Tevin should have let Q quit.

So we still got a blindside.

Wait, they're not even voting out Q and they're voting Tevin out.

Hot damn.

I was fully expecting some Q votes from Tiffany and Kenzie.  But clearly that trust is gone and Q will no doubt be on their radar now.

Honestly, Tevin should be furious.

Q wants to quit and Jeff allows a vote AND everyone but him and Hunter vote out Venus.

I wouldn't blame him for being mad. It's ridiculous that Jeff allowed Q to whine about wanting to quit and not doing it.

Am I naive to think this was part of a plan by Q to stay in the game? I guess we’ll find out in the next episode.

If it was a plan, it was a terrible plan.

He's gonna likely brag about how it was his plan, but given how NOBODY knew about it and it made Q look like a pathetic quitter, it didn't work in his favour.

They're just gonna want him out sooner.

He'll probably frame it as that, even if it's not true (and I think he wanted out because he no longer had control and realized other people are playing).

That's what it seems like, but he wasn't even in danger, was he ?

Good Lord. We can't even get rid of Q when he offers to quit.

He's going to win.

What a shit season.

No, I’m thinking Hunter has this. I’m probably being more naive, but I think he’s got it on lock.

You can even tell his mindset with how he thought him "graciously quitting" would put everyone back on an even playing field.

No, Q, the game doesn't completely change just because you've been voted out. It goes to show that he even truly believed that he was not just in control, the entire game revolved around him.

And now I think that's genuine.

Nah, they're going to wait when they're back at camp to strategize with that information. They were smart to stick to the plan they had coming in despite Q's nonsense and distraction.

But as I said, he's put a big 'ol target on his back. That so-called aliance of six is well and truly dead. Q has shown he's a loose cannon, and Charlie was already wary of him, Hunter likely doesn't trust any of these people anymore and Tiff knows they considered coming for her.

Will be interesting to see how Hunter moves forward because I don't think he was really close to anyone but Tevin and he's a physical threat. But he's also a bit of loner and that might help in minimizing him as a social threat.

If Q wins after all these shenanigans, it will be worse than Gabler imo.

Luckily, he shot his way to a win through the ground. Nobody respects him now. Even Liz can now win against Q.

Except he was in no danger of being voted out. The tribe was torn between Tiffany and Tevin. Q was safe. And all this mess did was put a massive target on his back.

Tevin had a good attitude about being blindsided. He was disappointed yes but still had fun with it; enjoying the moment of Jeff's snuffing his torch.

Damn it all. I didnt like Tevin but Q is insufferable. Hopefully he will go next week. He just put a huge target on his butt and he is not a challenge beast (except in his own mind)

Dammit.  I liked Tevin.

Loved Hunter in the tree and Hunter killing the immunity challenge.  I agreed with Venus that she would probably win  it but.......no.  It turns out that she did not have the upper body strength.

I get that you like him, but no chance.  He was on the wrong side of the vote.  No winner has ever been.

There have been many winners who were at the wrong side of votes at different points of the season. I don't think Hunter is winning either, mostly because he's too big of a physical threat and so they'll gun for him as quickly as possible.

But I don't think his not being on the side of this vote means it is certain he won't win.

Maybe not, but the fact that he demonstrated his complete lack of power in stopping the vote does mean that.  For such a fan of the show, he certainly doesn't seem that in tune with the strategic or social parts of it.

He was ONE vote when all of the tribe agreed to vote out Tevin. How was he supposed to change that? And as for not being in tune with the strategic part of the game, once again, they were supposedly in an alliance where they'd agreed to vote for Tiffany.

Liz however floats the idea of Tevin to the others and they all agree to it, leaving Q and Hunter, and well Tevin, as the odd ones out. And for all the stupid shit he said and did last night, the one smart thing Q said, when telling Hunter that the vote changed, was that he wasn't going to mess up the game for one person.

In other words, at that point, even Q seemed to accept that it was Tevin and there was nothing they could do. So how exactly was Hunter supposed to flip that? And do so without putting a big target on his back if he tried too hard to save Tevin. That's how Tim screwed himself. Fighting too hard for old Siga members, making the other tribe members question where his real loyalty lay.

He wasn't.  Oh, but he certainly tried.  The talk that Venus tried to break up was his attempt to flip it.  And, as we saw, failed miserably, given the landslide vote against Tevin.

Easy, really:

  1. Hunter talks up Tevin as the “obvious” choice - not a hard sell (obviously).
  2. Hunter “suggests” since Tevin’s eviction is a fait accompli, a dogpile on Tevin would be everybody’s safest option.
  3. Hunter then plays his idol for Tevin.

Assuming the TC vote continued as it did in reality, Hunter’s and Tevin’s votes would be the only votes counted - meaning Hunter would’ve held on to his #1, and Venus would be the one eating burgers at Ponderosa.

All this, however, would presume a fact not necessarily in evidence - i.e., that Hunter felt his alliance with Tevin was strong enough to warrant burning an (actually!!!) secret idol for.

Just to clarify: just because Hunter could’ve played his idol for Tevin, I that doesn’t necessarily mean I think Hunter should’ve done so.  Let’s look at those options:

  1. Hunter plays his idol for Tevin, and Venus goes home.  Hunter would’ve kept Tevin safe for this TC vote - but what about the next vote?  If past history is any indication,  a player surviving a landslide vote at one TC is frequently the evictee at the next TC because they’ve already been branded as an “easy out” - so Hunter’s play would have extended his ally’s life in the game for one TC cycle, after which both Hunter AND Tevin would be defenseless.  Also - does Hunter really trust Tevin that much?  Because such a play would easily be the splashiest move thus far in the season, and it would all be to Hunter’s credit - which would probably result in crosshairs on Hunter at the next TC where Hunter isn’t wearing the Immunity necklace.  I wouldn’t put it past Tevin at all to accept Hunter’s largesse one TC, then flip on Hunter at the next.
  2. Hunter keeps his idol secret and to himself, and Tevin goes home.  Hunter would be without his (presumed?) #1 ally in the game, to be sure - but depending upon how tight Hunter actually felt their bond was, would that necessarily be a bad thing?  One might argue that shucking Tevin might actually decrease the target on Hunter’s back; he’d be perceived as an alliance-less loner, and therefore a strategic nonentity.  Keeping the idol for himself also gives Hunter significantly increased longevity in the game; should Hunter fail to win out at the remaining challenges, the idol constitutes a mulligan.

Option 1 does have certain advantages, to be sure - but IMHO Option 2 gets Hunter deeper in the season, and closer to FTC as a player.
