  1. With news of a new season on the horizon, I have to ask: what would you want to see on the show? While it's been a while since I've thought of Young Justice, here's what pops out of my mind: Wally, alive and well, in Bart's time. Basically, the young speedsters have swapped eras, and Wally gets a look at what life under Darkseid is like. Since we have Nightwing and Beast Boy already, maybe we could get Starfire? Love triangle with Dick, Kori and Babs? I was also thinking Aqualad could be more interesting, but seeing how he basically turned against the team as part of a longer con, I'd say his monotone personality is something I can live with. How about more of the pseudo-Super Friends? I'm thinking Static might be off the table, but the others would make up for it. I kinda miss the chanting as Tye formed his astral giant.
  2. I saw the old pics of Hilary, and the only thing I could think was "Marcia! Marcia!! MARCIA!!!" Please tell me I'm not the only one. Here's hoping Sam can exhale on Wednesday night. As well as all of us. I'm uncertain how much water we need to dump on her, because she's been on fire for so long.
  3. Mon is totally going to get into prostitution, isn't he? James. Jimmy. You're in charge of CatCo, and you're way handsomer than any Jimmy Olsen has ever been. Why do you want to gear up? Be yourself, and occasionally emasculate Snapper in front of Kara. Winn and Lena had a cute moment. I am questioning how Kara can change so quickly to keep up appearances. I'm guessing Hank had the week off. I like Alex/Maggie slightly more than Oswald/Ed over on Gotham. Things seem to be progressing quickly, though. Would've been funny if Kara had more of an inkling that lex could bat from that side of the plate.
  4. Barnes freaking shoved a dude through a wall. Some days, I just gotta love this show. So Isabella wasn't working a long con, complete with lessons from the Cheryl Tunt School For Keeping a Man? And now she's dead? That's a shame. I was looking forward to the possibility of the most awkward threesome ever. I like how Barbara can pop in to remind us that she's crazy. ETA: While I'm thinking about it . . . "LOOK AT ME!! LOOK AT AND CHOKE ME!!!!!"
  5. With the coming of a third season, I wonder if the numbers will be trimmed down to a manageable number. I know that the team was never called "Young Justice," but it seemed to include damn near every kid hero DC Comics had to offer, in addition to Milestone characters Static and Rocket. I'm also hoping the original comic will be reprinted. Peter David and Todd Nauck had a lot of fun with "JLA Junior," and I'm still pissed that Wizard gave it a D-minus. For comparison purposes, Spider-Man: Chapter One got a D, and nobody ever talks about that miniseries.
  6. Season 3 is going to happen, according to Bleeding Cool. No concrete details, but I'm going to need to get Netflix soon if the show will be appearing there.
  7. Just submitted a forum for JBA. I wouldn't be against further thread topics.
  8. Press release for "The Very First Gentleman." I'm thinking that the guys are banking on Hillary Turd Sandwich winning, though I could totally see them breaking from real life and having Garrison win despite the results. And I'm still banking on a scene where Garrison finds Patrick Duffy in his shower. And Patrick Duffy would still be attached to Scuzzlebutt. ETA: Also "calling" Gerald and Liane becoming a couple by the start of next season.
  9. I'm thinking Kakashi has probably prepared for this day, and has bought every scrap of notes from Jirayah under an assumed name.
  10. Funny how life works out. Larry was on Bill Simmons' HBO show, Any Given Wednesday a few weeks ago . . . and now Bill got about a week's notice for his show getting canceled.
  11. This week: the counterattack begins, as the crew brings down Oars. There's also a bit where the guys try to form a giant robot, and Robin wants absolutely no part of it. Nami goes back to treasure-hunting, as Perona and her minions load up the Sunny. Oh, and there's another big guy now. I think he was revealed prior to the Sky Island arc, but I won't spoil here. Also, Lola snogs the hell out of Absalom, so given the implied rules set up in the last few episodes, they are legally married.
  12. In case you missed it, Jirayah went to the big lily pad in the sky. Or maybe he's in a place where he knows an invisibility jutsu, and the afterlife is wall-to-wall hot springs. Given that he was hard-headed, I can believe that he would never have considered Naruto to be The Prophesied Child That Will Change The World, even though he named the kid.
  13. I don't think Strange is Sorcerer Supreme yet. If there's another film, that will definitely fit under the title. He's got the look, the cloak, and the Eye of Agamentos (or whatever), but he doesn't have the title.
  14. When Doctor Strange was created, it was theorized that artist Steve Ditko did a lot of heavy shit for the psychedelic imagery. And wow, does this movie follow suit. If LSD and mushrooms were involved during the creative process, I will not be shocked. It's a fun Marvel movie, which puts it above DC's offerings, even as Wonder Woman takes aim . . . and notice how those guys took a World War II story and set it in World War I, probably because non-fans would think they'd be biting off Captain America: The First Avenger. How do you work around a bland villain? Simple . . . make his a disciple of a really big bad. Then my mind starts wandering . . . a nigh-destructive force for evil, a guy using artifacts he's making up uses on the fly, a canon villain that is an ally throughout the movie, then takes a turn for the dark side after credits . . . am I weird for thinking this is Marvel's Green Lantern? I mean, Doctor Strange is sooooooooo much better, but I think the parallel can be made. I think Marvel is just outright making fun of DC at this point. Why else would the kindasorta love interest's last name be "Palmer," like the Atom? Apparently, shit will be going down in Thor: Ragnarok. Sweet that Thor has found the magic of the bottomless beer glass I'm okay with the casting, though I completely understand the criticisms of Tilda Swinton being put in as the Ancient One. I like Wong being sarcastic. If there are more movies with the character, I'd like him to constantly bust Stephen's balls. Got a laugh out of the "drive responsibly" message at the end of the credits.
  15. Evan's getting married? Ew. That's a nastier prospect than Johnny making it legal with Hannah Teter.

In case you don't watch Saturday Night Live, three Cubs popped up twice tonight. They sang "Go Cubs Go" with Bill Murray. ETA: Cespedes opted out. Of course he did. Sports Illustrated projects him to go to the Phillies. Another NL East rival? Oy.

Padres made it in 1984 and 1998. Both times, they got steamrolled by uberteams from the American League.
  18. Anybody feel grimy seeing Nessa hold court during "The Verdict"? Now, I honestly doubt Theo would be starting in the NFL if not for the incident. There are only so many QB slots to be had, even what Jamie Foxx had at the beginning of Any Given Sunday. I feel that Theo should get on with his life, and I don't know if doing the Challenge circuit is a step in the right direction. That said, I'd take his side over Kassius. Is it a little messed-up that there are three black men on this show, and two of them are fathers? For the record, I wouldn't be surprised if Mike had a hookup with an "accident" that the woman wouldn't tell him about, because you want to get as far away from that shit as possible. There's an "Orlana" on this show. No, for real. She's as easy to spot as Steve on Road Rules: The Quest. Too many cast members for me. Mike is still the standout scumbag, though. I can believe he always gets what he wants. Look at the tattoos . . . he could have not gotten such ugly ink, but he had to do it.
  19. From 2003: I overthink Puck's depature. And before I retrieved the essay, I completely forgot about what he did in front of Ellen after Rachel got voted off. Might rank as high as Julie pissing on Coral's bed.
  20. Reminder that Toonami will be back tomorrow night, and there will be a special at the end of the block thanks to Daylight Savings. ETA: Children Who Chase Lost Voices is two-and-a-half hours long. Just sayin', you might need the DVR on that.

Thinking about it, Washington has been waiting for a World Series title since 1924. I'll have to do the math eventually, subtracting the time between Senators II and Nationals. I expect DC to be neck-and-neck with Cleveland.
  22. I found out about the Rumble Ponies because I wanted to see if Staten Island's team has been redubbed yet. Still waiting on that, and I'm certain the "winner" will not be warmly received.
  23. Enter the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Seriously.
  24. Chris Giarrusso did a Rogue sketch card that was pretty cute.
  25. Cut scene: "Thanks, Mick. Do I have to wear the parka?" "Nah. That doesn't work outside of the comics."
