  1. I actually laughed out loud when Kyle said that making the dumplings seemed like a lot of work. As someone who hates to cook (and pretty well doesn't, as my hubby enjoys it) I can relate. I actually thought Kyle was hilarious in this epi, and loved her impersonation of Kathy. My biggest surprise is that Tom's 16,000 square foot house only has 4 bedrooms. I like Erika's new rental. And I like that she dropped Tom off at work and then moved out. I think one of the headlines they showed on the episode about their split may be closer to the reason she left. I don't think she and Tom planned the split together.
  2. In your posts you have hit the nail on the head with regards to why I am appalled at Crystal's attempts to demean Sutton. If Crystal did/does have bulimia, she also has a mental disorder. How would she have felt if, after sharing with the women, one of them called her the names she called Sutton? Glass houses, Crystal, glass houses.
  3. I can't remember the last time I watched an entire show, and often don't get past the first few minutes if the guest hosts do not interest me. That was the case today, but I was struck by what Amanda said to explain Elaine's absence: "Elaine is off today but we love her and wish her the best". Is she off because she is sick? Why do they need to wish her the best? Odd, I thought. I wouldn't be surprised if Elaine does not return next season. I don't understand why she was hired if she has to do so many shows remotely. I also don't think the show is going in the direction that Elaine was hoping it would, so I would not be shocked if she did not return in the fall.
  4. As always, I find it hilarious that designers can get people to spend $95,000 (or whatever outrageous amount) on an ugly assed purse. When they first showed it sitting on the table at Crystal's house, I thought it was one of her kids' lunch boxes. Or maybe BH kids don't carry lunch boxes? Or do designers make those too for the kids of pretentious people? Speaking of Crystal, I have figured out why she was so stressed at Lake Tahoe. She didn't have her nanny Lucy to take away her stress, like she has in BH where Lucy deals with the kids. If Crystal had to deal with her kids herself, Sutton would be a piece of cake. Why on earth was Kyle wearing a bra with the Who Wore It Best dress? Rinna wore it best by a long shot. I really like how Doreet handled Kyle in their talk. And as an aside, PK does look like he lost weight. And he is one of the few people I have seen who looks better in specs that without.
  5. I was confused when Matt said that he and Caryn currently live in a townhouse. I thought he lived in the DW on the farm? And assumed that Caryn was there as well. If they do live in a townhome, at least any townhome that I know has at least three levels, often four. That is a lot of stairs. So not sure why this house would be such a problem with two levels. In any case though, do they live together FT or not?
  6. Leah always manages to say something jaw dropping per episode. This time is was that she is a problem solver. WTF? A problem creator, absolutely. I love how narcissists see themselves in a totally delusional way. Ramona looked lovely in her THs. Is it the way the show is edited, or does Sonja go from normal (for Sonja) to BSC in a matter of seconds? She isn't even entertaining in her ramblings anymore. All in all, not a terribly entertaining episode. As someone posted upthread, the best part was breaky at Ramona's after Leah left. Less Leah is always a bonus.
  7. Though neither wear clothes that I would, (or could pull off, at any age!) I actually prefer Amanda's style to Elaine's. The 60s inspired dress that Amanda wore a couple of Monday's ago on her mother's birthday I thought was perfection. I wondered why Elaine could not at least join in remotely today. Then tonight on ET I saw there was a story about more people that Chrissy Teigen had bullied including a Project Runway alum. It made me wonder if that is why Elaine was not on, because she did not want to weigh in on the topic. I also thought that Amanda was the most critical of Teigen, the other three were too easy on her. I also agreed with Amanda about the Bennifer PDA. I had no idea what the one male host was going on about, and Sheryl just wanted some of Ben for herself. Interesting that they never showed that when Bennifer was busy devouring each other, JLo's kids were right there. A few seconds later in the video it shows her son trying to get her attention. Not that they aren't old enough to see their mother act like a teenager, but considering she was engaged to someone they were quite fond of a short time ago, not the best parenting example.
  8. I have never heard any talk (no pun intended) of Amanda possibly being let go. I would assume that if she was unpopular she might be, but have never heard that in general. Personally, Amanda is the reason I kept watching after Marie left. Had they brought on someone else I may not have. I don't think Amanda agrees with the others any more than the others agree with each other. The weakest link to me is Sheryl, and even more so now with Carrie Ann gone as the times she does moderate I think she is the weakest of the three hosts. Since I don't watch Project Runway, has Elaine been on it for awhile? It seems odd to me that The Talk would hire someone who would not be able to commit to being in studio for the majority of the time. There must be many women who could fill that spot in person. Just curious as to why this is, and how it will play out.
  9. How strange - part of my post was quoted by you, but my actual post has disappeared. I don't have kids either (though do have now grown step kids) and only started watching when Marie Osmond was on. But for me they need to have a more rounded cast with varying back grounds, and that include life experiences to do with personal relationship situations. I will most likely be out unless it is a co host that I really like. Many shows go through transformations, including the View that may still be all women but was never initially a show that was political. The book Ladies Who Punch is very interesting as it delves into how the show because political. I used to watch The View years ago but haven't now for a long time. I am not a die hard The Talk fan though, so if I stop watching it really won't be a big loss for me. Edited to add: I agree with the above post that they really don't need 5 co hosts. Often with so many one of the hosts doesn't even get a chance to contribute to a topic. However the current cast/chemistry is not strong enough IMO to carry the show for another year even if/when Carrie Ann returns.
  10. I only watched the first few minutes as I didn't know the guest hosts so wasn't interested. However I did notice the bug and assumed it was on the camera lens. The link in an above post says that Jerry O is in final talks to become Sharon's replacement which would be fine with me. I also hope Carrie Ann comes back and is able to stay healthy. I do not like that Elaine is remote - is that to continue for the foreseeable future? I don't watch Project Runway, but do not like that a host has another gig that requires that they participate remotely. Once in awhile is OK, but this seems to be quite often in Elaine's case. I like Jerry because he brings much needed humour to the show. Sometimes a bit too much maybe, but he is much funnier that Sheryl who is supposed to be a comedian. I also like that he is married with children. They need another host that has kids as currently Amanda is the only one, with the other three having no kids. He would also be the only one in a long term marriage since three are not married and Elaine is basically still a newlywed. I do find it interesting that neither Rumor or Brigitte has guested even once since Sharon left. Hmmmmmm. Their choice or have they not been asked? Odd since they have guested so often before.
  11. Maybe Sutton should have offered her the roller when Crystal had her melt down. Maybe she sent her one when they returned to BH, since Sutton likes giving gifts. Seems like Crystal could use it. Yep, and I am sure even wealthy people have attachments to their homes. Since Sutton bought a home for a few million dollars less that the one she sold, she quite likely did have to sell. Not sure how long she lived in it, but her children obviously were raised for some period there as well, so I am sure it has lovely memories. I have lived in my dream home for 16 years, and hope to live in it for another 16 before we might be too old for the upkeep. But it is my sanctuary, and we have lots of fur and feathered friends in our yard daily. I will be devastated when the time comes to move. No question.
  12. The correct pronunciation is the way the person who is named that pronounces it. In this case, Doreet.
  13. I thought Garcelle's head looked huge with her hair pulled back. She is a pretty lady, but that hairstyle did nothing for her. As much as I am not a Dorit fan, and refer to her usually as Dorito here, I would never do so to her face. I think it was quite rude of Garcelle to call Dorit "Door-it". It just goes to prove that Dorit is a nicer person that I am, as I would have responded by calling Garcelle "Garlic" just to see how she liked it.
  14. I loved this episode, mostly because there was less Crystal. She was a bitch to Sutton on the boat, so when she sent the text that she wasn't coming for dinner, I actually cheered. Her tears the next morning didn't move me one iota, because she was a stone cold mean girl to Sutton. Boo f-ing hoo, Crystal. And she calls Sutton crazy, but she is all teary eyed over something that happened a day and a half before, and she wasn't bothered enough to mention previously? I loved watching Sutton enjoy herself with the other ladies, and her routine with Rinna was a hoot. Good on her for having such a good time. I am sure Crystal not being there contributed to Sutton's happiness. I know it did mine.
  15. That was about the only entertaining part of the whole episode. I wasn't a huge Heather fan when she was on before, but I am absolutely loving her this season. The fact that she does not take Toddler Leah seriously is the best. I am so tired of the rest of the women catering to Leah every time she has a tantrum. They did it again at the end of the episode when the toddler clomped out of the limo and declared that she wasn't going because Heather was. Eboni even offered to drive her in her car, FFS. But sure enough, in the previews, there is Leah on stage with everyone else. So Eboni goes to Leah, who she knows can't stand Heather, and says that Heather is upset that Leah may not vote. Leah then storms out of the room and yells at Heather, saying that Eboni told her that Heather said Leah was irresponsible for not voting. Now we never saw Heather use that word, and Heather said she didn't use that term. Eboni though says she thinks she did. You know what triggers me? Someone who accuses me of saying something that I didn't say. I thought Heather was pretty gracious to let that go. All in all, another 43 minutes or so of my life that I will never get back.
  16. I will be surprised if Carrie Ann returns, but she is definitely missed. While Amanda and Elaine may be new, they are much more adept at introducing topics and cutting to commercials. If I were new to watching the show, I would have thought that Sheryl was the newbie. Interesting that they are continuing with male co hosts even into June. I really think that it will be a male who replaces Sharon. I would love for it to be hot Jesus, or Jerry as my second choice. The others have been just OK, with the exception of Jay P. When he guested again last week I turned off the show when he got to his Jamie Fox impersonation. I don't watch the show for stand up, and he is just annoying. Loved the interview with Ellen Burstyn today. My fav movie of hers is Same Time Next Year, but she has had an amazing career. And still going strong at 88! Not feeling Seven Weber as a host, though I love him as an actor. Too low energy. Hard to find a happy medium between manic and comatose. Finally, I loved the video of Elaine as a 16 year old. She is a pretty lady, but she was stunning as a teenager. Wow!
  17. I dislike bathroom "humour" as well, even if someone is referring to themselves in the story. That said, I find Jerry hilarious 80 percent of the time. I think he is much funnier than Sheryl, I rarely laugh when she is trying to be amusing. I would have no problem if Jerry were to become a permanent host, as I like hearing the male perspective. And honestly I find Jerry to be warmer and fuzzier than many women. I did laugh last week at Elaine's story of wearing her ex boyfriends' underwear, and her husband wondering whose undies were in the laundry. Also funny was the other male co host (who I can't remember the name of off hand) when he wondered how tiny Elaine's ex boyfriends were. Lol.
  18. I agree. She was in her early 30s when he dumped her, and was in school studying psychology. You would think that she may have come across one or two personality disorders that maybe should have reminded her of her husband. In addition he was facing over 300 lawsuits at the time he disappeared. She knew about them, but thought he was innocent in all cases. She was not naive, she was willingly ignorant. Until she became a victim of sorts herself.
  19. I think you might be right. In general I found the shape the apartment was in to be less than desirable.
  20. There certainly is no chemistry between them on camera. Not that that is unusual, but I really don't think that they would be together now if it wasn't for the baby. I did laugh when Steve asked her for a kiss and she said no. I have been trying to figure out who Steve looks like now, and totally missed Ryan's comment that he looks like Steve Jobs, but he totally does! Amazing how a hair cut can change someone's looks so much. I used to think Steve was really good looking, now I think he is ordinary at best. Also when shown from the back his hair looks patchy in spots, so if nothing else he should grow it out a bit more for that reason alone.
  21. Actually the name Kirsten can be pronounced both ways. I have a friend named Kirsten and it is pronounced KEERsten. Kirsten is a Scottish name, and her father is Scottish (born and raised) so I assume that is the original pronunciation. Maybe Ryan knows someone who pronounces their name that way as well, but yes he should pronounce Kirsten's name the way she does. BTW, I have deleted the episode, but I just saw an interview where Ryan refers to Kirsten as Kristen, so maybe he is having a hard time in general with the name - lol.
  22. I love galley kitchens in small apartments. The first home I bought many years ago was an apartment with a galley kitchen. It was perfect for me as I don't like to cook, and preferred to have more space in the living room and bedroom. But for me, if I lived in that apartment it would annoy me to have such a small kitchen in a large apartment, even if I didn't cook!
  23. I often find Elaine irritating, and did during this conversation as well. Being married barely a year, they are still basically newlyweds. Having date nights is hardly a big deal. One of the reasons I like Jerry as a co host is that he has a decently long marriage, as well as kids. And I like his irreverent humor regarding both. But his is also realistic. I also loved Amanda's answer - so level headed. The ebb and flow of a marriage is the best thing about it IMO. I do not need to be "on" all the time, nor does my husband. I like that I can take him for granted at times, and vice versa. I know he always has my back and I have his. That to me is what marriage is - a partnership that sometimes grows and sometimes is stagnant. But all parts are precious.
  24. Not to mention that the furnishings that they chose in order to show the home looked like they came from thrift stores. I am not one who believes that you need to spend thousands of dollars in staging, but I think it would have looked better empty than it did with what looked to be a bunch of cast offs. I also thought that for a 4700 plus sq ft apartment, the kitchen was ugly and claustrophobic. I often wonder if these scenes are staged where two realtors are negotiating. We often see where one will say that their client's best and final is actually lower than it really is. So is the seller ticked off when they see the show and realize that they could have sold for more money? Or is it all scripted? I am leaning towards the latter. I continue to enjoy Tyler this year. He is a lovely departure from sad sack Luis. I know Luis had problems, but after awhile I just wanted him to go away and work on them. I love Tyler's enthusiasm, and that he is new to making big deals. Not sure about the scene where he is interviewing male models though. That would not be to acceptable if it were female models, and shouldn't be just because they are male.
  25. The best thing about RHoBH is that there is no one named Leah in the cast. What a breath of fresh air that is. I loved all the outfits that the ladies wore to Dorito's non BBQ. With the exception of the new howife's outfit which was boring AF. Rather than age shame the others and make that the reason that they wear bright colours, new girl should hope that she develops some fashion sense as she ages. Also interesting that pretty much all of the cast are younger than her husband. Does she age shame him too? I really hope Garcelle moves on from last year. Her continued ragging on Kyle is as boring as Leah's is of Ramona on NY. I hope she has something else to bring to the table this season. Did Dorito move again? While her back yard looked lovely, I don't remember the front of her house being so ugly. Is it too much to hope that this may be one of the last episodes that we ever see Mikey?
