  1. Interesting about the oldest daughter missing school. It must be that the mother could not control her oldest, rather than letting her miss school or one would think all the kids would have been given to the father due to them missing school. The father in law being a former police officer did not surprise me in the least. We have seen at least a half a dozen cases over the years where either the murderer was a cop or former cop, or a father in law who was involved with his daughter killing her current or former husband, was a cop. In my experience of the cops I know (some well, others casually) they pretty much go into law enforcement for one of two reasons: they genuinely want to help people, or they like the power it gives them. The father in law in this case was obviously of the latter variety.
  2. I don't think the business will actually come to fruition though, as I think the guy has next to no business sense and I don't see Lane wanting to be a babysitter or do most of the work. The guy didn't even have land, and there would be some red tape to setting up such a business. Golden is pretty much a tourist town already, so I don't see it as something that would add value. But even if it might, I don't see it actually happening with that particular pitcher.
  3. I was hoping someone might have posted about the last (I think it was) episode of the season. I can't imagine that the deal that Lane made with the VW bus guy will go through. Seemed like Lane was only giving him a deal based on nostalgia rather than any kind of a business plan. I thought that the Tutu lady's business would reach a very narrow group of women. Not all women like frilly tutu-ish wear - personally I hate it. In addition, she is ignoring 50 percent of women who might experience post partum depression by offering nothing that might help women who have given birth to boys. I kept waiting for a dragon to state to obvious. Neither hubby or I got the draw of having a couple of celebrities endorse (in a round about way) a pot business. I was with Arlene when she was shocked that Manjit made a deal. Oh, and the pitcher was sooooo annoying. Loved the granite guy, and so glad he got a deal with 5 out of 6 dragons. And that he didn't go with Vince who more often than not annoys the crap out of me. I must say though that the dragons seemed ready to have the season end. There was more than the usual amount of eye rolling, and not only from the queen of eye rolling, Manjit.
  4. I assumed that the reason the oldest daughter lived with her father was that she was old enough to decide who she wanted to live with. I would imagine as well that she may have known that her mother was accusing her father of all kinds of things that were not true. I feel sorry for her ex and his new(ish) wife, knowing that the first wife will be out of prison next year. I doubt very much that she has learned anything, and on top of that her ex's second wife adopted her kids and consider her their only mom. If she was mad enough before to kill, I doubt that hate has lessoned any. Possibly it has even increased.
  5. That Charles was expected to marry a virgin had nothing to do with the Queen, and everything to do with the expectation of anyone marrying a future king. That expectation goes back centuries. Times have changed and William was able to live with Kate for several years before they married. But 40 years ago it was still an expectation. I don't know how much the problems with Diana stemmed from her age. I would think any woman marrying the man she loves would have a problem with her husband still being in love with and seeing his former girlfriend. Unfortunately for Diana it just played out in front of the entire world. The one good thing to come from their farce of a marriage is that William was allowed to marry the woman he loved. And the passage of a few decades where the world had changed, particularly for women, quite a bit. Edited to add - part of the reason for a woman marrying a future king having to be a virgin was to ensure that if she were to get pregnant right away, that the baby belonged to the future king. With DNA etc. now that is now longer an issue. Again this "rule" does go back centuries.
  6. Like others I think Rodney Reed is right where he should be. Even without his history of assaulting other women, the logistics of it being her boyfriend just doesn't make sense. They lived it seems at least a 20 minute drive away from where Stacey worked since she left at 3am for a 3:30am shift, driving on a highway into the town where the grocery store was located. She did her boyfriend kill her, then drive all that way to dispose of the truck, then walk miles to get back home? Doubtful. But as it turns out the truck was found less than a mile from Rodney's house. I think the fact that her boyfriend ended up being a rapist points more to his innocence regarding Stacey than his guilt. If he did kill her, I find it hard to believe that he would not have raped her as well, if he was angry that she was cheating on him. Or angry at her for any reason. It isn't like he would not have a reason for his semen to be found in Stacey since they were living together and getting married. Finally I don't believe the co worker either. If it is something that was so taboo in that town during that time, why tell a co worker? Why not a close friend if you are going to tell someone? And that fact that there is absolutely no evidence of a relationship of any kind? Not likely. Also even the co worker's interview made no sense when she said that both she and Stacey said at the same time that she needed to be careful or words to that effect. It just did not ring true.
  7. Thanks for the info regarding Bailey and Jeremy still being together. I agree that Chris is the likely murderer.
  8. He wasn't arrested and charged though until 3 1/2 years after the murder, in March of 2019. Jan was killed August 2015. He was calling his insurance agent asking when he would get the money every few months after Jan was killed.
  9. I didn't get that either, especially considering how OTT he was with his grief at the police station. At the first of the episode I thought he did it, and was really overacting, as we often see when a spouse kills their partner. I also don't think that the fact that he did not go on to buy the resort means anything, as quite possibly it was sold to someone else by the time he might have had the funds to buy it. I googled to see if I could find any other information about the trial itself. Some of this may have been covered in the episode, as I did fall asleep during a bit of it. During the trial the prosecution said that Chris could not have been sleeping beside his wife when she was shot, as he would have had more blood on himself/his clothes. Also a neighbour saw Chris and Jan arguing while on a walk, the night that she was killed. In addition his insurance agent testified that Chris called him regularly every few months to get an update on when he would receive the money from Jan's life insurance policy. Maybe because he was still planning on buying the resort, but it ended up being sold before he got the insurance money? I still think it is more likely Chris than the boyfriend, if only because when Jan was killed they already knew that they did not have the funds to buy the resort. So there would be no reason to kill Jan to ensure that Bailey did not have to move. And why not kill Chris instead of Jan, since it is more likely Chris would possibly still move and run the resort than Jan would without Chris? In any case it had to be one or the other, and one of them got away with murder. Someone upthread posted that Bailey and the boyfriend are still together? I wonder where that info came from? In the link above, there is no mention of the boyfriend in the part about Bailey.
  10. They should have named this episode "The Real Braunwyn of OC". What a distasteful person she is. Brauny tells her therapist that she has been with her hubby since she was 18, she has 7 kids, and she has never had any adult responsibilities. Now most people would consider 7 kids to be adult responsibilities on steroids. Not Brauny. She just pops them out, it is someone else's problem to raise them. Then Brauny tells Rowan that now that she is sober, she can be there for Rowan as she battles her anxiety and OCD. Then when Rowan relates how worried she is about the elderly getting sick, Brauny tells her that it is her anxiety and OCD talking, and to just shut up. Apparently that will make those disorders go away. Who knew? Brauny then, rather than be there for her daughter, makes it all about herself once again, and has a melt down when Sean dares to interject a comment during Brauny's story. The editors must just love Brauny. I don't think they realize though that most of us hate her. And not in a love to hate way, but a hate to hate way. Oh, and she thinks she has 9 kids, and she is worried about being stuck at home with them. Hard to believe she is sober, when she doesn't even know how many kids she gave birth to. Elizabeth has turned out to be such a dud. She keeps talking about how successful she has been. Was she successful before she married money, or is she successful because she married money? I have thought the latter, but maybe I have missed what she did with her life before she married rich. How sad that she is in the middle of a horrible divorce where she will have enough money to live on for the rest of her life. Honestly this episode felt like 2 hours rather than one. I actually cheered at the end when they put up the notice that production had halted. Literally cheered.
  11. I wonder what Chris' mom thought about her perfect boy's porn site? I mean it isn't like he was just viewing porn, he was using Nicole to actually act out scenes and post them on site. And did the prosecutor really think that Chris was being set up, when he was obviously the one posting to the porn site? The prosecutor in particular was one scary woman. Making excuses for the burn on Nicole, that it must have happened when she curled her hair? Talk about grasping at straws. I can't believe that woman apparently advocates for abused women. Yikes.
  12. I don't think anyone else was involved - the neighbour saw Janea in glasses and a hat leave with Todd in his car. Then a neighbour where the car was found saw a similarly dressed woman leave the car there. From there she was traced via videos to the various businesses where she changed, call a cab, took a cab, etc.
  13. From what I remember, they thought he was killed at the scene where he was found. I think they thought he was killed in the car and I guess he died instantly as they said there was next to no blood on him. Then Jenea just opened the door and rolled him out of the car. The soles of his shoes were clean, and I believe he was found at the side of the road that ran through the orchard, so there was no work involved to move his body and hide it.
  14. I was googling the case, looking for info that Dateline might not have reported but didn't really come across anything else to add. I did however come across Todd's obituary, which is pretty cold. It states that he liked playing video games with his girls, and was married to his wife for 17 years. Nothing about leaving a loving wife, or a devastated family to mourn him. You know, the things you might see in the obituary of someone who died unexpectedly, not to mention violently due to a murder. Guess along with not displaying his picture in her office, Jenea could not muster anything too emotional in Todd's obit, despite her insistence to police that they got along great and she missed him terribly.
  15. But it was so much more than contacts. It was claiming not to know how to drive a stick, when her fingerprints were found on the gear shift, steering wheel and driver's side door of the car. It was claiming to be on her computer at the time of the murder, when it was proven that she was not. It was the neighbour seeing a woman wearing a ball cap and glasses in the passenger side of her husband's car, leaving the residence. It was the video of her asking the greeter at Walmart where the pay phone was, the same Walmart that the suspect then went to after the murder, to use the pay phone. It was the fact that the suspect made her way back to basically the area where Jenae lived after the murder. It is the fact that Janae had the exact same walk as the suspect, beautifully pointed out by Dateline itself in a video of slim Janae. And if you are going to kill your hubby but claim to love him, have at least one picture of him in your office where you have numerous other family pictures. And don't reenact parts of a murder plot that you and your family chose as entertainment on your LV vacation. Oh, and the daughter recognized the backpack the suspect was carrying. So much more than contacts. But yes, if you are going to claim not to wear contacts, only glasses, don't go on Dateline not wearing glasses and talk about wearing glasses and contacts. I also wondered about a motive, as it seems like she likely made more money than he did and the investigation did not mention money problems which is often the case in these failed marriages. I agree with a poster above who said that he likely cheated on Janae other times, than just his attempt to rekindle things with an old girlfriend. But again, why not just divorce? I don't get why these men and women take the chance of leaving their kids without either parent, not to mention taking away from their children a parent who by all accounts was a pretty good one, even if he wasn't such an upstanding husband.
  16. Shane is a perfect example of the saying, "Happy wife, happy life". In Emily's first years on the show she constantly ran down Shane, and finally admitted that she was unhappy because of her weight gain, and pain from her hip issues. Now that she has had hip replacement surgery and has been able to lose weight, she is a happy wife. Yes, Shane has said some snarky things previously but I have always liked his sense of humour, and felt sorry for him that Emily was ragging on him on national TV when she was obviously unhappy with herself.
  17. I was laughing as well at Kelly, claiming to work so hard on her beverage line, but doesn't know the flavours of the drink. And I doubt very much if Kelly would get much upon Rick's death, since he has two adult children. In addition. I thought I read somewhere that his apartment in NYC is a small one worth about $800,000? Not exactly rolling in it. Speaking of rolling in it, Kelly and Rick seem to have even less chemistry in bed that they do out of it. Ewwww. I am surprised that Brauny's kid that is supposedly into drag didn't wear a dress to the vow renewal. His comments at the renewal made me even more convinced that his fashion show last week was for attention and not much else. Speaking of attention, I see Brauny chose what was known a few years ago as a stripper wedding dress. Didn't know they were still a thing. As someone upthread pointed out, Elizabeth certainly talks a lot about money. And as Gina pointed out, for someone who isn't supposed to talk about her divorce, she talks about it alot. I wanted to like her, but so far do not. As someone who has always liked Shane (I know, we are a small but dedicated group) I am loving him this season. He is officially my favourite housewife, as my former fav Shannon is annoying me. Confront Kelly about her misinformation about your product Shannon, or STFU.
  18. How this franchise has fallen. Do TPTB really think that we care about the kids of the howives? I barely care about the howives themselves. Shannon's daughter is in her second year of writing a book? Don't care. Brawny's kid playing dress up for any reason? Don't care. Gina's daughter is having a birthday and wants the formerly unseen Matt there? Don't care. And since Elizabeth doesn't have kids but has a messed up sister, I am treated to her story, Also don't care. Most of us are dealing with something in our lives that is similar to at least one of the howives. Or has a family member who is. I watch the show to escape from every day life, not to be brought down by all of their various problems. Didn't this show used to be fun, at some point? About the only thing I liked was Gina saying that she is no longer going to save Matt, as I have come to like Gina and think she is going though something that many women do face. Have we ever been treated to a howife being filmed in bed with their significant other? Sheesh Bravo, I do not need to see Kelly and her house boy in bed together. Ever. I can barely stand the two of them clothed and standing upright.
  19. I don't get WWHL, so thanks for sharing that. I can't stand JM, but apparently she is even more of an idiot than I already thought. I thought she was a fan of this show? In any case good on Emily for giving it too her. I might add, as someone who has always liked Shane (table of very few, I know) I enjoyed seeing he and Emily at Shannon's party, obviously in a good place. Good for them.
  20. I totally believe that Shannon did not say that Gina's house was sad, and I have believed that from the start. Brauny pretty much outed herself as a liar when she told Sean that in her heart of hearts she believed that Shannon said it. She was saying that to the person who was supposedly there to hear it. Sean did not say "Yes, I heard it" in his convo to Brauny, and Brauny did not say "You heard it too, right Sean?". Because it never happened. Sean lied to Kelly because he wanted to hurt Shannon. Brauny lied because she wanted to hurt Gina, which she admitted. They are both pieces of shit, and deserve each other. I am not a Kelly fan, but I loved that she did not give Brauny the pats on the back that she was so obviously wanting/expecting from Kelly. And what the heck is up with Brauny inviting someone that she has said she doesn't even like, to an AA meeting? I'm with Kelly, I would not go either. How sweet that Kelly thinks that she will still be with Rick when he is 90. Interesting seeing the outside Kelly's, Brauny's, and Shannon's houses in a short period of time. If Brauny's rental is 8000 sq ft, Shannon's must be 10 as it is noticeably bigger. Kelly's is at least as big as Brauny's, if not bigger. And has a triple garage. Keep dreaming, Brauny. I loved the look on Shane's face when he was standing at Shannon's party with Sean. You could just tell that he was thinking "So glad that I am not the target of these women now". Lol,.
  21. I can't imagine why anyone would be jealous of Brauny, let alone Gina. She has a nutjob for a mother, a creepy husband that needs threesomes (or maybe it is Brauny that does) to keep their relationship together, has more children than brains, and thinks she is mother of the year but actually has two nannies raising her kids. In addition she lives in a rented house that appears to be half the size that she claims it is, and is continuing on, even sober, her unstable ways. If anything is sad and /or depressing, it is Brauny's life. Drunk or sober.
  22. Did Brauny really think that Shannon was going to have a liquor free house warming party because she was going? Seriously? Last week Brauny cried because Sean had a drink after she told him to. This week she thinks a party being filmed by Bravo is going to be dry because of Brauny? She really should not have signed up for this season if she is that fragile, and has that little of a grasp on the fact that the rest of the OC does not revolve around her.
  23. When Matt was showing Caryn the part of the property where he wanted to build, was that a neighbour's house that could be seen on the far left? There was a play structure in front of it, but it certainly wasn't the main house and didn't look like the DW. If I had all that property, the last place I would build would be where I could see the neighbour's house. It was interesting to see a bit of the renos of the main house over the year. It really is a beautiful home, and then did a great job with the renos to make the additions look like they were part of an original house. Does anyone know what the square footage of it is? I know it has a few garages which don't count in the sq footage (at least where I live) but it is a large house regardless.
  24. I don't remember a scene where Shannon said Gina's house was sad. If it had happened on tape, Bravo would have shown it. What I do believe is that Brawny was trying to drive a wedge between Shannon and Gina, because she doesn't like Gina. I totally believe Shannon, and as Shannon said Gina is the only one who actually owns - Brauny, Shannon and Kelly are all renting. It is also obvious that Brauny was lying about Sean hearing it too, because when she is talking to Sean later she said "In my heart of hearts I know she said it" or something along those lines. If Shannon said it and Sean heard it, Brauny would say "You heard it too". Unfortunately Brauny is as big of a piece of shit sober as she is drunk. I hope we don't have a whole season of Brauny talking about how she is there for her children now, as she leaves the 4 youngest for the nanny to get to bed, because Brauny thinks she has done enough by apparently just walking them upstairs. I guess she has a day time nanny and a night time nanny since she still has two? But then I guess that is necessary when day time facials are a priority, and the kids are too young to put themselves to bed. As another poster noted, I saw red when Emily's kid was pulling the kitten's tail. I really hope the camera person pointed out that you do not treat animals that way, when the parents seem to be oblivious. Just like they were with the dog being kicked. Those people should not own animals.
  25. I have joked that when I leave my house I think "If my house ended up on Dateline, would I be happy with how it looks?". And my house is always pretty neat and tidy. When the cops said that the house had been ransacked, I looked at hubby and said "How would they know?" So many stupid mistakes may by Cindy which have been already covered by other posters. And Jeff wasn't the sharpest stick in the woods, either. I miss the days when Dateline shows were actual mysteries, with murderers that were somewhat smart. In this case it was obvious from the start that it was Cindy, so really wasn't much of an episode. One thing I am wondering though -we have seen many true crime shows where the pastor of a church is either involved in the murder, or having an affair if nothing else. And the whole town knows. Does pastor mean that he is the leader of the church, or just part of the leadership? He obviously didn't make enough money to live on in his role as pastor. Where I grew up and anywhere I have lived since then, the heads of the churches (whether pastors, priests or reverends) were/are actually respected leaders of the town, and it is their full time job.
