Oh for sure, but my post was in regards to the fact that he was being continually let in to the dorm by people who lived there, even after it was known by the school and police that he was dangerous. Both the school, and campus and city police are very lucky that he did not kill other people as well as Lauren. It was horrific enough that they all let her down.
-
From what I remember, the video they showed was of him already in the dorm, looking out the door waiting for Lauren to arrive. Then it shows him leaving. They said during the episode that he didn't have a pass key to get into the dorm, but because he was there so often the other students got to know him and would let him in when they went in. What shocked me was that they said that he was practically living with Lauren in her dorm. WTF?? How was THAT allowed to happen? No one who was not paying to live there (ie someone who does not have a pass key) should have been living there! I said to my husband that not only did that put Lauren at risk (unbeknownst to her in the beginning) but it also put all other students at risk as well! I think that may have been part of the reason that her friend who was involved with the dorms (can't remember her exact title in that regard) felt somewhat responsible, or that she could have done more. Obviously the university was lax in that regard, but since it was known that he would come and go at will, all those in the dorm should have been told not to let him in. He could of course still force his way in, but had that rule been in place he may not have been able to come and go at will, long after it was known he was a danger. This isn't victim blaming in the least (and likely would not have changed the outcome) but I was surprised that Lauren did not change her cell number so the ex could not keep texting her with threats, extortion. impersonations, etc. etc. It is the first thing I would have done. Sad case all around though, and I also hope that her parents sue. It has only been 8 months since Lauren died, so maybe they do plan to or it may even be in the works with their lawyer(s).

I don't get WWHL so can't watch even if I wanted to (and for the record, I don't). However it does bring to mind that old saying, "How can I miss you if you won't go away?". Lol. LVP does seem desperate to be seen. I saw a pic of her in US magazine, getting a manicure. I was surprised that she doesn't have someone come to her house for that, but then I guess she couldn't keep herself out there in the public eye if she did that. I am always amazed at how old LVP looks. She is three years younger than I am, and looks a decade older.

You could be right about why Christy kept her affair a secret from her friends. though I thought the friends they interviewed were ones from her own university years before she started teaching, rather than fellow teachers. I could be mis remembering though. While it certainly makes sense that she would want to keep an affair with a much older married man a secret, I can't say that I find your description of teachers in general to be my experience. I am not a teacher, but have a dozen relatives/in laws/long time friends who are. They are all pretty open with their lives, and most teach and work in the same city/town, if not even in the same area of that city/town. Most are even on Facebook under their own names, and share their lives freely. I only have one friend who never joined Facebook as she did not want her personal life on it. I told her to use an alias, as has my nephew in law who uses a combo of his nickname and last name. But in general, they do not alter their lives or who they are because they are teachers. But then again, (as far as I know - lol) none are in long time affairs with married people.

Hi Calgarian, Kelownian here! I have my fav shows set up to record, so don't look for them from week to week. I did look ahead on Slice to Tuesday, and it does show the episode where they go to France. (And you will be happy to know that Brandi's name is not included as one of the howives who goes to France!). It may be that your carrier has a search feature that is not too user friendly? I use Telus, and for the most part if I use the search feature the show I am looking for comes up easily. (I also just searched RH shows that way just to double check). I did do a search for City on a Hill. It is coming up on Crave on Demand, with one episode available so far. It isn't coming up on any other network for me, through Telus. Good luck! -

I really think all the talk about LVP when she has not been there has been producer driven. Which is another reason that I won't miss her being on the show, and really hope her name is dropped next year (ala Carole on RHoNY after she left/was asked to leave). It is quite obvious in some scenes, like when Kyle claims someone she knew saw LVP getting a lie detector test. Kyle isn't a good enough actor to pull that lie off - it was preposterous. And also a set up, IMO. I hope the producers are smart enough to move on, for the sake of both LVP and non LVP fans.- 164 replies

I am confused by your post. What network brings the RH franchises where you live? I am in Canada and I get mine through Slice. (I just assumed it was the same throughout Canada). The shows on Slice are always sequential, with one exception this year (and I think it was RHoBH but not sure) where one week was missed and two episodes were shown the next week. Not sure why that happened as there was no explanation, and it had never happened before and hasn't since. Why do you think the episode you referenced above was out of sequence? It was the one shown last week. Camille's house burnt in mid November, just under a month after her wedding. Or do you mean you missed some epis before that? -

ITA. I have loved every episode that LVP has not been in. I have loved the ladies getting along, and the camping trip was a hoot. I enjoyed Camille's wedding too. I started watching the franchise in season 5, when ED joined. I have never liked LVP, and won't miss her. I will watch next season, depending on who they bring on. Kathy Hilton? Likely a pass for me. Kim? Definitely a pass. But then I have managed to keep watching with Dorito still there, so I guess there is hope for anyone. I do agree though that the shows are aging - or I am. I only watch RHoBH, RHoOC and RHoNY. But if any of them were to go off the air, I really wouldn't care. I do not worship, or hate, any of the howives. I watch their lives, and am glad I have mine. Lol. -
S09.E17: A Double Shot Of Brandi

I wonder who looked after Denise's kids before Aaron came along? Or maybe she didn't work/travel much before he came into the picture? We know for sure it wasn't the fun parent Charlie, cuz looking after surly teenagers is not fun. I wish I could give Aaron my tip for step kids that don't listen. When my step daughter would leave stuff lying all over her room and not clean up as asked, I would give her two warnings, Then I would go in, scoop up the stuff lying all over the floor and put it away - but not in any place that she would know where it would be. Then after an appropriate period of time (ie whatever I decided) I would give the stuff back. Worked like a charm. -

Ya, I was wondering that myself, though it does seem to be the way these days, for parents to "do" their kids homework. Even 20 some years ago, I remember a good friend of mine helping her three boys with their homework and making sure it was done. We went to school together, and neither her parents nor mine even helped us with homework. Ever. Her husband refused to help, said it was the kids' job, not his. When she went back to work FT as a nurse, she was worried that she would have less time to help the kids and they would suffer. Guess what? They did their homework themselves, no problem. I don't have a problem with helping kids if they are stuck, but when parents coddle their kids and do the work for them, of course they are not helping them at all in the long run. But then, this is Kyle who carries Portia around like a toddler and shares her marital bed with her. -

I was a little confused when Kyle was talking about the closing of her store, She said it had been open for 7 years, but they showed the ribbon cutting ceremony in 2013, and this episode would have been in 2018. That's 5 years. I guess she is including from inception of the idea to closing? Or maybe she has learned some interesting new math by doing Portia's homework. -
The best line of the night for me was Bethenny's TH when she said, in referring to Ramona, "You floose, you loose". I flove it!! Though I didn't care for any of the art that they were gifted, especially at the first stop. Fugly. I really like Dabney. Can we have more of her, and no more of her mother? Ever? I thought when Beth was going to introduce Tinsley to a guy at the party, it was going to be the good looking Tony guy. Not that there was anything wrong with the guy she did introduce TIns to, and to me he looked to be about the same age as Scott. But with Scott Tins had the whole background before hand, most likely including his bank balance. I felt sorry for the guy, even if Tins was calling herself a loser for not being able to converse. I loved the views at the house, but hated the decor. There is no reason that a beach house can't have some colour, even if you prefer mostly white. This was white on white on white - totally cold and uninviting looking.

I still don't understand though why he would recognize the friend 20 some years later? Quite possibly she was going by another surname, or may not have even given him her surname if she was just inquiring about hiring him (didn't sound like she actually did hire him). Were the friends in the media that often when she was killed, complete with full names? Seems odd to me. I think Christy had enough because Dagger moved hundreds of miles away, with his wife, which is where he was the morning she was killed. How likely is it the relationship would have continued for any length of time after the move? I still think that it is possible that had he not moved, she would still have been with him. I think the friends were trying to sugar coat things, but since they supposedly didn't even know he was married, they only know for sure the version that Christy gave them.
-
I don't know why they would have had any reason to mention him though. The friends all said that they did not see him the weekend that Christy was murdered. It doesn't sound like he was the DJ at any club they were at, or even in attendance (that they saw) at one. I did find it odd that the one friend insisted that the murderer had to have known who she was, years later when he talked to him about DJ-ing at her daughter's wedding. Really? How strange that none of her friends knew that her long time boyfriend was married. I could see them not knowing if she had dated him for a year or so, but they said they had been together for several years. Would that not mean that often he would not be spending holidays etc. with her, since he would be with his wife? Also, since he moved hundreds of miles away with his wife, it would appear that he broke up with her, not the other way around. In any case I found the long time married boyfriend the most interesting part of the story. It is too bad though that, as part of his plea deal, the murderer didn't have to explain the circumstances of what led him to murder Christy.

S09.E16: Meet Rinna Jayne
UsernameFatigue replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Thanks KFB. I have heard of him, but don't follow designers or their lives, so had no idea. I do love cats though, and his is a cutie. I wonder how Camille felt, with LVP not only not bothering to acknowledge her wedding on the day, but also making a point to post pretty much how little she cared about it, or her supposed friend. I honestly can't think of a word to describe how little use I have for LVP. I am grateful to her though that she did not attend the wedding, Since she sucks and life and joy out of any room she enters, I was happy not to have to see her sour puss there. Same with this episode - an LVP free episode is an enjoyable one in my books. -

I love that Amy said, in essence, for Matt to STFU about how he has been waiting for two years for Amy to make a decision. Matt was checked out of the marriage (and into a relationship with Caryn) long before the divorce. So if Amy is taking longer to get to the place where Matt is, it is because he had a huge head start. I have two friends in similar situations. Both took a good two years just to begin to put their lives back together after their respective husbands left them. In both cases the exes moved on quickly, both with women that they had already started relationships with while married. So because it can't be said often enough, STFU Matt. And Caryn. -

I loved Rinna going to the party as Erika Jayne, and Erika going as Erika. Priceless. I have no idea who PK and Dorito were supposed to be. It has finally come to me who Mauricio sounds like when he talks - Sylvester Stallone. Or more specifically, Rocky. Kyle is really spending a lot of time this season talking about how much money she spends. Her comparison of the party costing the same as a certain number of Birkin bags was lost on me, because I have no idea (nor do I care) how much even one costs. I do get a weird vibe from Kyle and Rocky this season though - I get the feeling that all is not well in the Balboa household. -
S09.E15: One Wedding And A Polygraph
UsernameFatigue replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Sessa is just a Giggy without the fancy clothes. LVP is either really stupid enough to believe what she says about Grogan (regarding working for the FBI or police force - lol) or thinks the viewers are stupid enough to believe it because it is coming from her. Either way not a good look. If I ever had reason to take a lie detector test, you better believe that I would research who was going to administer the test. LVP is as much of charlatan as Grogan is. -
I ended up watching the episode again, as it is one that hits close to home. Jessica's mom and I grew up in the same hometown, close to Tweed. Roxanne is a few years older than me, but our brothers were friends. I haven't lived there since the late 70s, (in fact live across the country) and first heard of Jessica's disappearance when friends from my hometown posted her missing posters on Facebook. It seems like yesterday, and is just as shocking and horrific today as it was almost a decade ago.

Love It Or List It - General Discussion
UsernameFatigue replied to Lola16's topic in Love It Or List It
I am only watching the Kelowna shows this season, and have (so far) skipped the lower mainland ones. I thought Justin was doing the Kelowna shows and assumed Kenny was still doing the Vancouver area ones? Not sure what makes Justin a "fake construction hubby". His father has been a real estate developer for over 25 years building large projects, mainly in Alberta. They have been in Kelowna for a few years now as well and Justin was project manager for a condo development that was built here a couple of years ago, and is starting another this spring. -
S09.E15: One Wedding And A Polygraph
UsernameFatigue replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
She wasn't at a police station - it was a private polygraph examiner. From the looks of his office he rents in the same strip mall where Denise found a massage parlour that would give Aaron a happy ending. His desk was either full of scratches and chips, or covered in food crumbs. I don't watch Dr Phil or any of the other shock shows that give polygraphs, but I do watch a lot of true crime shows. I have never seen someone getting a polygraph where they are bundled up in so many clothes. LVP had on a blouse, a blazer and a scarf. A friggin' scarf that she didn't even take off. She looks even guiltier now than she did before the polygraph. She is really losing her shit. Stoned Mauricio is pretty funny. When he talked about how wonderful it was that Camille and David were on their second marriages, I was wondering if he was picturing his, with someone who will give him a son to carry on his name. I also thought it was odd that both of the times he and Kyle were taking the limo with the group, he sat in the back and she sat in the front. Wouldn't you think as one of only two couples there, they would sit together? Last week when they showed Camille in her wedding dress, I thought the material/pattern looked a lot like a bathing suit coverup I had in the 70s. Then when they showed the group arriving at her house, I thought "Why is she wearing her wedding dress now?" Odd that the two dresses looked similar in style and pattern. I didn't mind the bridesmaid dresses but thought they should have been short. Hated the flower head gear. They looked like child attendants at a royal wedding. -

They showed Jeremy at least once, as well as Odd and Ember. I think Matt said that Jeremy was helping out with the tractors or equipment or something like that. The best part of the whole episode was when they showed Ember on the bale of hay and she was giving the person beside her the stink eye. I was wondering who it was as you could only see the person's arm - turns out it was Matt. Ember has Matt's number already. My second fav part was Murphy. I laughed when Tori said that Murphy (to paraphrase) was bull headed, stubborn and didn't listen. I thought "Tori and Zach have adopted the dog version of Matt". But Murphy is much, much cuter and loves life. Matt, not so much. I was shocked that Matt was lost without Caryn at pumpkin season. He complains every pumpkin season about how he does everything and no one else can do what he does. And now all of a sudden Caryn was the big hero every year who kept things on track? Matt can stop whining about how Amy can't make up her mind. Matt hasn't been able to launch a toy pirate ship in a friggin' year. Wasn't that what Amy always said - Matt had big ideas but would take forever to get any thing done? Seems to be the case here. -

I didn't say that Matt was coming off as the good guy. I said that Matt is trying to come off as the good guy. Two very different things. Matt thinks that if he continually says that he will do whatever Amy wants, he looks like he is being conciliatory, and that Amy is a ditherer who can't make up her mind. He played the long suffering husband to the hilt for years, and now he is playing the long suffering ex. As readheaded pointed out, Matt hasn't made any kind of an offer. Apparently Amy is supposed to jump at any "offer" Matt makes, without any figures to make an informed decision. Matt does look and sound like a lunatic - to anyone other than Matt and Caryn. -

I love that Amy is keeping Matt guessing. And lets face it, Matt is trying to come off as the good guy, by letting Amy decide. But he is really being passive aggressive, by making Amy make the decision. I agree with Amy that though Matt says he can work with anything, it is just talk. There is no reason that he can't be the person to decide, but then he wouldn't be able to whine non stop about Amy which appears to be his full time job these days. -

I am glad that you found someone who shares your beliefs! I had never planned on getting married, either. Not only did dates not believe me, but several boyfriends didn't either. Two proposed, the last boyfriend before my husband proposed at least once a year for the 5 years we were together. Several things happened to make me change my mind on marriage, so sometimes who you are changes, which can change your beliefs. One thing I never changed my mind on was not wanting kids, which also contributed to not feeling the need to get married. I have many friends who married more because they wanted kids than marriage. Of course you can do one without the other - my hubby has two kids with his ex but they never married. It was not wanting kids that totally threw many people, and many told me I would either change my mind or regret my decision. I am almost 62 and haven't regretted that decision for even a second.
