A friend at work got Blue Apron. She lived alone and wanted to get away from either getting takeout all the time or living on cereal. She liked it a lot.

But her missing 'all the times' for weigh-in because she is 'focusing on getting things started' reminds me of the old Garfield cartoon.  'If you spend enough time planning, you never have to actually get anything done!'

I think she has hardly lost anything.  But I hope she will turn around yet...

Oops. She's already looking at surgery as a golden ticket. She doesn't really believe that she can lose a significant amount of weight on her own.

Her nephew is getting overweight, and that worries me.  

She doesn't need to have another lame lettuce and chicken salad.  Add tomato, cucumber, and other veggies.

Month 6-phone call with Dr. Now.  Oh no!  No contact with Shakyia.  I'm worried for her.

And she thinks surgery is the magic bullet that starts the real weight loss?  She is in for a rude awakening.  But I am afraid she will choose to remain in a food coma. I think her sister and her friend are pushing her, but she herself hasn't fully realized the need yet, nor her Mom... and she also thinks sad salads with sad grilled chicken breast is all she can have.  C'mon, girl, if you want to go back to college, that means you can read and you can think at least a little, apply that to food!!  There are so many more options.

Last week I debated between Oreos and chocolate milkshake and chose Oreos. Tonight I have my shake. I wanted to make homemade chocolate syrup but I haven't gotten around to it so I had to use Hershey's.

You know the just grilled chicken salad and this is only 15 calories is totally for the camera. They need to install nanny cams so we can watch what really happens

Let's think about this for a minute: do we actually want nanny cam footage? Hmm.  Quite the dilemma for us.

Month 7 telemedicine visit with Dr. Now.  She had respiratory failure, and was on a vent, and couldn't walk.   I'm devastated for her. 

Why is she in hospice?   Isn't that for terminal?   I can see sending her to a rehab, but why hospice?    I'm not liking her mother, abandoning her again.

My friend had wls and hinted to me that he was going to look like a Greek God afterwards. He kept eating too much and ripped up his incisions, they got infected. Went to visit him and we went out to a Chinese resto. He ordered so much food and then almost vomited up a pork bun because it was too big. Just saying, he told the doctors what they wanted to hear and never figured it out for himself. Very sad!

Poor Shakiya.  Was it during COVID?  An infection and is she bedbound now? 

And then she can't go home now?  Is there an explanation for why?  I think something weird is going on.

She started out saying her mother could not care for her, which I understand. Then she said that mom kicked her out. So I'm not sure what's going on. It doesn't look like she is mobile. She sounds like she has some cognitive impairments.
