Daisy summons a mermaid from the sea to give the primary a magical 60th birthday, but a disastrous cake mishap puts the entire evening in jeopardy; the stews argue over a cocktail training exercise gone wrong; Emma unloads on them during a night out.

I would have wanted to yell at the guests that’s not a real mermaid. What an odd thing for a 60th birthday celebration.
Cloyce claiming that a 60 year old would rather drink than have a nice looking cake as an excuse for not doing his job was pathetic. If you’re going to order a cake, order something good.

Kind of suspicious that the guests MUST have lunch as soon as they’re back at 4 PM, because they also have to have dinner as well.

Did the guests want to sit at the table still in their swimsuits, as opposed to taking a shower or at least freshening up?

Did they not eat anything at their outing, however long it was?  Did they not eat just before going to that floating island?

If they had breakfast before 10 AM and just had snacks and drinks on that floating island, then it might make sense that they would have to eat right away, even in their swimsuits, maybe still dripping water on the chairs and floors.

Otherwise the setup seems like a way to make a big deal out of Cloyce going to the outing to swim himself, though he also said he was helping serving the guests.

He also said in his previous yacht jobs, he did similar things.

In any event, he’s the leading candidate to be fired and since this is BDverse, they also showed both junior stews being pissy about housekeeping or Diana learning to mix cocktails.

interesting, they sign up for this ‘job’ and complain about some of the duties.  Whom did they think would be cleaning the cabins?

Emma is a slacker too, taking cigarette breaks while reclining on deck.  Presumably she wasn’t off duty or usually they don’t stay on deck when off duty.

The race to be fired is off to a rousing start.

I have noticed that the stews that complain the most about their job duties are usually the ones that are the worst at their jobs. Refusing to take part in a job training such as bartending is as good as quitting in my book.

Emma is older than the typical deckhand, I am surprised she is taking such a relaxed attitude about her job, not really trying to do better or care to do the task at hand correctly. Where is her integrity?

Chef Cloyce is young and dumb, his chef game is good, not great but good enough to get him in the door but his attitude will hold him back professionally...Glenn was almost too nice to Chef, Lee would have read him the riot act while telling him he has three peckers and a chicken is nearby (or something folksy like that nonsense he spews) and Sandy would have called him the fish that stinks at the head, dismissed him then quickly texted Norma for a replacement, lol.

The guests had to be egged on by producers about needing to eat ASAP, they sat there in their wet bathing suits whining like toddlers. I hope the seats were still wet when they sat for dinner.

Why would you want or need a DJ for five people? How awkward, that hot tub scene was awkward as well.

Glenn learning how to do Sudoku, priceless.

Those blue drinks looked spectacular.

I think mixing drinks for your fellow crew members is a fun and easy way to learn how to do it.  It is a skill you need if you are a stew.  The crew are your friends and won't complain if it's not perfect.  What is wrong with the two of them?

If someone spills red wine on a white carpet, you want salt to pull the liquid out, not more liquid.

There's something wrong with Emma. She's reacting to Gary as though he's picking on her or snapping at her and all he's doing is correcting her mistakes. Which are rookie mistakes she shouldn't be making if she's been doing this as long as she claims she has. Then that whole outburst with the two stews, WTF was that? On top of it all, did she throw her cigarette butt into the ocean? I hate to think she's littering too.

There's something wrong with the stews, too. Both are whining they don't want to do housekeeping - WTH did they think this job was? It's like getting a job as a chauffeur then complaining you don't want to drive.

That cake was hideous even before Cloyce ruined it by microwaving it. WTF.

Any one of these bozos could and should be fired.

Oh, so that is what he was doing. I wondered. The random cuts to Glenn entertaining himself are always amusing.

I think she just flicked the hot ash (burning part) off of it into the water. Not the whole butt including filter. I know a lot of smokers.

The background Emma shared was telling, she's had 3-5 "careers" already (from memory: real estate agent, personal trainer, did she say insurance too?). So I'm guessing that she's a delicate flower who doesn't welcome feedback, gets quickly discouraged & quits. She's paired with a bosun who knows his stuff but is lazy & doesn't want to spend time training anyone. Good match.

There's something off with Cloyce. The fact that the entire staff was thrown by his demand to be included on the guest excursion tells me that's not typical, despite his claims that other captains were cool with it. Maybe on boats with more than one chef but certainly not when he's responsible for both guest & crew food.

The cake/strudel thing was a debacle. Also, did their entire dinner consist on that one plate with the seafood roll thing?  It looked like an appetizer to me yet after clearing they immediately began talking dessert & DJ.

The stews arguing about who's turn it is to do cabins yet how is Daisy supposed to be comfortable putting either on service alone if they can't make drinks? At least Danni was open to training while Diane couldn't be bothered.

This old lady would not rather drink than eat cake.  Who warms up a cake first?  And no candles?  I've earned every one of mine.

What did the deck lady said that upset the 2 stews so much?  Looks like manufactured drama  to me.

Can't believe the stews don't want to work and learn and get promoted.

I get cleaning cabins is not fun...but it is a start to becoming a Chief Stew.

I also wonder why they don't both make the beds together since that is the most longest and difficult job...and then divide up the cabins to clean.

It's always easier and more efficient to make a bed from both sides, if they're accessible.  They just can't figure that out.  (Or don't want to :))

I am here to say they choose NOT to.  It seems as though they think if they complain about it enough, Daisy will just let them do service.  Um no, you will be fired and replaced with Stews the understand the assignment.

Does it seem as though Bravo decided to have several incompetent cast members instead just one, maybe two?  From the deck crew to interior they have issues.  This does not make the show more entertaining so please stop.  Show us more of where they are anchored.  That spot that Gary found for the guests to hang out for the afternoon was awesome.  I can't believe it wasn't packed with people it was so nice.

I think it's just getting harder and harder to find people to be on this show because actual yachties want nothing to do with it (no fools they). I think for the most part these people are just randos from generic reality show casting pools. They are given a couple weeks of training so they have the proper certificates then they're given a phony backstory about having been in yachting for a couple years. Which doesn't add up when it turns out they can't even properly secure the lines (Emma) or know how to make drinks (Danni/Diana).

I think it's telling that Danni said something about what she learned at "stew school" since there is obviously no such place. I'm guessing she's referring to the couple weeks of training she had to go through to be on this show.

I completely agree with all the posters who commented that the two stews are being unreasonable.  Their job description includes housekeeping, yet all they can do is whine and complain about it.  And then, Daisy comes up with a fun way to practice their bartending skills and Diana walks off in a huff.  If I were Daisy, I would be very frustrated. Add to that, Cloyce's cake was a disaster.  I thought they could have sent someone ashore to pick up a new one, but no, he covered it in whipped cream, then didn't present it, and by the end of the night, no one had eaten it!  Yikes!

I think the deck crew ate most of the cake. I mean, I would have been disgusted if it were my Birthday Cake, but as a generic "cake", I'd have probably eaten and enjoyed it. Unless the microwaving (really, Cloyce?) ruined the texture.
