happens today let’s not forget that this is the kind of person that serves in his “administration”

From Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent:

“Happy Birthday to President Trump who is leading the most consequential political movement in modern history and ushering in a new Golden Age in America. It is fitting that one of the greatest patriots to ever serve the American people was born on Flag Day which we are also commemorating today”

According to CBS news,  the assassin  (Vance Boelter) had abortion providers and pro-choice advocates on his kill list:

"There was an extensive list of possible targets among writings found in Boelter's vehicle. The list included more than 50 individuals including officials outside of Minnesota, and including abortion rights advocates and abortion facilities."

My fear is the tragedy in Minnesota is going to be just the beginning. If they don't take the shooter alive the right is going to spin the same narrative they always spin. That he was a leftie and this was planned by antifa or some shit.

I don’t know what to make of this

The suspected shooter was appointed to the nonpartisan Governor’s Workforce Development Council

First in 2016 by former Governor Mark Dayton then again in 2019 by Governor Walz. His term then expired in 2023

Exacly - so many anti-abortion terrorists see themselves as having the sacred duty to kill nurses, doctors, and patients in the name of God, when they're nothing but serial killers. Sick beyond belief.

Boelter is the CEO of Praetorian Guard Security Services, so it might be some time before he's found - unfortunately, he'll know how to evade police:

"Boelter is reportedly the CEO of Red Lion Group, which is based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to LinkedIn. The Minnesota Africans United website also indicated he is the CEO of Praetorian Guard Security Services. The company website says that Boelter serves as the director of security patrols and has had training by people in the U.S. Military."

Then there’s this guy

Brevard County FL Sheriff this morning:

“If you throw a brick a firebomb or point a gun at one of our deputies we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at because we will kill you graveyard dead”

MAGA is terrified of American citizens and throwing out threats thinking they can quell our rights

Corrected my previous post - the security firm is called The Praetorian Guard Security Services (not The Red Lion Group).

Could be, but it feels like he's a true believer, imo. Killing abortion providers is usually driven by (perverted) morality, not money. But it's early days in the investigation & my sense of it could be completely wrong  - who knows what else they're going to find?

Because stupid politicians like DeSantis contribute to the amplified feelings of resentment and radicalization. Since the state legislature predominantly leans toward MAGA, it doesn't particularly surprise me either. One minute, we're a "nation of laws" and the next, there are state leaders encouraging lawlessness. So which is it?

Who would say that in a polite society? They're supposed to enforce the law, not act as judge, jury, and executioner — that's not what a civil society is about. And they wonder why trust and morale in law enforcement is so low.

Who is there to protect us from them? It's so sad..😟

Whatever his motive this tragedy  has taken attention way from the No Kings protests.  At this point I would believe just about anything.  We are sailing in uncharted waters.

My husband just called me from downtown Kirkland, our little lakefront city and there are over three thousand No Kings protesters marching down the main street. He said he's taken so many pictures, his camera overheated.

This is true, but it's also taken some attention away from the Tin Pot Dictator "Per"ade (this is how Trump spelled it today).

I am glad, if surprised, that none of the major networks, or at least none my cable company carries anyway, are showing the Perade.
