Stayed up REALLY late last night to watch Colbert because Sen. Schumer was scheduled. March Madness basketball was pushing everything back. I was really disappointed as Schumer was essentially there to promote his new book. He didn't say much, or at least say much to inspire any hope. 😞

Speaking of Social Security, this month, it was reported that the agency's website crashed four times in ten days due to overloaded servers. And as a result, millions of Americans who rely on Social Security were unable to access their accounts. Something like 40+ field offices have been slated for closure, and we now have SS officials manning phones because of the anxiety that SS recipients have about their benefits and what's going on because of the lack of transparency, essentially. It's such a mess, even some Republican senators (like Grassley, Daines, and Cassidy) are supposedly concerned because they've not ever received any heads up from the SSA on any of these things going on despite them saying Musk "has no real power." 

I think someone mentioned it here once before, but DOGE revised a proposal at the SSA to require most beneficiaries to verify their identity in person at a field office to receive their service. Phone services for signing up for benefits or changing your account information? Cut off. Way to screw over those in rural districts or who have limited mobility to access such things.  Thank goodness a federal judge temporarily blocked DOGE staffers from accessing any more sensitive data from these agencies for the time being. The acting commissioner is such a tool for Musk, it's a joke.

Well this is fucked up

On Friday the WI AG sued to stop Elon Musk from handing out $2 million to try to influence and buy the SC election

A judge declined to stop Musk who is also planning on giving $100 to voters for signing a petition to stop activist judges (more MAGA fever dreams)

The AG has immediately appealed the decision

When Kamala was running for election I was sickened by the memes and cartoons I saw that asserted she'd slept her way to the top (most of these were graphic and gross) and now I am just as sickened by the memes and cartoons I am seeing about Kristi Noem et al - the 'creators' basically just took out one woman and inserted another. 

Anyway I truly hope that decent people hate this no matter who it's applied to.  If you think it's funny or true when it's applied to the 'other side' then you need a time out where you can reflect on just what's wrong with you.

The guy standing behind Vance looks like he'd rather be just about anywhere else!

Just read that they traveled all the way to Greenland and stayed a grand total of three hours.  All of which were spent at the US military base there.  Vance managed to threaten Denmark of course.  So it was all worth it.

There are so many valid reasons to hate on Noem.  She killed a dog.  She is using her position to humiliate detainees.  And she allegedly had an affair with Corey Lewandowski who is just so gross.

RFK Jr plans to layoff all workers from the Office of Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS policy 

This comes after yesterday’s resignation of Dr Peter Marks the top official of the FDA who criticized Jr for promoting “misinformation and lies”. Dr Marks coined the phrase Operation Warp Speed. FDA officials say Dr Marks was told to resign or be fired 

This is just the latest destruction of the HHS by junior and fulfilling the dreams and wishes of the MAGAs

Good luck to the rest of us because I don’t know what in the hell this means for us if we get sick, end up with cancer or another catastrophic disease or if there’s another world wide pandemic 

Jr’s motto he tosses out there is MAHA

Agree. I hate Kristi Noem as much as the next person but would never resort to that kind of attack.  It's not funny regardless of what side it is.

I don’t think she got where she is because she slept around. She got to where she is because she murdered her own goddamn dog, and that gave Donald a feeling in his soiled boxers. If you are a horrible person that can carry the MAGA banner, Donald Trump wants you. And those selected by him pay it forward by picking the worst of the worst (the crème de la crap, if you will) to follow them.

She killed her dog, and she’s not (figuratively) buried somewhere out of sight and mind. I’m not a happy camper at the best of times, and people like her don’t make things better for me.

I went to a comic show today. Wound up getting three sketches and I set up a commission. Even while checking the news and cringing at what we’ve become, I had a decent time. Bonus: while driving, I saw a groundhog. Big guy, too.

Just saw an idiotic post from some Trumper claiming that adding the "rabidly anti-Trump journalist" was intentional and all part of some deep plot by Trump.  He called it "media strategy".  This is the level of intelligence we're dealing with - not that someone says this nonsense, but that they expect it to be believed.  It's horrifying actually.

Speaking of groundhogs there was one in my yard earlier.  I throw out produce I'm done with and he or she always comes and eats it.  I also throw out bread and apples and a lot of deer come to eat that. This year's fawns will come back as mamas with their fawns next year.  Joy of living in the country.

And the reason would be? Media strategy? Sure.  I'm sure they planned to have some of them hauled before congress.  And be thought of as even bigger joke than originally thought.  And why isn't more attention being paid to Trump continuing to say I don't know or I nothing about it to everything that looks bad.  So is he running a tight ship like MAGA likes to believe or is he totally fucking clueless like the rest of us believe?
