Can I just get a show about Carter and Randi? They’re the only people on this show that don’t annoy me.

True, they don't bug like the rest.  The cats are always welcome as well.  I'm not interested in Kat's love life so the singer being interested in her while cute I hope doesn't lead to some major angst between her and Max even though she and Max don't do anything for me.  But Kat is a lot under normal circumstances so making her more extra is not the way this show needs to go.

Absolutely the cats can stay! I’ve got four running around my house as we speak lol

I guessed where this was going about as soon as Zoey said that Max "wasn't her type." Zoey and Kat at least have stuff in common, Max and Kat seem to have almost none of the same interests and seem to get into a fight just about every episode they have a plot together.

Some decent kitty sightings, and Randi/Carter made Sheila a lot more fun then when she's just being mean to Kat.

I actually liked this episode and it made me laugh more than most.  One of my favorite lines was when Max was in bed on the phone with Kat talking about her in the nude photo and he says, "Kitty, NO, that's NOT a scratching post!"

As soon as Zoey said Max wasn't her type I knew the show was going to make her gay.  I just hope she doesn't become an issue between Kat and Max.

I also liked the way they showed the residents of the senior residence Kat's mother lived in to contrast how alive and vibrant she is by comparison.  You have to hand it to Swoosie Kurtz for being so vibrant at her age.

Another episode without a trace of Jack McBrayer.  It really does look like they scrapped his character.  We wouldn't have minded if they had continued to tone him down.  Hopefully they'll continue to change Kat's mother into a positive person.

Since the episode summary has the singer's first and last name, I thought I was supposed to know who she is, which I don't.  If you Google her name there is a "porn star" with the same name and a pic but I can't tell if it's the same person.  Might not be safe for work if you click on any links, which I didn't do.

So is Kat going to discover that she's gay now?  That could lead to the breakup of her and Max which would put an end to the no-chemistry and always bickering living together situation.  Max might realize he's gay too!

If half the cast turns gay and/or bi, I'll take it as "it takes a village to replace the giant space that Leslie Jordan used to occupy on this show".

I doubt that's where they're going, but it would be hilarious (to me) if they did.

I'm not so sure about that.  It might just be where they're going.  They might at least make Kat bisexual.  If they did it would feel forced to me, yet another flip flop with this show.  It can't just pick a direction and stick with it.  And besides, people these days mostly know what their preferences are in that regard before they reach Kat's age.  These people weren't born in the stone ages.  Is it possible?  Sure, but it wouldn't feel realistic to me.

Why does someone of the opposite sex always end up being gay when they say they’re not interested? It IS possible to just not be into someone of the opposite sex….and then be friends/coworkers.

I agree, but on the other hand, why does someone always have to suddenly realize they're either gay or bisexual when a gay person kisses them?

The girl who played the singer in this episode is a failed American Idol contestant who now hosts a YouTube show where she interviews other people who have been on AI. I'm relatively sure she isn't a porn star.

As far as what they're going to do with Kat's sexuality, I hope they don't force an orientation crisis on us. This show already feels like it's on his last legs, and having a 40-year old woman suddenly realize that she's into women because of a single kiss is just jumping the shark IMO.

At least they seem to have gotten rid of the annoying Amish guy. He had made a struggling show borderline unwatchable.

I think I'm done with this show. Why can't the singer and Kat just be friends? Honestly, I wanted to enjoy the Sheila storyline with Carter and Randi but I couldn't because it still rested on Sheila being so cruel to Kat and Randi was too.

Can I also just throw out how annoying it is that shows/movies continue to portray members of the LGBTQI community as these constantly-horny, aggressive people. Zoey knew about Max and Kat's relationship, yet she still had to make a move on Kat. Do these people really think it's impossible for a homosexual/bisexual individual to just be friends with someone of the same sex? It seems like every time that that community is involved in a storyline, they have to make a move on a main character.

I will say that How I Met Your Father is one of the few examples of a show that gets it right. I'm not even a member of that community, but it has to be annoying/insulting to those who are to constantly see themselves being portrayed as people who just can't control themselves.

I like Carter and Randi since at least their relationship has chemistry and they're funny together. I wouldn't have been so nice to Sheila lying to me. Also, I wouldn't commit to hanging out once a week maybe once in awhile but not every week. She could find other more active older people. There was an episode where some of the residents liked Kat. They weren't slow movers or act as old as the people on this episode.

Kat and Max have no chemistry so I wouldn't be sad if they broke up. At least she has more in common with Zoey.

I'm the exact opposite, their voices bug the shit out of me!

There was a time a while back when Randi and her voice annoyed me but I got over it.  Some of if not most of her lines are actually funny and she and Carter (with that hairstyle!) are a believable couple.

I don't think this show is bold enough to have Kat break up with Max and get with Zoey. I just think the idea of the central ship of the show, including the ensemble leader and title character, changing lanes is hilarious, because it's so out of line with what I think this show (or any show) would actually do.

I don't think Kat will get with Zoey or decide she's gay/bisexual. However, it might question her relationship with Max so that they break up. I really don't think they're compatible at all. I don't even know how they were such good friends in college except for liking karaoke.

Weren't they both teachers after college? I forget what Max's original backstory was. But if they were both around kids all day, maybe they were desperate for adult company and too tired to seek out functional adults.
