First Look: 11/17/23

Full Episode: 11/19/23

Nikki/Igor: Dressing conservatively to meet the partner's parents isn't "denying who you are".  It's for an evening.  The bigger issue that neither of them recognize is that he's just not into her.  Not attracted, nada.  Nikki should have read the room and gone home.

Gino/Jasmine: I can't believe this blah guy with the hats has so many exes!  And while I was starting to get sympathetic towards Jasmine, I realized she left her own kids back in Panama (and didn't seem all that invested in them when she was in the same country).  I'd be shocked-shocked! if Jasmine hadn't slept with Dane, the exact same act that she accuses Gino of doing.  As for him, Gino is no victim.  They deserve one another.

Manuel/Ashley: I think the therapist wanted to blurt out, "How can you not see that this man sees you as a walking wallet?  Prepare to support his entire family while he doesn't give a flying rat about you".  She berates him as if he's a little boy, and he smirks through all of it.  She amuses him.  At least he's upfront about his motives next week.

Nick/Devin: So far, this is the best couple.  I hope they last, but he's going to meet the happening hub of Searcy next week, and Parents Devin, who look even less impressed than Nick's did.

Rob/Sophie: Oh get real, Sophie.  You can take your "likes" back to England right now.  Of course you're going to go back with Rob, who will play you like a fiddle.  I would have taken my losses and gone back to indoor plumbing, then found a guy who never had smutty pics on his phone, nor who had ever cheated on me. She's an exasperating airhead.

Clayton/Anali: Before I spent major bucks on a foreign spouse, the first thing I would do is get my mother out of the closet.  That's not normal.  I don't even think it's a real bed in there.  Anali looks like something smells bad (it probably does).  She's gotten all the way to Kentucky and  found a weird guy who she's not into but doesn't know how to break it to him, 

When Mr. Traveler and I visited any parental units, it was monk city until we got home (TMI?)  How much more for Anali, whose prospective mother in law is next to the wall?    And even without Mom-next week has to be the cringiest seduction scene since Cleo and Christian.  Is Clayton 15?  

On the other hand, Anali, I'm looking at a 26 year old woman who seems so afraid of Daddy that you have kept Clayton a secret for years?  I don't get all up in my grown kids' personal lives, but what would hurt the most is if one of them kept their SI or even spouse a secret, and lied to me.  There should be nothing they couldn't tell me.  I get that Peruvian culture is very different, but something doesn't  smell right with her and this excuse.  She never introduced them when Clayton was in Peru?

Rob/Sophie---I keep forgetting she is only 23. And I think back to the bullshit I tolerated at that age. Run, Sophie, run. He is a very immature 32 and his excuses are so laughable. Again though, she is only 23. 

Ashley and Mushmouth---Again, this is what happens when you try to turn a vacation fuckbuddy into a spouse. How much more clear can he make it that he really isnt' that into her and is there for the $$ benefit? I mean, he doesn't mind her, he can tolerate her, at least until he gets set up and finds his footing. Then he will not doubt jump to another who he either has actual feelings for/chemistry with, or can provide more $$. She is shocked he expects to send money home? Honey, how do you not know that this is expected of him?? If he doesn't or tries not to, the full wrath of all the primas and primos and tios and abuelitas will rain down upon him. You think his family is blowing up your phone now? Just wait. Binge watch past seasons of this show or The Family Chantel for a crash course lol. 

Anali & Clayton---I feel sorry for Clayton. He seems like a decent enough guy, based on his job and lifestyle you can tell he is very introverted and maybe has some social anxiety with women. He has other siblings (not only did we meet his sister, he mentioned brothers) and somehow his walk in closet is the best option for the mother (who is mentally ill----hoarding is a mental disorder). Or he was the only one willing to step up and take care of her; that plus his love of animals just make me think overall, a good hearted person. Anali probably enjoys chatting with him but no, there is no passion there and that is the real reason she hasn't mentioned him to her father or anyone. Peruvians can be more conservative, especially in the provinces. Chiclayo is a city, but not a huge one. If her family was THAT conservative, she wouldn't be allowed to travel by herself to the US, even if for work. And she would be checking in each day....Clayton's sister seems like she gets in bar fights on the regular and I would be terrified to run into her after more shots and in a dark alley, but I think she called it. This chick is using her brother. Maybe not for a green card, but just for shits and giggles. The preview for next week was cringe adn she is a bitch for the cow comment. My husband does some things sometimes to try and be romantic or sexy that I find cringe, but I would NEVER utter those words. It would destroy his self confidence and it is just plain shitty to do if you love someone. 

Jasmine and Gino----OK, when he walked in with the stuff for the dog, that was some horrible, not even B grade acting on both parts. He looked like he could barely contain laughter. I wouldn't be happy about a stripper either, but she fucked her ex and got $2000 (that she admits to) for ass implants from said ex, so she needs to cut the angel act. 

Igor and Nikki---she is a horrid hosebeast of a person. She looked decent in the dress to go see his parents. WTF was she wearing when she was getting ready? It looked like a girdle? Some horrendous shapewear? WHY? I mean, she isn't big? The dress wasn't form fitting. She shrieks and yells at him constantly. I think she is a sex addict and when she acts like this is all because she is trans, I want to slap her. Hard. Wake up. It isn't because you are trans. It is because you bitch and moan and belittle the man 24/7. Even if you "get" him, the second he has some breathing room and meets a woman who shockingly treats him like a human being and not just a blow up doll, he will bounce. She screams how she is too much for him too passionate. No, you are psycho. 

Nick/Devin---cute outing to officially propose and take some pics. For a sec, I thought they were having a professional photographer take the pics and her ratty, uncombed wannabe ponytail had me confused. Selfies with a selfie stick make much more sense. They seem like the only couple who have a genuine relationship and hopefully the trip to AR goes well.

I think Anali isn’t sure she and Clayton are the real deal, and didn’t want to hear her dad’s opinion about a guy she met online. Had he known she was headed to the USA for a guy he likely would’ve raised holy hell. She said her plan was to tell him that she met him while she was in the USA. 

I don’t agree with Anali but given how unstable Clayton’s living situation seems to be, she knows she can go home at any point and her Dad wouldn’t be the wiser. She’s keeping her options open. I know what it’s like to not want to hear your parent’s opinion (as much as you love and respect them) so just don’t tell them! (At least he knows where she is for safety)

Every one of us is a product of our past.

All the relationships we've had — romantic, friend, family — have shaped who we are today.

All of our life experiences and events have likewise influenced who we are now.

If Jasmine truly loves Gino, she should be grateful for the relationships and life experiences he's had, because they molded him into the man he is today, and with whom she fell in love.

Melting down because he's saved (either purposely or accidentally) keepsakes from old relationships or meaningful events — and demanding he throw them out — is uncalled for and Gino should have refused.  

Aside from the fact Jasmine borrowed money from her ex, Dane, to help pay for her butt implants, Jasmine has spent a lot more time talking to Dane and probably meeting with him in person than Gino has with his ex — or any other women.

So if anyone needs to scrub memories of their ex from their brain — or bedside drawer — it's Jasmine, not Gino.

Manuel is a total dick to Ashly.  He isn't even trying to pretend he's here for Ashley but for the money, green card and a way to get his family here.  She is a walking wallet, and it is only going to get more expensive.  I wanted to punch him in the face while at the restaurant.  How she didn't is beyond me. Where to start?  She is constantly screaming, which is her normal way of speaking, about being who she is blah blah blah. She says she wants to be accepted but I am not sure what she wants accepted?  She dresses like a stripper most of the time, and most everything out of her mouth is sex related.  All Igor is asking her to do is tone it down to a normal level.  I feel bad for him and not sure why he is with her.

And I am confused and maybe missed it but is the backstory of their relationship that when they first met, he did not know she was trans, so he had no issues and apparently the sex was good.  Then she told him she was trans, and he isn't comfortable being intimate now that he knows she, was a he?  I can understand that. 

He seems to love her but her constant complaining about the sex, her over the top clothes and her always at 10 is pushing him away.  Why can't she not be so big and over the top?  She is not at a club or a drag show.  Why does she always have to have the whole "this is me and I will not change and if you don't like it, I am out" and not try to understand HIS POV and his life.  His friends were very nice and accepting even when Nikki tried to shock them several times, I think, to get a negative reaction so she can complain no one accepts her or allows her to be HER.  Ugh.  She would be sooooooooooo exhausting to be around.
