Before we even saw Sam crying in her truck, I was tearing up. I wonder if the woman with the other dog adopted him after seeing the pic on Sam's phone. Probably not.

All in all, very sad for Sam. All her family (which includes friends) are pairing off with other people. That definitely hurts. However! There's always Viglundur Hjartarson!

BTW, I need some refreshing on the who's and the what's. The house that the Icelandic guy is renting... Is that Sam & Tricia's parents' house? Are Sam and Tricia living together now? Is that Tricia's house or Sam's?

What is CCQ?

Loved the scene with Joel and Brad in Brad's kitchen as they try to figure out how to combine their stuff. I wonder if they will have problems living together. I hope not, and I actually think that we've been shown something that would become a big issue in other shows, but won't in this one. "Brad, are we having our first fight?" Since this was said in a joking way, I don't think they'll have insurmountable problems adjusting to each other.

"Don't you dare stack Corningware."

Joel to Fred: "I've never heard you say the word 'broccoli' before."

I love all the little moments.

This show is so brilliant in how it portrays these little things as so important for Sam.

I know Bridget Everett is a pom owner, so I wasn't surprised to see her fall in love with Pepper, but I'm hoping she'll wind up going back to the shelter. The show did a great job of introducing how great pets can be for people, and how Sam's now so scared of losing people she's afraid to take a chance even on a dog.

It's funny, I remember last season there was some suspicions about Fred's wife, or at least it was easy to feel like she was a sudden interloper like she felt to Sam, but it really is annoying that she's coming in with rules about Fred not having his weekly brunch with Sam and Joel. I know she just doesn't get how important it is for Sam and that she's worried about Fred's health, but it's still, imo, too presumptuous--especially having it replaced with a sport. I wonder if it'll turn out that she's threatened by Sam in some way.

Loving our Icelandic border--and totally believed that Tricia would consider him smelly because he looked smelly even when he wasn't.

Can it be effective when a spouse pesters a person into a more healthy lifestyle the way it is happening to Fred now? From what I have seen the motivation has to come from inside.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Particularly when she's not only having him on a different diet, but she's making him cancel a weekly brunch with friends? Even if you've got him on a healthy diet you can let the man have French toast once a week. Especially when you're taking away a social thing that he loves.

It seems like he's just going with it now because they're in a honeymoon phase and either he'll turn out to be the kind of person who lets their spouse run their life or he'll start ignoring it for his own happiness.

Sam is living in her deceased sister's house.

The Icelandic guy is renting Sam's parents' house. Tricia lives in her own house which she previously shared with her ex-husband.

I think I got that all right. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

What I love about this show is that the characters are complex but the storyline is simple. Everyone is trying to live their life and get by, hoping to ward off the demons and find a happy place.

Sam has to find a way to create her own happiness which doesn't always depend on others. It is great how the writers have developed this scenario where the important people in her life are also finding their own way but, unfortunately for Sam, it puts her on the outside a bit.

And Joel was living at Sam’s house but just recently moved in with Brad, am I remembering that correctly?

So I misinterpreted when Sam came over to Tricia's. Thanks for the info.

I was briefly confused as well, I think because Tricia left her there at the house as if Sam would naturally be and stay there without her.

Right. Me too. But I guess since they were supposed to spend the evening together, Tricia left her a dinner.

Right. They were supposed to hang out there with Tricia having made them dinner.

Tough day for Sam, first thinking that their gatherings at The Chef were over, then she misses out on the dog, Joel doesn’t have time for her and finally Tricia leaves her alone as she pursues her new life. That is a lot to take.

Joel had a house all along, which he's now selling.

If I recall correctly (someone tell me if I'm wrong), Sam and Joel were living together before this. I'm not sure if they were living together in Sam's sister's house, though, or in Joel's.

My memory was that they were living in Sam's house and Joel was renting his house out?
