I did a little thrift/antique shopping, and spent too much money on a vintage rabbit cake mold! I went to one thrift store that had outrageous prices on their furniture. I'm not sure how they ever sell anything.

We sometimes go to a Savers in a much tonier suburb than in our area. Their stuff is priced to SELL. Much cheaper than our usual Savers. We were astonished and on our first visit filled our cart to overflowing and spent about $200!

Hi all!  We meal-prepped some great food today and my man installed a new mirror in my bathroom (to hold my zillion of products) and it looks so good!

Hope everyone else's weekend was good.

Matilda is so cute.

Matilda looked adorable in that outfit, and I love her hair like that.

Thanks for asking, how are you doing?

Pet scan last week seemed to be okay. Tomorrow is my bone density but I am worried we might get some snow and I am afraid of falling on way to the car service car! Wednesday is the dreaded bone marrow biopsy.

But this weekend I am so sad because I got an email yesterday from my hair salon. The guy who is a co owner and cuts my hair is British and we have been friends for almost 20 years! And the email said his wife (he talked about her and their 2 kids, now college students) died unexpectedly, without pain, with her family present, last weekend! She was only like 54 or so.

I am just so floored and sad for my friend. I never heard anything about any illness, though maybe he just wouldn’t say. But she was working, active. Now I am fearing the worst.

I had a few days off, which was nice. Work should be interesting. We just found out that someone unqualified was offered a job instead of the person who should have gotten it. It probably won't directly affect me, but it will affect other people who don't deserve to be involved in this mess. I also found out that if I can stay at my job, I might be able to retire a few years sooner. I might need some Xanax to get through the week!

Oh no I am so sorry. That is terrible and tragic. I am pulling for you and I have confidence that your tests will turn out great. I am okay thanks. The bank of course is asking for the estate fees etc but no word on the money that they owe me…outside of probate. They are assholes….zero empathy. They knew my mom…we were all in the branch all the time…but won’t help me get the mutual fund that my name is on as a beneficiary. It sounds bad but I don’t care about the money but I have to pay her property tax etc and don’t have the cash.

Hi all!! We're preparing for a big snowstorm here in DC, the first one in years.

As a New Englander, I counsel an immediate trip to your local grocery store to stock up on bread, milk and beer. The memory of the Blizzard of 78 looms large here, and now at the first hint of a snowflake the stores are jammed. Be prepared!

Oh no! That is so discouraging. The last thing you need is all this administrative hassle. I hope things fall into place soon. Sending hugs.

Banks are like insurance companies. They are always happy to take your money but when the shit hits the fan, they’ll make sure to slow walk every fucking request. Sorry you have to deal with this. Would it be worth hiring a lawyer for a few hours, one who would be able to tell the bank what’s what?

@Pepper Mostly, don’t forget that in DC, one inch of snow shuts down the entire city. She might need those 25 year prepper meals!
