Terrafamilia October 13, 2019 Share October 13, 2019 Just so ya know, it's possible to be a fan of both Billy Idol and Cyndi Lauper. Go 80's!!! 3 hours ago, refugee said: Convoluted, bizarre and hard to follow. Convoluted? I guess, if you look at it from one angle. One person's reveal is another's shocking swerve. Bizarre? check. Hard to follow? Are we watching the same show? 4 Link to comment
Guest October 13, 2019 Share October 13, 2019 I think that the season so far is just mediocre. Its not very campy. Its not very funny. Its not very scary. Its not very clever. There isn't really any character worthy of getting invested in. To me, the only way it seems convoluted or confusing is if there are expectations based on prior seasons being applied. Its like watching one too many M. Night Shyamalan movies looking for the twist and when the twist gets revealed you are disappointed because its stupid compared to what you came up with (or suddenly Mark Wahlberg is talking to a house plant). sashayshante October 14, 2019 Share October 14, 2019 If the AHS Instagram Account I follow is right, Sarah Paulson isn't going to appear this season but Lily Rabe is. She's going to be in the episode titled The Woman in White. Didn't they refer to Stevie Nicks as The White Witch? God, please don't let them insert Nicks into another episode. The only character I'm invested in is Xavier, partly because I like Cody Fern and partly because X. is the only one with an interesting back story. Oh, and because Fern is the only member of the cast can act. Though I have to say the way he cries in every "dramatic" scene is getting a bit much. 1 Link to comment

SG11 October 15, 2019 Share October 15, 2019 I’m going to agree, the supernatural aspect is kinda killing it for me. I love horror, even irreverent, campy horror. I can suspend my knowledge and forget that everything about Ramirez is now made up. But I don’t do ghosts... they’re stupid. The show has travelled from campy, to hard to follow to stupid. I have to say that even though none of the real characters or references are correct, having the serial killer with the most famously rotten teeth... Ramirez... to the point that this was how he was IDed at times... seems weird with this actor and his $20k shiny veneers. 1 Link to comment
CrazyDog October 15, 2019 Share October 15, 2019 This show is a hot mess, but I'm still totally enjoying it. I think I just have low expectations for coherence and logic with AHS. I don't remember prior seasons as well as other folks do, but I know Murphy drops plot points...not infrequently. Personally, the gore and shock value is my least favorite part of all of the seasons. I'm just here for the humor, the performances, and the crazy. That being said, I'm assuming (probably incorrectly) that there will be an explanation of the craziness in the next couple of episodes. The audience does need to be clued into the main twist at some point. Midnight Manaerobics! lol Poor (to a point) Mr. Jingles...but was he actually resurrected, or did he just not die (tv-style) from Margaret shooting him? He still seemed pretty hurt, while serial killer guy seemed completely healed. I'm also hoping Byrdie isn't dead (I know she was hurt BAD, but it still seemed odd that she'd ask Xavier to kill her...no desire to wait for an ambulance, I guess.) Not Trevor! He, Chet and Xavier are/were the generally nice guys (Xavier's coverup of hitting Jonas aside). Cody Fern really does shine this season. Good thing his hair was completely unaffected by the burning oven. Margaret can die yesterday. 1 Link to comment

jewel21 October 15, 2019 Share October 15, 2019 I know this season doesn't make much sense, but I don't care, I love it and I'm here for the crazy! Bring on the resurrections! 3 Link to comment

Did Michael Myers or Freddie Krueger stay dead? OF COURSE NOT! I have a feeling we're never going to learn more about the dead hitchhiker guy. There are always SO many dangling plots in this show that you could do spinoffs just to answer them. Remember Asylum's aliens? I think my expectations have been gradually decreasing every year so that I can now just find this stupid fun. And yet their victims did! Freddy is a dream demon and Michael in the class with Jason and 'em. But all of the freaking victims in horror movies stay dead. And not even every killer in a slasher makes it out alive. Also Richard isn't "The Night Stalker" in this logic free reality, so people need to stop calling him that. 😆 It's ok to like trash but just admit it's trash. The genre isn't full of only trash, so I don't think that should be used as an excuse. It wouldn't be such a loved genre if no greatness existed within the genre. Link to comment
SG11 October 17, 2019 Share October 17, 2019 Yeah, it’s so goofy I need to suspend logic and enjoy the ride, I know. I think Cody Fern is a stunning actor. He simply takes the screen over in every scene. I believe his aura would lose some of its bite if he were to be overexposed like Sarah Paulsen, who I liked but flat got tired of looking at everywhere. Fern was so good in the Andrew Cunnan Documentary, wow. 1 Link to comment

spiderpig November 10, 2019 Share November 10, 2019 I'm catching up on my DVR backlog and am in the middle of Ep 4. Please tell me this season gets better. So far it's been nothing but death porn (not that there's anything wrong with that), boring characters and horrible acting (one thing you've always had to give this show was that it was chock full of interesting freaks), and a pointless script, if there ever was one. I had high hopes seeing Mitch Pileggi in the opening credits. How long was he onscreen? 35 seconds? C'mon guys - cheer me up. So far this season is worse than Cult - and that's saying a lot. Black Knight March 23, 2020 Share March 23, 2020 Another fun episode! It feels like we're reaching the end though, and then the story will shift to the survivors going back to LA or something like that. I'm impressed at how they got 5 episodes (counting next week) out of sleepaway camp...I thought they would be done with it after two, but the plot twists worked for extending it. I don't understand the complaints about victims not staying dead. A bunch of people have died and are still dead - Ray, Trevor, Dr. Karen, Blake, Chef Bertie, the three fake Mr. Jingles, the real Rita, the gas station guy, the asylum guard...eleven in four episodes is a high body count. I liked Richard Ramirez's resurrection due to the spooky filming of it. Creeped me out. The two murder teams fighting with each other while Brooke swung around was hilarious. Finally I was right about someone being evil - I was sure Margaret had been the one to slaughter everyone back then. However, I still don't feel much sympathy for Mr. Jingles, because we've seen him kill so many people since - his killing the chef grated on me especially because all she did was try to protect someone else - and with real cruelty in some cases. Sticking Xavier in an oven to broil? His "you made me a monster" complaint doesn't work for me because we saw in his sparing of the third fake Mr. Jingles that he isn't compelled to kill. He also has not tried to kill Donna, and he initially wasn't going to kill the chef either. Margaret is horrible, but take some responsibility for yourself, dude. You are clearly making choices. 2 Link to comment

If this was not produced by Ryan Murphy this season as a series would never find a network. This is like a film student's attempt to create a horror movie and the professor would return the celluloid and say do it over because it has been done before. It is so amateurish. I can't see how some members here find any of this "fun." Sometimes I wonder why I watch this show, but this season is a fairly typical example of it. This show being so over the top with so many silly twists is what makes it enjoyable. And I look forward to watching the goofy intro every week. I've never been a big fan of slasher movies, but this season hasn't been too painful. Link to comment
