A great episode: Avi, Lena, Terry in love, Bunchy on a date, and Ray with his "I smell bullsh!t" face when the motivational speaker was doing his schtick. If they never show Abby, or the spawn ever again, I'd be the happiest  Donovan fan. Not gonna happen, but I can dream.

Those kids really give Abby a run for her money. I don't know how we're suppose to feel about Ray's family, but I can't stand any of them.

Unlike evil siblings Meadow and Anthony and neurotic wife Carmela, Ray's family draws not one moment of interest. l can't wait for them to get off the screen. They are just taking time away from the rest of the story. The three of them need a total re-write.

I too, am afraid of where the story line with Bunchy is headed.  He has been through enough, why torture him further?  Seems like the writers are intent on using him as a punching bag (no pun intended). I will give this to the writers, though - juxtaposing the scene with Patty washing his hair that was so sweet with the later scene of Bunchy's Viagra-induced erection with Cliff's head in his lap was uncomfortable for everybody, the viewers included.

Lena really is Ray's Girl Friday, isn't she?  She does everything from seducing men in swimming pools/saunas, to delivering Mickey's hush money.  She literally does it all!!  And something tells me that neither she or Avi are getting paid what they deserve.

Despite my hatred for the Abby character, I felt a smidgen of happiness for her in that she finally got some much-needed attention, dubious as it was.  I also was glad that she didn't fall for the crumbs that Ray threw out for her.  I don't think Abby standing him up for dinner impacted Ray all that deeply, but maybe she felt a bit more empowered, and for that I cannot be mad at her.

Mickey and Shorty were comedy gold in this episode.  I loved the scene when they joked about getting married so Mickey could be the beneficiary of Mickey's life insurance (don't we all think some hair-brained scheme along these lines might come to fruition?) and the one where Mickey started to write the screen play.

As all over the place as this episode was, I think it's my favorite of the season so far.

Why don't they show Lena and Avi more away from the job?

Ray made a great course correction after Harriet told him he needs documented income.  So he's getting $100k a month, in checks written out to him, so that he can get that home (can't believe that is $5 million, seemed like a little bungalow/ranch style house).

But that motivational guy could have negotiated the settlement with Manuel himself, though probably doesn't know how to fly an illegal out and get him on the no-fly list so he can't come back.

Guess he was anticipating he'd need more of Ray's services in the future.  And he's got hundreds of millions at stake in a divorce?  So the Deepak Chopras and others of that ilk are making that kind of bank?

Ray and Abby are shitty parents. The blonde haired girl, Ashley I think....hate the character and the actress.  Please show, don't let Bunchy's girl think he got that woody because of her son. Let Bunchy and Terry have some happiness.

I really fear that they are going to go down the Bunch molests a kid road. He just popped a Viagra and then that kid put his head in his lap so now Bunchy is going to associate his woody with a little boy. Please don't, show.

I really don't think that's where the show is going with his storyline. It'd be highly disappointing because I think it's far more interesting storyline for Bunchy being a man whose growth was stunted getting involved in an adult relationship and growing from it as a result.

One the one hand, Terry thinks the gym, especially his share, is worth over $600k, even though they're training basically blue collar people.

But on the other hand, when Francis says she won't leave her son, Terry quickly points out that he's going to college and she'd only be seeing him once a year.

So naive on one matter but perceptive and shrewd in another.

Argument must have worked based on the previews.

As much as I can't stand the kids I did feel bad for Conor at the end when Brigit wished him a happy birthday, neither parent in sight.

To be fair, it was just after midnight, so the parents had all day to celebrate the birthday.  That said, the kids are basically on autopilot except for the obligatory order to Bridget to stay away from Marvin followed by Bridget saying screw you, I'm doing what I want.

This was one of the more entertaining, i.e., not completely grim, episodes, although the stories went all over the place.  More Avi and Lena, please!  And yes, let Terry and Bunchy find some happiness.

I felt bad for Connor because earlier in the episode he asked Abby what tomorrow was. Without even looking at him she just said it was Saturday because she had obviously forgotten his birthday was coming up.

I'm much older than Conor and my mom never forgot my birthday. My dad died the day before my birthday this year and my mom still got a cake for me. Under the circumstances, I would have understood if she had forgotten in the blur. Abby seems like the kind of mom who would have Conor's birthday written on the calendar in sharpie with big hearts drawn around it. I guess we are supposed to think she's so distracted by the cop that she can't even remember her own kid's birthday.

I think that $5M is actually kind of low for that house given the location.  LA real estate has recovered and is expensive.  The finishes on that house looked nice and like it had recently been updated and Trousdale is a very nice area.

I'd like to have less of the kids and Abby (especially the kids), and more of Avi and Lena, and that young blonde woman can go away forever.

If that was supposed to be a sexy strut as she walked away from Ray in her underwear, they are sadly mistaken. That was, to me, the opposite of sexy.

This show just gets kinkier and kinkier.  Yes, that "strut" at the end was unappealing.  Work those hips, girl!  Abby forgetting Connor's birthday just underscores how out of touch she and Ray are with their own family.  Avi and Lena are my favorite part of the show as well, they're terrific sidekicks.  And give me more Ezra and Mickey, they both crack me up.  Terry needs to drop his Irish Spring pipe dream and stay in LA.

I DVR the program and ff through them 95% of the time. It really does make the show better. They truly are the albatrosses around Ray Donovan's neck in more than one way.

I'm hoping that they use the boner/ kid in his lap thing with Bunchy as a catalyst for him starting to figure things out in that regard, rather than as a "Bunchy thinks he's a pedophile" thing.  I imagine he'll struggle with it, and honestly, I would think that any guy who had a medically-induced hard-on while a kid laid on his lap would have some concerns about it - it's a little awkward at best.  But I hope he realizes that he didn't have any sexual feelings toward the kid, and it helps him in some way to move forward with the relationship.  Poor guy - he's had a rough time.

I don't mind the kids too much, actually, but Abby works my very last nerve.  She seems more like a teenager than her kids.  Of course, every person on this show is completely messed up, so I guess her ridiculousness is par for the course.
