That guy with the horns on his feet was both disgusting and rewarding.  His son really loved him--you could see it.  That's despite his dad tricking him into licking his foot.  That was sort of hysterical and more in line of what an older sibling would do. 😁

I have to turn away a lot on this, whereas I'm mostly cool with Dr. Pimple Popper.
Maybe because so many of the nail removals and other things seem painful.
I'm glad the other woman was added to the show, because isn't she the one who's been helping Dr. Brad for past seasons.

Dr. Ebonie and Dr. Brad have their hands full treating a woman with fluid dripping out of her foot; a man born with seven toes on each foot; a barber who dropped a steel door on his big toe 20 years ago has a nail that is completely deformed.

Airs 8/18.

My hubby was grossed out by the removal of the growth on that man's feet. I, however, found it satisfying and wanted to help.  The second food dried out and thus bled. They should have left it wrapped with warm compresses while working on the other foot.  Hope the growths don't come back.

My daughter was like eww. Me I am oddly interested in that mans foot growths. To me the surgery was like an ASMR video where they shave soap.

Working up the courage to watch the permanent stilettos one.

The gross out factor wasn’t bad in my opinion. There was a surgery with a metal rod. The only thing that really bothers me enough to look away is toenail removal. It just seems so painful.

I was disappointed with the Olmsted syndrome story. I looked it up and there is no cure so I guess that’s all the doctor could do for that poor young woman. It seems crazy that she went out of state to get her calluses shaved down.

It just looks painful.   I was with my mother when she had hers removed a few years back, she didn't feel a think ,and she was incredibly happy with the results.  She suffered from fungal infections which would never clear up.  Once the toenail was gone, no more infections.  And no more pain!

My husband was a podiatrist for the first ten years of our marriage (1964-74).  He was so squeamish and prissy (I didn't realize it until after we were married), that I wonder how he even got through medical school--let alone had a sole practice for ten years.  SURELY he didn't see any of this "exaggerated" stuff without mentioning it to me ... to friends.  (He became a stockbroker--happier, but drinking more.)

Dr. Ebonie and Dr. Brad treat a woman who has a foot she says is cursed; a man who has an extraterrestrial on his toe; a woman who has a very cranky callus.

Airs 8/25.

Aired already in the Phoenix market.  Man doesn't have "an extraterrestrial on his toe"...they say he has "E.T. toes," just a bit long.  Not really wierd.

The episode with this title I saw (Phila. area) showed a guy with a strange round bump on top of his toe, not a long one.  It could be seen as an ET toe.  They cut it off, fortunately it wasn't cancer, just another form of lipoma.

Why would they put him under? General anesthesia seems pretty risky for a guy that age. An MRI would let them know if it was bone, nerve, etc. or if there was a large blood vessel running through it that would make removal with local anesthetic impossible. Did they explain that and I missed it? They were also weirdly dramatic as a couple, especially after the lump had been there for 30+ years.

I found this episode on YouTube.  "His Toes Look Like 'ET Fingers' | My Feet Are Killing Me"   It was a Russian man with long toes...his second toe was so long (according to him) that he had a difficult time finding shoes.  Dr. Brad took off the first joint ... cut away some bone ... replaced the joint.  VOILA!  Shorter toe with his own toenail.   (My mistake: Fingers...E.T. Toes)

Nope--I don't know either.  Maybe because there was a good chance it was cancerous and they might have to dig deeper or amputate the toe?  You raise a good point.

OMG that couple, especially the wife, were driving me crazy!!  I kept yelling at the TV "'it's NOT a tumor' it's just a cyst!!!"  If you were so worried about it, why didn't you go get it looked at, say 29 years ago!!  "I don't know what I would do without Walter, I just know he's going to dieeeee" or whatever his name was.  Puhleeze.

A man with tiny tumors all over his toes, a patient whose toenails cut holes in her shoes, and a woman with a big toe that is twisted almost entirely around make an interesting day for Dr. Ebonie, Dr. Sarah, and Dr. Brad.

Airs 9/15

With bonus scenes; when a man that urinates on his feet, a patient with twisted toes, and a woman who says she walks like a clodhopper visit the doctors, they are faced with shock.

I may have said this before, but the first ten years of our 20yr marriage, my husband* was a podiatrist.  As I got to know him well, I was surprised that he was SO squeamish and prissy.  I cannot IMAGINE that he saw ANY patients like these on television.  He would have mentioned it.  He left/sold his practice and (eventually) became a stockbroker...a stockbroker who left his family for his secretary.   *He's my ex-late husband.  Oh, "she" died first.

Me either. Did they say what was causing the tumors, or is it unknown?

I don't know if she said what it was but a quick google search pointed me to periungual fibromas (click link at your own risk)

It was really interesting to hear Dr. Ebony say that we don't need toenails because they aren't as important now that we all wear shoes.  The more you know!

Dr. Ebony has apparently never dropped anything on her nail-less big toe while wearing sandals.

Just sayin'.

A woman with horribly dislocated toes, a man who walks on his toenails, and a woman who needs fatter feet are all curious cases for Dr. Brad and Dr. Ebonie.

I watched this on the after midnight rerun, and there was a new show added at the end, on transplants.
A woman was getting a heart ttransplant, and a man, a kidney.
It was a preview of a new show, but maybe only on that Discovery +, but they only showed until surgery was set to begin.
I had the foot show set to tape, and this came with it.
Did anyone else see it?  I don't see it on the schedule, something like Last Chance Transplant.

I am surprised Dr. Ebonie did not suggest orthotics for the woman with bad calluses since she was reluctant to have surgery. Has Dr. Ebonie ever given a patient orthotics? I know Dr. Brad has a few times. I guess orthotics don’t makes for good television.

Yes, last season.  But orthotics won't necessarily get rid of callouses, it may just shift them to another place, which was my experience.

And...orthotics are a big part of "practice management," increasing one's income with little effort.

So happy this show is back! I don’t know how I feel about Dr. Brad moving to NYC. Did Dr. Sarah come with him? She did the surgery with him, but nothing was mentioned about her moving.

Usually only the toenail removals freak me out, but Dr. Ebonie putting that rod through the bottom of the woman’s foot was hard to watch. At least it worked. I don’t understand how she could have been walking around on a broken bone all those years. X-rays?

I was wondering too.  My theory is that she never went for her follow up with the surgeon, because that would never have been allowed to continue.  Perhaps she was afraid they would tell her it needed to be amputated, so avoided any exams?

I cannot imagine going through the procedures we are seeing.  Man…..

I was surprised to see Dr, Brad in NYC too!  So, he moved a medical office to the heart of NYC during covid!  Wow….I would imagine rent would be incredibly high.  I wonder how that works for a solo practitioner.  My law practice is in a trendy, high rent district in my state’s capital, but it’s manageable because the space is shared by multiple attorneys.   I guess he’s bringing in a lot.

Might be the "solo" podiatrist...but with a large para-medical staff.  Perhaps television popularity required a move with even MORE visibility.

One wishes that were always the case.

My story is too long to tell here, but my knee replacement surgeon didn't believe my post-surgery/post physical therapy complaints of unbearable pain.  She didn't take x-rays, but sent me to "a rehab facility," where they would not let me go home until I could walk.  I was in that place for eight days. If she checked on me, I never heard about it.  I vomited when they made me walk.  I fainted when they made me walk.  I begged for an x-ray every day.  Nurses and aides apologized, "The doctor says no."

One of my sons left a long voicemail message for the surgeon.  She sent medical transport for me the next day.  I had a BROKEN FEMUR ... which required immediate surgery, a plate, pins, and more physical therapy*.   I won't believe "that she never went for her follow-up with the surgeon."  I was made to walk on a broken femur.  My surgery was in our largest hospital.  The practice, the orthopedic wing of the hospital, the physical therapist, AND their pain specialist were all employees of the same corporation.  (I didn't use THEIR physical therapy division again.)

I now have my own pain specialist and spend $95/mo on my pain patches from that 2016 surgery.  I see him every month and pee in a cup.

I wondered if that enormous nail fixed her ankle in a 90-degree position--I don't see how she could flex her ankle with that thing holding her foot rigid.  If that's the case, she's still limited as to footwear--no high heels!  But still, to be rid of what must have been unbearable pain (although she bore it; I don't think I could've) I guess being "condemned" to flats would be worth it.

I don't remember what words Dr. Ebonie used...but I had the impression that her ankle will not be flexing at all.   She would have to walk kind of stiff-legged (ankled), but AT LEAST without pain.  Those "assaults" to her bones will take a long recuperation...she'll have pain for longer than she expects.
