Micki learns some shocking news.

Are soccer gangs a thing?  OK, maybe that's not what was happening, but it looked like  it to me.

Micki's mom not being her mom is a little too soap opera for me.  And this from a person who used to watch soaps religiously.

HOw do you not notice that your best friend's parents have disappeared?  Is she living by herself?  Did her parents leave her money for bills?

A car exploding when you hit the key thingie.  How original.  I wonder how many cars are blown up a year.  If my understanding from tv is accurate, I'm going with at least a million.

Can safely say that I didn't predict the whole "Micki's mother isn't actually her biological mother" thing, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a bit too cheesy and soapy for me.  I'm all for Lindsay Morgan getting some meaty material, but I just hope this doesn't mean she's going to be always fretting over it or being a downer all the time.  I've watched her suffer enough on The 100: let her be happy more, television!  At least she told Walker and has someone to confide it about it, but I hope she tells Trey soon.

Man, I had no idea that there was such a thing as off the grid, underground soccer games, and just how dangerous it can be thanks to roaming vans of creepy gangs, toting guns and basically wanting to rape teenagers (I mean they didn't say it out loud, but the implications were clearly there.)  I know we're suppose to be rooting for Walker to shape up with the whole following the rules a bit, but in this case, I would have been perfectly fine if he and Micki used some force here that would have fixed things permanently....

Trey certainly got the quickest promotion of all time, which I guess continues to be a nice way to get him involved more.  But at this rate, he'll be coaching pros and winning championships in no time!

Trevor briefly considered going through with his dad's plan to kill Walker, but changed his mind for now.  But poor Stella is so going to be crushed when she finds out the truth (because that obviously is going to happen.)

August would be the type of kid that inadvertently gets himself in a love triangle, by unwittingly charming Isabel by being a decent human being (admittedly a low bar, but hey!), and judging from that final look, causing that Grace girl he was crushing on to suddenly be looking at him that way as well.  Hope he gets out of this in one piece!

Sucks about the car, but it being rigged to explode at least means Liam and James are on the right track, so... yay?

Loved the line about Abeline and Bonham still off camping, but Walker saying they're probably checked into a hotel by now.  I can kind of see Bonham in particular getting tired of the outdoors after a couple of hours.

Already back on break until April 5th?

Walker may or may not know that Trevor is up to no good since Trevor slipped up and called him Duke when he was contemplating shooting Walker in the back, but decided to hand him the gun instead. I wonder what really happened between Walker and Trevor's mother?

Ugh. I know it's a CW show but the mom isn't really your mom storyline is terrible. Also, Trey should be fired for losing ALL THE KIDS.

And since when can a random guy who isn't even a student go along on a school trip? Too much ridiculousness for me to look past. I have given this show a number of episodes but the poor writing is too much for me.

And I don't think that girl's boyfriend had anything to do with anything.  Why was he going?  And one chaperone for 20(?) kids on an overnight trip?

And someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this, because it honestly didn't register with me while watching but in my memory:

Wasn't it dark when the kids were playing soccer and Trey was calling Walker, but it was light out where Walker answered the phone?  I could be, and probably am, misremembering.  but, either way, Walker and Micki were in a different town.  How did they find the kids before Trey?  Not that he could have done much about the ever popular soccer gang.

I had no idea that Texas was filled with roving bands of soccer gangs looking to fight with teens for being on their "turf" that also escalate quickly into attempted murder and rape. Normally I assume that Walker going after the kids after they sneak out would just be breaking up a teen party like what Liam did earlier, I cant imagine he thought he would end up in a shoot out. I bet they harass teens because none of the other gangs will get into gang wars with them, they're too lame to be bothered with.

This episode was high drama in general, I certainly didn't see the twist with Micki coming. I thought that her mom might be covering for someone, but certainly not her long lost drug addict sister who is also Micki's biological mother. Seriously, when will parents in fictionland stop lying to their kids about these kinds of things? It always comes out at the worst possible time and it always just causes more problems then it solves, Micki is just lucky that she figured it out on her own without her drug addict mom showing up high at the office or in the field. This seems like pretty needless drama, but I will see how it plays out. I do love watching Walker and Micki on the job together, they are a great team and their banter is always a highlight of any episode.

I am totally cool with Trey becoming the head coach, of course they want him in charge, he's the best. Of course even a trip to a soccer game turns into a life or death fight against a particularly lame gang, but it also led to some good moments with the kids. August getting together with Isabel has some potential, August is such a sweet kid of course he accidently becomes a chick magnet by just being nice. Trevor going on the trip seems like a pretty big contrivance, but it does seem like they are heading towards him not going through with whatever his dads plan is to get revenge on Walker. I am still not sure if he sought Stella out to get in with her to get to her dad or if this is just a big coincidence, but she is going to be devastated when she finds out either way. The talk Walker had with him about "not taking the shot" sure did have two different meanings. He didn't take a very different shot than the one Walker was talking about.

Good on Walker for not beating down the creep who threatened Stella but instead taking him down with legal terms. I loved how Walker went from happily chatting with Trey to pissed off dad when he started talking to the kids, and that both of the kids just gave him a huge hug. Let that be a lesson kids.

I am glad that Liam and James at least admitted that hiding their investigation from Walker is a bad idea, I think we learned from Micki's story that hiding things from your family is a bad idea that will always backfire. Their car blowing up is a good sign right? They're on the right track for whatever evil conspiracy this is?

Is it just me or was the insinuation that the men who showed up at the soccer rave were a gang of red necks or white supremacists? What were they called again? Something something Nation?

I'm sorry but there were at least a half-dozen of them - if not more - and they were all carrying guns. There's no way that Walker, Micki and Trey were going to scare them off like that in RL. Maybe if they had shown up with a couple of cop cars as backup.

Sorry, but this episode was the first one to bore me and feel like filler (I know there always has to be a handful of those, but...). I wanted action and instead got angst and damp squibs.  I felt there was too much focus on the kids and their “what was the point of that” secret soccer game, which seemed to end before it began in story terms. I really don’t rate Violet Brinson from what I’ve seen of her so far - everything is whine and (that word again) angst for Stella.  Having Belle develop a crush on Auggie just felt like a shoehorned way of keeping a pointless (IMHO) character involved in the story, and I was bored stupid by the “I’m not really your mother” trope with Micki.  What I did enjoy was seeing little bits of Jared peep out - in the truck with Micki when they were following Adriana - and the kids’ relieved hugging of their dad at the police station.  I also like that we can’t yet read what Trevor’s real motives are.  Just wish there had been more time devoted to the  Liam and the Captain’s trip to Mexico.

I'm enjoying this show more with each episode. I think, largely, because I genuinely care about the characters.

Who was Trevor pointing the gun at? I swear it seemed to be at Walker. Wouldn't Walker's training and instinct sense that?

Trey fails to supervise the kids and gets a promotion?

I hope Micki realizes that the mom who loved and raised her is her mom. And Augie has a far better new love interest.

Just out of curiosity, why would you keep watching a show you clearly don't like?

Because apparently only the head coach was supposed to watch the kids and got fired for it. And the assistent coach then gets promoted even though he was also involved in that trip and failed to watch the kids.

I guess no geometry teacher was able to drop most of his classes to take over. (dedicated to B team football Coach Turner)

Why do I feel like Trey is too good to be true? Or too overly involved? The perfect boyfriend to Micki and the coach of Walker's kids? I am now awaiting a secret meeting with a lawful official or, conversely, a criminal mastermind.

Yeah, no way in hell would a school send only 1 chaperone. Or allow a students boyfriend to tag along.

Old guys are into soccer so much they claimed a soccer field as their territory, lol.

So this young girl is living by herself cause her parents left her? I hope they left her money for food, rent and utilities.

I knew as soon as Micki said her mom doesn't drink she was covering for someone.

So Texas Rangers don't have to be clean shaven?

I can't speak for Texas, but the Arizona Rangers frequently wear beards and mustaches, though always well-groomed.

It's possible that extra-curricular activities and their field excursions operate differently. But...

The gang reminded me of the middle-aged men in Sons of Anarchy. Also, sometimes young jerks just grow into old jerks.

Because I WANT to like it so I was giving it a long leash to see if it settled in. I love the scenery and a lot of the actors/actresses.

Take it off the leash and see what happens.

I understand. I never would have watched the original. I watched this because of Jared. I was pleasantly surprised that he is not just Sam and I don't pine for Supernatural while watching. Rather he is a whole new character, surrounded by other characters, all of whom are interesting. But, I have always been character driven with stories and don't focus on what happens as much as how they impact events or respond to them and each other.
