Million Dollar Listing LA - General Discussion
UsernameFatigue replied to Aethera's topic in Million Dollar Listing LA
I am not interested in seeing the kids of the realtors, so I am really not interested in the annoying spawn of some random client. Josh thought their antics caused him to waste his time during showings? Their antics wasted my time as a viewer. If this becomes a trend I will have to ditch the show. Also as someone else pointed out, the bunches of bananas looked the same from the initial meeting with the spawn, to the day of the showings, so it seems everything was filmed on the same day. Oh, and the house was really boring on the outside - not even any contrast, with the brick also being white. Yawn. I hope we are done with seeing Tracy's sister. Tracy's voice is annoying enough, so to have two people with that ear bleeding vocal fry is two too many. I can't believe that her sister is an interior designer. She has terrible taste. Also was the poor dejected pooch they showed lying outside of Tracy's house when she was on the phone at the start of the epi, the one that usually hangs out at Josh and Bobby's? I'd be sad too if I was stuck with Tracy when I could be with Bobby. The only thing I find entertaining about Tracy is her terrible fashion sense. -
S11.E19: Over-Poured and Over-Board

That may be the best line of the entire season. Priceless! Why is supposedly broke Erika dragging hair and make up people with her on the trip? Malignant narcissist indeed. WTF was up with Dorito's ear buns? The hairstyle looks ridiculous on children, and looked really, really ridiculous on Dorito. Sutton continues to be my fav howife, with Garcelle a close second. I laughed in the THs when the producer was asking the women their safe word, and Sutton said hers was "stop". Lol. I love Sutton. -
The only thing I knew about Tyra previously is that she was a model. I have no idea why she is hosting this show, which she seems to think is The Tyra Banks Show with some dancing thrown in. Mind boggling that she is back for a second season. Regarding today's topics, whenever Will and Jada's marriage is brought up in any medium, it always seems like Will is way more into Jada that she is into him, and willing to do whatever to hold on to her. I have no idea why. His comment that they don't want marriage to be a prison is laughable. If you are married to the right person, prison is the last thing marriage is. I feel sorry for Will, as he never seems happy. OTOH he puts up with it, so I guess he is the one at fault for his unhappiness. If anything, he is the one in prison.

If you have DWTS taped and haven't deleted, you have to watch further on to see Tyra's next ridiculous costume. I, like you, stopped watching after Amanda. But then I went on the DWTS thread and read the comments and had to see it for myself. WTH? Do the costume people really hate her, or is she that narcissistic that she thinks she looks good? I don't understand why they got rid of Tom, to bring on someone so unsuited for the gig. Argh!! Continuing to watch usually the first half of the show, and am enjoying the addition of the two guys.

So would someone in the military actually take a sharpie and write "secret" on some CDs, while they are on the base? Wouldn't they have a proper label? Just wondering. Good point about the aunt just happening to find the shell casing in the now security camera-ed porch. Why bother now, when the occupants are dead? If Cal and Pam were really afraid for their lives prior to their murders, why would they not have installed cameras then in case someone was prowling around, meaning to do them harm?
-
But Joan did bring them to the military authorities, as that is what she wanted to happen. As far as Dateline goes, they did not report everything that happened in the trial, both for and against Kit. There were also things brought up regarding Joan in the trial. As far as the post above regarding the episode, I have no problem with how this episode was presented. We have seen family members who, even after someone has been proven not to be guilty, continue to assert that the person is guilty. We have also certainly seen our share of wrongful convictions. Given what a POS Joan is, I have no doubt that she is not the innocent she portrays. And I think Cal's sister is delusional with regards to her brother's relationship with Joan. Cal's son and sister went on Dateline - they didn't have to. They chose to put themselves out there. I don't know that without their input, there would even have been an episode as who else would Dateline have had to interview, other than the dog lady?
-
Oh, and another thing. Lol. Kit filed for divorce from Joan, not the other way around. If Kit really had beat her son (and supposedly had been for years) why would she not have filed to divorce him? Why did she not go to the police with the allegations and photographs? Why did the kid not tell someone ie at school? Why did Joan wait until she "found" a laptop that Kit supposedly stole, to bring up the pics and allegations of abuse when he was going to be court martialed? Because the pics and claims might get her a 6 figure payout? Whereas going through the channels that most would if their kid was supposedly being abused, would garner her no money. And possibly a higher burden of proof. Anyhoo, I have no idea who killed the three victims, but don't think it is likely Kit anymore than Joan.
-
I was just going to post several of the points you have made. The casing was found by Cal's sister 8!! months after the murder, but as you say was basically steps away from the cellar door. Also with regard to the timeline posted above by TVBitch, I am not sure about the on the spot decision with regards to Pam and the neighbour's bodies, as the prosecution thought that Kit got up at 1:10 am to drive the car to the outskirts of town and burn it. Not really an "on the spot" decision. Also by the time Cal was killed, Joan was long gone from Kit's life and he was living with his new girlfriend (can't remember her name). Why would he beat Cal up three years later for sleeping with Joan? One would think given Joan's past and pack of lies, he might buy Cal a beer for giving him yet one more reason to split with Joan. In addition, both Joan and her oldest son were supposed to testify at the trial but refused. I always like to google for info on the trial, and this morning found Court TVs reporting under "Former Pilot Guilty in Kentucky Triple Murder Case". Even it points to me more to Kit's innocence than guilt, including testimony that the casing was not from the Kit's gun, and incorrect evidence regarding the cell phones previously. There is also testimony given regarding Joan, including a contractor who saw Joan with a glock in her waistband, Among other things. IN addition Kit's girlfriend and her two children testified to alibi Kit. Three friends of Cal and Pam's testified that they did not go away for Thanksgiving as they were afraid that Kit would be hiding in their house when they got home to kill them. Really? Why did they supposedly think that? Why not report it to the police that they were afraid for their lives? And why would they have to go away for Kit to get into their house and hide? If Pam was really concerned that their lives were in danger, why would she wait hours after finding out that the delivery person could not deliver the dishwasher, to have the neighbour check on Cal? And if she was so concerned that their lives were in danger, why send the neighbour into possible danger? Or go home by herself? That makes no sense to me, and makes me wonder if the friends were convinced by someone close to Cal and Pam to make those claims? And if Cal and Pam were worried about their safety, why not not tell that to their own son, or at least Cal's sister? Did they not tell them why they supposedly weren't going away for Thanksgiving? I also don't see why Cal's testimony at the court martial would be so important? Enough to murder him? All he could testify would be that he was with Joan when she found the lap top and CDs. And that the kid told him he was abused, but it didn't sound like Cal believed him. As far the the CDs go, I am wondering why they would have "secret" written on them? Is that something that a military person would do with CDs that they have a work? Seems strange to me - wouldn't that invite someone to look at them? Would not a code of some sort be used, rather that writing the word "secret" on them with a black sharpie? Wouldn't someone in the military use a word like "classified" rather than "secret" which sounds mickey mouse.
-
I didn't understand that either, how Joan could get away with not being called to testify. Even if she didn't answer questions, the jury could see that she was not cooperating.
-
More things that didn't make sense in the "evidence" against Kit: Why would he use his own gun to kill Cal, and then keep it at home for the police to find? I also think the casing was planted after the fact. The man who supposedly saw Kit a few days before the murders near a fence in the area where the burnt out car was found? Why would Kit be casing a place to bring a car with bodies, to then burn? How would he have known ahead of time that he was going to kill Pam and the neighbour, hours after Cal was killed? And then want to dispose of their bodies somewhere else? Also, how far was this from his home? Because he would then have had to walk home. But his girlfriend said he was home the whole time. There is speculation that Joan's oldest son may have acted with her. Which would certainly make sense as far as moving bodies, and someone to follow Pam's car and bring Joan home from the outskirts of town after the car was set on fire. Her kids shown at the AT&T store were certainly teenager age. And what was up with Joan supposedly finding Pam's phone in her yard a month after the murders? Where did she even live at that point? I also read that Joan was expecting a 6 figure compensation payout at Kit's court martial, which didn't happen. She may have killed Cal because he was going to turn against her when he testified, and that would put her payout in jeopardy. I also think it is possible that the pictures were staged. Kit's first wife of many years did not believe the stories or that he was guilty of abuse or murder. But Joan needed the abuse allegations for a possible payout. Also as someone else pointed out the time line is strange, with hours passing between when Cal was killed, and Pam and the neighbour were killed. Kit was shown arriving home around the time. The day of the murders was a week day - it was never stated where Kit was during the day, but one would assume at work? I don't think they said either way?

Ya, Cal was a peach. Not that he deserved to die, but from what they played of the taped conversation, he was shocked that the whole situation with the lap top had gone has far as it had. And he sounded very insulted that he was cheating with a bigamist. Boy, did Joan have a nerve! He did sound to me though that he was more on Kit's side than Joan's. I wonder if, after the visit from the PI, Cal possibly confronted Joan about the convenience of her "finding" the lap top and CDs with him present, wrapped up in her great grandmother's old quilts? Honestly, if Kit had taken the laptop etc, why would he hide them in Joan's possessions? And even if he did (which I don't believe happened),why would he not move them when Joan moved out, assuming she would return for the rest of her stuff? And what was the supposed reason for Kit to take that stuff and hide it in some old quilts in the attic in the first place? I think Cal was a scorned lover, thinking that Joan was really into him but found that he was just another man she was using. He said in the tape that she would pay, and I think that he turned on Joan so was just another in the line of men who would pay. Framing NotHubbyKit was a way to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. And the planting of the fake dog tags and the casing just part of it. If Kit was going to go to the trouble of having fake dog tags made and planted, he would have done much more to cast suspicion on another party. Given what was presented on Dateline, I could not have found Kit guilty. I think it is much more likely Joan, but she was too busy casing her next mark to testify, or be interviewed. I wonder if her oldest kid has now gotten in touch with his NotDeadFather, or her other kids gotten in touch with their NotAbusiveorDivorcedFather. She is a piece of work, just one in a line of many we have seen on these shows. I fully expect to see her in another murder case down the road.......

I've only been able to watch a couple of shows, but what I have seen so far I like. I have a couple of taped shows that I hope to get to on the weekend. But I am enjoying the guys' POV. In fact since many of the topics seem to be family and kid related in the shows I have watched, Sheryl seems often to be the one with nothing really to contribute. I ff'd past most of DWTS as I did not know who most of the "stars" were. I thought Amanda did really well too, but doubt she will win. She does deserve to go far though, if not to the finals. I do not like the pro they partnered her with. I know Amanda is tall, but I don't like that her partner is barely as tall as Amanda.
-
Forgot to add, I was so annoyed when Sheryl mispronounced Dan Levy's last name. It is pronounced with a short e Sheryl, not a long e. Even if she doesn't know Dan, his father Eugene has been around for decades. Though she would likely pronounce his name incorrectly as well. It is a pet peeve of mine, particularly when it is done people who are being paid to know better.

I have only ever watched DWTS when there has been someone on that I was interested in, and I haven't watched for a few years. I will watch be watching this season because of Amanda, and hope she does well. I also just finished reading the book she co wrote with her sister, and though it was heart breaking, I thought the book was well written. I could watch a show with just Jerry by himself. He always makes me laugh out loud at least a couple of times an episode. I loved his story of the reason he and his wife went to counselling. I can relate as hubby and I also went to counselling before we were married because I thought his family, particularly his two siblings, took advantage of his kindness and generosity. (He has a big extended Italian family). I know he only agreed to go because he thought the counsellor would agree with him. She didn't- lol. We have never had to go back (that was 18 years ago) but it was definitely something that needed to be addressed by an impartial third person. I also loved James Brolin's saying : happy spouse, happy house.

Oh, I am quite aware that the house should be a tear down. My point was that Josh said the developer wanted to gut it, which at least where I live does not mean the same thing as tear down. My grandmother's house, which would have been a tear down if not for its heritage designation, has been essentially gutted on the inside, retaining some of its unique features but totally renovated and updated. It is absolutely gorgeous inside, and from the outside still retains its 1910 charm. That is what gutting means to me. However if the owner of Josh's listing thinks she will find someone who will not touch the inside, she is delusional. It has no charm, what so ever. -

I loved this episode. Great properties, the realtors getting along and the focus on selling, rather than home life. That said though, I would watch a whole episode of just Bobby and Tracy's dog. I hope by the end of the season the caption will read "Josh and Bobby's dog" as I am sure puppy gets way more attention there than with Tracy and her kids. I love that Josh Flagg is so honest with his clients. While the yard was fabulous, that mid century modern house really was an eye sore. I didn't understand why the client would not even entertain the developer's offer, as Josh said he wanted to gut the house, which to me means he wants to re do the inside. Josh didn't say that the developer wanted to tear it down. Frederick and Altman imitating each other was pretty funny. I must say though I prefer Fredrick's approach to showing a house, rather than Altman's which often consists of using outdated catch words and phrases. Altman often comes off as sounding "dope"-y. -
Both Toronto and Vancouver are pretty popular cities for both movies and series to be filmed, so I googled to see what and where Harry is filming. He is staring in the second season of the National Geographic scripted series The Hot Zone, filming in Toronto. I will definitely watch it when it airs in November, as I love Harry as an actor. (And a person for that matter). I am also going to search for the first season as I love series that are based on real life stories. Like others, I thought PK was hilarious in this episode. I am sure he is enjoying the heat being on someone else. I still think he is full of s**t though, as I don't for a minute believe he was worth two billion dollars at one time. But as someone else posted, I would watch an episode of just the ho-husbands. They were hilarious. I loved seeing the flash back to Crystal's Fisher Price lunch bag. Too funny. And what was up with her basement? It looked like a hoarder's dream - or nightmare. Yikes.

My PVR didn't record Monday's show, and I didn't get past the first few minutes of Tuesday's. I didn't know who Sheryl was imitating, but it was way too OTT and loud for me so I didn't continue watching. I did watch today, at least until the guests (which is not unusual for me). I do like the addition of the two guys, and Jerry in particular I find priceless. I find that he often says what I am thinking, and feel that women are often too PC to say what he will say. I laughed today when he teased Akbar about his story of difficulty in high school, which ended with his admission that he was prom king. Jerry was hilarious. I also loved it when he said that he joined the zoom high school reunion and then decided, nope, I am out of here. I am like Jerry, high school was fine but I also have no interest in a reunion, I already stay in touch with the friends who were important to me. I do like that Akbar has kids, and think the panel is pretty balanced. I hope they don't bring a 5th co host in, as I find when there are 5 often not all get to share their opinion on whatever the subject is.

S11.E16: Threats and Promises
UsernameFatigue replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Kathy should have asked Erika to leave, since she is the one making everyone uncomfortable, and threatening Sutton. It isn't like she needs the money from the show so is doing the producers' bidding? Heck, even poor Patrick looked intimidated. A host/hostess should control a bad situation, and Kathy failed miserably. Now of course pretty much every dinner ends with a fight of some sort, but that scene was uncomfortable even for me as a viewer. Sutton has become my fav howife of all time. She stood her ground, and then even showed up at Garcelle's party knowing Satan would be there. And Sutton actually is rich, which is supposed to be the premise of these shows. Erika had better watch her step, or their will be no housewarming gift from Sutton when she goes to prison. -
Agreed. It is not normally the type of show I would watch, but tuned in because it stars former Schitt's Creek cast members Sara Levy and Tim Rozon. They play my two fav characters on SE, but I have come to enjoy all of the characters. The writing can be funny and clever as well. I laughed when teenage Zoe described Twizzlers as sugary jumper cables. It makes no sense that she would not know, even at 16, what they were as given her birth year Twizzlers were around long before it. But it was a cute description nevertheless.

I didn't even know Brianna had a third child as I haven't been following the RHoOC thread for awhile. I googled and third kid was born last November 18th, so he is 9 1/2 months old. So it looks like the last two will be about 16 months apart in age as she has announced that number 4 will arrive in March. Is she on maternity leave from where she works (assuming she was still working when she had number three?). If she lived in Canada, she could still be on maternity leave for number three when number four is born - lol. -

I assumed it was just for the storyline, and that Tracy pretended that she didn't know the dog was gone. But I really hope that Josh keeps the dog. If none of the family members, including her children, care that the dog is gone for a week or more whenever, they don't deserve to have the dog. -

I have forgotten how much I hate Tracy's voice - it is like chalk on a blackboard to me. I am not sure why she is surprised that her boyfriend gets along with her daughters. Aren't they closer in age to him than she is? And what was up with his man boobs when he was in her home gym? Was he wearing some kind of undergarment that made him look like a B cup? Weird. I love that Josh Flagg has seemingly adopted Tracy's dog. So cute. And also love his friendship with Altman. I am enjoying the return of MDLLA for the houses alone. I get bored with the condos on MDLNY, so happy to see houses and yards again. -
I only remember the exchange being between Carrie Ann and Elaine. In fact I don't even remember if Sharon was there that day. Carrie Ann did say that it was a viewer question, but also said that as a POC herself, she also wondered. She said (to paraphrase) that Asian people, herself included, have been the target of racial slurs, but they would never use those words in reference to each other. I don't even remember Elaine's answer, as she was so rude in her reply. Especially considering she was talking to someone who is also a POC and has experienced racist comments and prejudice. Edited to add - I thought Marie was not invited back, not that she left because it was her decision?

And jumped ship after just half a season, since Eve only left in December of 2020. Edited to add- that is likely what you meant about this year as opposed to season. 😀
