  1. I really enjoyed it too. The PI was a character but definitely a hero! I hope he got the credit he deserved, especially from law enforcement. It is hard to believe that there was no evidence found at the campsite or in the car. One would think that he had to have driven the car at least some of the way to where he buried Kelli's body. I know she was a passenger when he gave her a ride, but did the police check the backseat or trunk for evidence of Kelli? Doubtful that he would have transported her body in the front passenger seat if she was dead. It seems to me like they dropped the ball, but maybe they did do all they could. I am constantly amazed at how really smart people commit murders and make dumb mistakes, and not so bright people commit murders and get away with it. If I had a loved one I was trying to locate, I would hire that PI.
  2. It was obvious when Lily said that the models were going to be topless, that they would be males. I am wondering though what will happen when Lily has a casting call for models at the same time as Devon is interviewing new talent for his label. They are really going to have to coordinate their schedules since HWG seems unable to acquire any more space than the one office they currently have. And apparently they cannot afford an actual photographer, so Charlie is it. And Maddie is Lily's assistant. It is a good thing Neil is on an extended trip as they is no longer any room for him at HWG, at least in the physical sense.
  3. I remember this case from when it happened. I never thought then that the parents had anything to do with it, and I still don't. What does disgust me is that law enforcement can make up evidence (ie. the wiretap tapes that were completely bogus) and suffer no repercussions for almost ruining these peoples lives, when they are already going through unimaginable heartache. And it isn't like this is the first time we have seen this with law enforcement. It is mind boggling to me, and I don't understand why there are no consequences to out and out lying by people who are supposed to serve and protect, not lie and defame. I think it was said that the police department was sued but that the lawyers were the ones that were paid? Heads should have rolled IMO.
  4. I wouldn't like them in any house, but they wouldn't stand out to me so much if they were in an ostentatious home, like Heather Dubrow's 20,000 sq ft mega mansion. Even at 10,000 sq feet Kyle's house is large, but has a cozy feel like her old home. I am surprised that they put them in their old home, where they do not fit at all IMO.
  5. I am still wondering who in the world would be interested in a book by Erika (or rather her ghost writer). Even when I liked her (and I no longer do) I had no interest in her "life story". I prefer to read bios of people who are more accomplished, or at least deep. And how interesting that the name on the cover is Erika Jayne - how is that not pretending when you don't even use your real name on an autobiography - lol. I did laugh when I read a quote of Erika saying she invented Erika Jayne as she was bored, and basically just another rich bitch with a plane. No Erika, Tom is a rich lawyer with a plane. You are his wife. I love Kyle's new house, but hate the black and white floors. It was so much more beautiful and elegant when it had the hardwood floors. If I were Kyle I would be ripping the tiles out, but that is not likely to happen since they put the same ugly floors (only shiny apparently) in the house they just sold. Other than ugly foyer floors, I think both houses are gorgeous.
  6. Thanks - I knew he had a few ex wives but can't say I had ever heard of any of them.
  7. I really thought that the whole point of Abby's conversation with Victor at the GCAC was for Victor to see Nikki and Arturo come down the stairs from her suite within minutes of each other. I was surprised that didn't happen. Speaking of GCAC, I am totally confused by the Hamilton Winters Group and their apparent lack of space. So this newly formed company started by a billionaire has one office to its name? And it is in the building that Devon already owns? I almost spit out my water when Devon told Lily that he was going to blow out a wall to make room for her desk. Lol. So now we have Devon, Tessa, Hilary, Mariah and now Lily sharing one office? HWG is looking like when a bunch of start up companies rent space together to save money. I know the idea is to have Lily and Hilary in the same space to create drama, but even for Y&R writers the premise is ridiculous. Oh, and I forgot about Charlie who will be there interning in the summer. At this point Devon needs to invest in some small wooden school desks for himself and his staff to use as he is quickly running out of room for any other kind of desks in that small space.
  8. Are you referring to Christie Brinkley? She and John Mellencamp were never married, they dated for about a year. I think he is back with his previous girlfriend before Brinkley, Meg Ryan. A pretty successful actress in her own right. When Erika first came on the show I didn't mind her - she was reserved but just seemed to be taking her time to open up. Last year she seemed happier, which I put down to her son living with her. This year she is an out and out bitch. I also think she dislikes Teddi because Teddi has what she always wanted - a loving and supportive father. Plus an age appropriate husband who appears to be a true partner as a hubby and father to their kids. I also think Erika is insecure because Teddi's father has been an hugely successful singer for decades, and shines a spotlight on just what a joke Erika Jane is. Have we even seen her perform this year? I almost choked when Erika said that everyone should be more independent. Erika is the least independent HW on this show, as she is totally dependent on Tom for her lifestyle, and for her vanity project, Erika Jane. I have given Erika passes in previous years, but not this year. She is an insecure bully, and I have little time for her. Speaking of no time, Dorito continues to take no responsibility for her actions. I think this has happened on pretty much every episode this season. I totally understand why Teddi did what she did both with Rinna and Dorito. However she should know by now that there is no such thing as a private conversation with Dorito, as making anything and everything public is Dorito's attempt to stay on the show.
  9. Last week I posted that I was so disappointed that a whole episode was devoted to Deja when there is still so much unknown about many of the characters, including Toby's family. Now I find out that his father and mother are Dan Lauria and Wendy Malick? Now am really ticked off - I would love to see a whole episode of Toby and his parents. I did love that though they were concerned that Toby bends over backwards for Kate (and they are not wrong though were of course wrong to bring it up when they did) that it is Kate who is there for Toby when he appears to be suffering from depression. And as others have pointed out, his history of it may not have had to do the break up of his first marriage as his parents assumed, but may be a chemical depression. I loved the "Worst Case Scenario" game. I play it all the time, but only in my own head, not with my husband. My favourite lines were "Deja kills us in our sleep" countered by "Deja kills us not in our sleep". I certainly hope the scene jumping ahead doesn't have anything to do with Deja killing anyone. And as some others have said, I would be perfectly happy if Deja is not on the show next year, though that seems unlikely. I loved Kate saying that Rebecca wasn't in her way, she was her way. And also loved Kate dancing with Miguel, and the look on Rebecca's face watching them. All in all, a very well done episode.
  10. I would imagine that Mr. Gothish will be happy he is a Mr. if he is not already. The best line of the whole two hours to me was when Vicki (the owner of the B&B) told Kody that with 18 children, his cohabitating days should be over. So does anyone know who is actually on the deed of the house? Did just Meri and her mom buy it? I loved Meri's TH where she said that she didn't know the Kody who was in Utah looking at the house, but did know the one sitting beside her on the couch in LV. Lol. Poor Madison - why did not one person in that entire family had the common sense to tell the lookie loos that giving birth is not a spectator sport? She looked about ready to pass out when she finally said "No cameras". I really really hope that we are not going to be subjected to viewing every Brown grandchild that may make its way into the world while Kody and company are still collecting a TLC paycheck. Can you imagine Mykelti and Tony? Will they have a pinata in the shape of a baby to help get through labour? Burritos resembling swaddled babies? Who knows what tacky things they might come up with? Luckily there (surprisingly) appears to be no word that they are expecting after over a year of marriage so far.......
  11. I know people who absolutely wanted to be parents who became parents and now regret it. This includes my brother in law and sister in law, who are now in their early 60s and are wonderful parents (and now grandparents) but if they had to do it over, would not become parents. I also know people who didn't want to be parents who did become parents who are amazing parents. (Some got pregnant unintentionally, and decided to go ahead and are great parents. Others where one of the couple wanted kids, the other didn't, and they went ahead and had them). It is not as black and white as if you don't want kids, that means you would be a bad parent and if you do want kids, you will be a good parent. There are plenty of examples that the opposite is true. Some want to become parents but have no clue as to the responsibility of it (they just want someone to love them) and find out too late that it is a lifetime commitment. If I had become a parent I would have been a good one, as I would have made that commitment. I had awesome parents, so the fact that I never wanted kids was something I knew when I was a kid myself, and had nothing to do with my upbringing. I love my many nieces and nephews, and have two step children as well. I have been in my step childrens' lives since they were 7 and 8 (are now 29 and 30) and have been more of a mother to them than their own mother has. But I have never for a minute regretted not being a biological mother. In any case my comment was to do with Hillary's sudden and seemingly overwhelming case of her biological clock taking over her life. I know this is a soap, but even for a soap it seems OTT.
  12. I knew it was the wife as soon as her best friend described coming to the house as soon as she was texted by Monica, to find her and her 2 daughters lined up on chairs in a row in the dining room and Monica saying over and over "I'm not a wife anymore". Because that is the first thing one thinks when their husband is being tended to by paramedics - the police hadn't even arrived as yet according to the friend. If my husband were just murdered that last thing I would think is that I was not his wife ( or even more so, as she put it, a wife) any longer. I would consider myself his wife for a long time after, and most likely forever if I never remarried. That was a big red flag to me - Monica had stopped thinking of herself as his wife before he was killed. Add in the over the top eulogy where Monica claimed that she was living a fairly tale that the rest of us mere mortals could only dream about, and I was rolling my eyes. People who brag about living in a fairy tale usually aren't. Poor Fabio certainly wasn't. I even gave a side eye to the friend and sister, only because both bugged. The friend trying to describe the manly man that was Rob was laughable. And sis? While I do believe she was devastated at the murder of her brother, sis could not squeeze out one tear, despite all the sobbing noises. Not even a kleenex in sight to dab at her dry eyes. It is like she either didn't want to ruin her make up, or was hoping to play herself in an upcoming TV movie. Because this is LA, and you know there should be one. Even Monica said so in her eulogy. My last thought seeing Monica in jail with her long, dry, frizzy, unkempt hair was that poor Fabio would be mortified to see that mop on his wife's head.
  13. Dreck is right. At this point I have whiplash from constantly being jerked around by these two. Hillary wants out of GC Buzz and sells. Hillary comes back to GC Buzz. Hillary quits GC Buzz. Devon tells her she can't just buzz off whenever she wants. Hill cuts a show and Devon tells her to buzz off. Devon finds out why she cut out, and tells her to buzz back. Hill wants to buy Devon's swimmers at the going rate. Devon says it isn't going to happen. Devon decides it is going to happen but no personal relationship. At this rate they will be remarried and re-divorced by the time the spawn is born. I am confused by Hillary's suddenly baby lust. Now I have never had kids, never wanted them. I used to tell people (because no one ever believes a woman who does not want kids, except another woman who does not want kids) that my biological clock was on permanent snooze. Now my friends/ family who have kids pretty much always knew and just planned (if they were lucky) on the best time to have them. I am confused by Hill's bio clock which seems to have been on snooze for as long as we have known her, and now all of a sudden has set off an alarm that she seems unable to shut off, or even put on snooze for a short time. Baby fever seems all consuming, and if it is not irritating to her and those around her, it is certainly irritating to me.
  14. Best exchange of the episode was when Victor told Ashley that Jack had used her to get to him, and Ashley replied that Jack had used him to get to her. Lol. Also loved it when Abby told Ashley that if she didn't want her to interfere, she should not have given birth to her. And my 3rd favourite part was Billy calling Victor "Lurch". I love that nickname for Victor. The rest? As usual, I don't care about Hillary or the kid she is mentoring. And Lily being handed her own modelling agency by her brother? Insert eye roll here.
  15. Because I was so surprised that Rebecca's death was considered a suicide, I decided to read Ann Rule's book that contains the case. The section is barely 100 pages long, but did contain some interesting info. I don't remember any of the following reported in the 20/20 episode but maybe I just don't remember. In any case: - the autopsy showed that many bones in the front of Rebecca's neck were broken, but not in the back of her neck. This is more consistent with manual strangulation than hanging. - the rope around her neck was above where several bones were broken, and those broken bones were consistent with manual strangulation. - Becky's long hair was beneath the rope. If you were going to kill yourself via hanging, wouldn't you want the rope to be against your skin, not your long thick hair? - there were many scratches, small cuts, punctures and bruises on her back, extending from her neck to the middle of her buttocks. They were attributed to the bramble bushes beneath the balcony where Rebecca was hanging. However there were no such scratches, etc on her arms, which were tied behind her back. They would have been in contact with the bushes first, if that was the cause of the marks. But her arms were not cut/scratched/bruised. - the purplish lividity pattern was along her back and the back of her legs. If she had hung for hours before being discovered the deepest purple marks would have been in her feet and lower legs due to gravity. - her feet were caked with mud. No other mention was made of this but I found that very strange. If her feet were caked with mud when she hung herself from the balcony, why was there no mud found there and in the room? The mud would not have come after she was cut down as she was laid on grass, and if anything maybe the bottom of her heels might have mud if it wasn't a grassy area. But from the pics it was, and the lawn was described as lush. - Adam says he used a patio table to stand on to cut her down. The picture of it shows a table with a broken leg, and says it had a broken leg. But it is never clarified as to whether it had a broken leg when he used it, or the leg broke off when he was standing on the table. I was surprised as Rule is usually more thorough in her writing than that. However if the leg was already broken, how could he stand on a three legged table? From the looks of the table (which was small) it would fall over. But in the evidence picture the table is upright and has the evidence number on it. If the table broke while Adam was on it, it would be toppled over. Did he take the time to stand it back up while he had just cut down his brother's girlfriend and tried to revive her? The police would have taken the pic as it was seen by them. The broken leg appears to be placed neatly on the top back of the table, as if it had broken off previously and was waiting for repairs. - When the paramedics reached Rebecca not long after Adam's call, she was already showing signs of rigor. Why would Adam not have noticed this, and that she was cold, when he cut her down? He told 911 that he did not know if she was dead, and then asked Rebecca if she was alive. (groan). - When Adam was interviewed at 8am, barely an hour after he called 911, he blurted out to the police chief "This is fucking crazy. I don't think my bedside manner is that bad-". No one knows what that meant, or apparently bothered to ask him. - Adam took 4 lie detector tests delivered by the same operator who said all 4 tests were inconclusive. - Jonah's ex Dina was at the hospital with him, but she had a twin sister. Was that mentioned on the show? They had different hair colours though, and the witness who saw a woman at the door of the mansion insisted it was the darker haired Dina that he saw. Is it possible that it was the twin who was wearing a disguise, knowing that if she was seen that her twin had an airtight alibi? Dina blamed Rebecca for Max's death. - as reported on the show, police dismissed the neighbour who heard a woman scream twice and then call out "help" twice. But after Rebecca's famiy hired a PI to look into the case another neighbour said he heard the same screams/shouts. I really don't understand how this remained a suicide, apparently with Jonah's blessing. I can only guess that it may be because either his brother or ex sister in law was involved, and he was/is more concerned with protecting them that finding the killer of his girlfriend.
  16. It seems like everyone here pretty much had the same opinion of Noriella as I did. I did not like her, or believe her for the most part. And yes, she may have been abused by Daniel but she had no ties to him via marriage or children so no reason to keep going back to him. I know there are abused women who say they have no choice, but I don't think that is the case with Noriella. I think she was just as manipulative as her boyfriend, and she was playing the helpless female card to the hilt. I didn't really understand in the trial why it could not be revealed that she was abused by Daniel, but the abuse by her step grandfather could be revealed? At least that is what I remember as I watched the show several days ago. The abuse by Daniel seems much more relevant when she is claiming that she was afraid of him.
  17. Does NBC really read and approve every script of every show they air? Really? I would have thought that once a show is picked up, and especially if it is the hit that This Is Us is, that the show's producers would have the freedom to do whatever they want. But what do I know. I think Fogelman should remember that the show is a hit because of his "superstar cast" , and the fact that the show's audience is vested in them. To tell this "important story" near the end of the season seems like a vanity project to me, and I don't feel bad in the least that I feel that way.
  18. I lasted about 10 minutes, and lost interest. There are stories not yet told about the core family, so giving a whole episode to Deja just didn't interest me. I would like to know about Toby's family. I would like to know more about Manuel, who was not only Jack's best friend but is Rebecca's husband. As it was, during the short time I did watch with all the birth scenes my head was swimming trying to keep up with who was giving birth to which kid. This show may be better that 90% of what is on TV, but not good enough for me to give up an hour to a character I am not vested in. As it is, I enjoyed the time I saved by not watching, reading which is ahead of TV anyway in how I prefer to spend my time.
  19. I don't think Dorito as a relative newby is on the level of Vicki. I see Dorito more like Peggy, who was discussed pretty much every episode of the OC last season. And Lydia to a lesser extent. Neither are coming back this year. Lydia is claiming it was her decision, but I don't think anyone is buying it.
  20. The earring edit was actually even stranger than that. LVP got the cartier earrings, put them on, and Dorito put on Lisa's large earrings. Then Lisa has on her old earrings and Dorito has her own on again. When Dorito decides she has had enough and walks out of the party, Lisa is still wearing the large earrings when she gets up to follow her. But when they are both outside the door away from the party, Lisa once again has on the cartier earrings. Seems like some reshooting has been done, without attention to detail regarding the earrings. Which makes one wonder how much is real, and how much is acting out a storyline. I really really hope it was real though, as I loved Dorito finally getting some crap thrown back at her. Loved LVP calling Teddi "Teddi Bear", and loved Teddi Bear's gift to LVP. Very thoughtful.
  21. I thought that was very sweet too, and was annoyed at JLaw for motioning for Frances to go to the mic when she was acknowledging those in the wings. Honey, when you have had the career that Frances has had, and earned the respect in the industry that she has, then maybe you can direct her to the mic. Until then, show some respect for someone who can act circles around you.
  22. Now for the record, I don't watch Etalk and only tuned in to Monday's show because it was about the Oscars. I had seen Ben's interview somewhere though (minus the FO remark) and didn't think it was that bad - he was asking Donald about his new project which I would think he would appreciate, as opposed to the obvious questions. Mulroney did his homework and knew about his project. I am so tired of the stupid "Who are you wearing?" questions (even to men) so appreciate actually learning something new about the interviewee. Thank goodness the "who are you wearing?" question seems to be on its way out in general. I agree that Christopher Plummer was very sweet, even kidding that he wore his pin the way he did so Ben could straighten it for him. He is exactly how I expected Sutherland to be, but wasn't.
  23. The Oscar dress was a step up from the shapeless dark blue sack she wore at the Golden Globes, and the powder blue poly looking number with bell sleeves that she wore to the SAG awards. I absolutely love that she does not give a flying frig about what she wears, and that she has aged naturally. She was actually a pretty striking woman back in the day, and I think she still is, in a non traditional kind of way. The fact that she is 2 months older than me and looks 10 years older makes me love her even more.
  24. Lol. That would have been more Canadian than what he did say, which was definitely "off". But saying it to a camera on live TV....well that just wasn't Canadian at all. : )
  25. I keep begging for TPTB to take Hilary off my screen, but no one is listening. So she finally tells Devon that she wants him to be her baby daddy. The guy who wants nothing to do with her outside of work. And she is even willing to pay the gazillionaire the going rate for his swimmers. Hard to believe that that didn't seal the deal. On what planet does she think a guy who was adopted by a family because he had no father and his mother was useless would agree let Hilary raise one of his spawn and just walk away. Hilary, the narcissistic con. Who writes this crap? So can we expect Hilary somewhere down the line to extract sperm from Devon without his knowledge (because this is a soap) and become preggers with his kid anyway? In any case this story line is dragging on way too long, and I care not at all if Hills gets pregnant.
