How many more episodes are there? It's just that Flash and Arrow are wrapping up, and we haven't hit twenty with this series. Like the Kara/Mon/Imra thing, I can't hate either Kara or Lena. Kara was somewhat right that Lena would create the biggest thing that could kill her (ahead of red sunlight, magic, and embarrassment), but Lena didn't even think of making Kryptonite until Sam's situation. Once again, I'm hoping we don't get Lena-as-Lex-level-villain next season, but I'm not having much faith. It's harder to handwave Lena not knowing that Kara is Supergirl. She has to know. Or maybe she does know, and she's acting like she's pissed at Supergirl in front of her alter ego for . . . reasons. *sigh* Lena is going total dark side next season. And Alex will adopt Ruby, because it just feels that obvious. Still sucky that Papa J'onzz is on the mental decline. Bright side: Brainy being pissy in general. I can't find the exact source . . . in the "threeboot" continuity (don't ask), the twelfth-level intellect rated Earth a 5. He didn't mean the average human was Level 5. The entire planet was Level 5. Of course, he usually means well . .. thus bugging the DEO, which gave us Mon turning around and helping Kara. I'll take it. Also, we found out Chameleon (aka Chameleon Boy) was one of the Legionnaires in stasis. Anybody want to guess the others? The girl at the very end . . . .huh? Did I miss something??

Update: the lady I dated last Sunday? No spark for her, and she’s moving on. Now I have one semi-regular acquaintance via OKC, and the slow dread that I won’t get a second date with her either. As you can imagine, I’m glass-half-empty about this.

Wilmer Valderama in a parrot suit, referring to John as “Zazu.” I think that we get such “twists” not because it’s HBO, but that John tries to keep up with the increasingly bizarre landscape.
-
Anybody keeping up? Next week, the finale will run at 45 minutes. Memorial Day weekend, Toonami will run all six episodes. I’m assuming that the new stuff runs the following week.
-
FYI: Tonight’s episode is scheduled to run from 11:20-11:51.

Nothing like finding out Jacob deGrom lasted one inning after throwing 45 pitches . . . yet didn’t give up a run or a hit. Walk, walk, walk, strikeout, fielder’s choice, strikeout. Off-topic: is there really a huge difference between Coke and Pepsi?

Once again, New York’s affiliate had a Yankees’ game to air on Thursday. I’m okay with the notion in April and September, but now? While we’re coming to the finish line? I’m not saying what we got is the best. Like Marge Simpson once grumbled, “It’s an ending.” Seriously hoping Diaz bites it on Thursday. Hey, maybe he’ll die in the most humiliating manner some fans could think of: accidentally by Rene and/or Curtis. Why get an arrow to the neck? Diaz could trip on a T-Sphere and get in the way of a Wild Dog bullet. I’m okay with Acevedo, but Diaz is so one-note. He’s got two volumes: really soft and really loud. His power is basically stabbing people, which doesn’t inspire me with fear. And he’s killed at least two Quadrant heads. So if this was G.I. Joe, he would have been running Cobra inside five episodes? Oyyyyyyyyy. Next week will be brutal. Either the nanny will get killed, or she’ll reveal herself working for Diaz. Maybe she’s his mom. Quentin was a no-show this week; I’m betting the team will find a note when police HQ gets cleaned up. “Hey, Guys. Fuck this noise, I’m gonna travel through time with my daughter, where it’s so much safer. That’s Sara, the daughter I just remembered is still alive.” Aside from the sound wave bounce trick, has either Dinah or Laurel-2 done anything with the “canary cry” beyond blasting? At least Laurel-X had echolocation. ETA: Apparently, my iPad can learn names, because there’s a “Fuchs” on Archer this season. “Fuchs this noise”?? ?

To review: 1. Today is the finale for Mike Tyson Mysteries. Or at least the end of new episodes. Some of the humor is strained, but the absurdity makes up for it. 2. Next week, Robot Chicken returns at 11:30. 3. Also next week, the debut of Joe Pera Talks With You at midnight. I think I saw the late-late-late night origins, and it didn't impact me that much. Here's the teaser: And starting tomorrow night in the 1-1:30 block: Children's Hospital and NSTF:SD:SUV::. Hey, if you have to go live-action, those two are probably for the best.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
This week: Wild West stereotype Hol Horse teams with Boingo Mondatta, and it goes past this episode. So, yeah, Mondatta is peaking. After losing a dick-measuring contest with DIO, Hol Horse comes to Cairo (more on that below) and more or less abducts Mondatta. Turns out Oingo Zenydatta is still recovering from getting blown up and pummeled, so the little brother has free time. There's not much time with the Crusaders. Mostly, it's Mondatta telling Hol Horse to BELIEVE in the prophecies of Toth (yes!), and Hol Horse not buying into in completely. Then "fate" and the book compel him to kick a woman in the neck. Turns out she had a scorpion on her ready to sting, and she gives him a valuable necklace. We end with the French stereotype getting the drop on the American stereotype,, and Hol Horse -- going by the book -- shoving his fingers up Polnareff's nose. And that's where we end. Also, the credits with imagery from Toth. I'm not getting the airport scene. It's been established that the Crusaders are really close to DIO. Hol Horse and DIO have their scene at the beginning. Only thing I can think that makes sense is that Hol Horse flew to wherever Mondatta was, then came back. But I don't know if a flight was needed. Once again, I need a life. -
I watched SMH. I don't think there was any scenes where Peter mentioned "spider sense." Also, he got caught in costume by Ned and Aunt May, so maybe he doesn't have that. M'Baku didn't fade? So if T'Challa is gone, and Shuri got wiped out off-camera . . . M'Baku would be able to run Wakanda. Man, that's gotta be a mixed blessing.

S43.E20: Amy Schumer / Kacey Musgraves
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
"Good thing I kept the Ark of the Covenant!!" That (or something along those lines) was inspired. Aidy opened it. I'm guessing the other mothers may have passed on. Or they couldn't make it out to New York. Probably why NBC aired to Mother's Day episode from 2015 . . . so we can look side-by-side. Biggest surprise: Luke Null's mother realizing she had a son. Sorry . . . I read the AV Club reviews, and the running joke is that Luke does not pop up much, even for a featured player. He could have been the llama and gotten more screen time this season. That was Under-Underground Records. Same vibe, different approach. Ultersound baby dabbing for the win. And I like Amy. I hope the marriage works. I met her after she did standup, some time before her series on Comedy Central blew up. -
"I SEE YOU, AKBAR! I SEE YOU EMBARRASSING YOURSELF!!!" Man, Matt is gonna roast him during taping.

Apparently, Capsule Corp cam shrink down a garage. Or was that an airplane hangar? Kinda wish we knew more about Bulma and her family, as opposed to having shit dropped on us. "Hey, she's got a sister! Named Tights!!" I'm thinking that if you wreck GB's Time Ring, maybe his protection ends, and he vanishes from existence because Beerus killed him? Good move blowing up the time machine at the beginning. Bad move for Goku leaving the magic urn in there. Gotta love Zamasu giving our heroes grief, as Vegeta ignores him to bitch out Goku. ETA: Oh, and Vegeta blew up the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Sounds about right. Kinda wish Popo was the scary badass that Team Four Star makes him out to be in their abridgements.

Just saw a commercial . . . new episodes resume starting next Sunday at 11:30.

Heads up: the final episode from the original FLCL airs next week. It will run 45 minutes, and everything after gets bumped back fifteen minutes.
-
@possibilities . . . I think she wants to meet me, but things have been going on with her to put that off. At minimum, I'd like to be friends with her, but I still want to meet her with the prospect of being more than that. Apologies if that sounds garbled. Sometimes, it's hard to convey what's going on inside my head.
-
Looking back, I was probably being mean springing that off the Goku Black/Zamasu hug. I think a better comparison would be Elwood Blues meeting his brother Jake at the start of The Blues Brothers. Same deal with GB&Z . . . only instead of "We're on a mission from God," it would be "We're gods on a mission."
-
Texted the woman I saw last week, and everything seems good. As for the other woman . . . how can I tell her that I want to be friends with her at minimum? She's nice, sweet, and open to seeing me, but her health hasn't been too good. I don't see her as a "Plan B" or anything like that. It's just that I would want to meet her, date her, and see where things go. And I feel positive that we could have a connection. But I understand if she gets to a point where dating anybody would be problematic for her. I'd say that, but I'd wind up doing it in a way where I'd kick myself in the teeth.

One more: the movie with a small anime twist.

I think this might be the end of the line . . . not just for Coulson, but for AoS in general. From what I understand, it's still on the bubble, and Inhumans got kicked into the bottomless pit earlier. I know, several degrees of separation, and the same thing happened with Agent Carter, but if you want a sixth season, it doesn't look good. Then again, I have no idea how AoS would be able to mesh with the events in Infinity War (see below). Also, if Coulson dies, Daisy would be in charge. I know May prefers busting heads, but wouldn't she be a better fit? Talbot goes insane. Well, insaner. I like Pasdar's take over the Hulk version, and I preferred that movie to Incredible Hulk. Talbot is the most stubborn son of a bitch in the series . . . naturally, he'd get the ability to control gravity, and slowly go mad. Once again, it's a shame he probably was never ever considered to fight Thanos. It'd be a short fight, but Talbot would've had the best lines. Billions vs. Coulson? I vote billions. Clerk Gregg has done a lot with what was supposed to be a minor character in Iron Man. Phil got killed and brought back to life, and I'm not upset with that almost five years later. And he got that kiss from May, so you know he's doomed. And maybe May as well, especially if Daisy would be leader in a potential S6. If they both bite it, I'm thinking of one scene with them admiring a Tahitian sunset. Okay, as for my concerns about AoS and the Infinity War tie-ins. . .

Memes for folks who saw the movie.

Like I said, I heard it gets better. Also. Midoriya is not Asta. Isn’t that worth something? Curious about any rumors of anime on deck. Dragon Ball Z Kai is approaching the end of its run.

That was fun. Sad that there's one episode left. Is the series on the bubble in terms of renewal/cancellation? I know it doesn't get the love like Legends of Tomorrow (the CW's own batshit DC property show), but one more season would be nice. Basically, Jeremiah read The Killing Joke a lot, and he (seemingly) does to Alfred what the Joker did to Jim Gordon. Of course, no Alfreds are to be severely injured on this show. I hate myself for not seeing the final scene, as Jeremiah goes back for seconds, shooting Selina. Really hoping she lives, also hoping she can use her legs. I can't see her turning into a master hacker over the next few years. Oh, and I heard The Killing Joke DVD movie sucked donkeys. I don't think any comic story from Alan Moore can be adapted and not crumble. Kinda wish Jeremiah double-crossing the main bad guys had been slower to show reactions. Pan from left to right for reactions, ending with Butch thinking, "A rocket launcher?!? Son of a bitch, that's my move!!!" Once again, Oswald screws the pooch, albeit in an entertaining way. I get why Butch wants to be normal, but he's got his mind, and Tabitha seems okay with the look. Jim Gordon for MVP. First, he puts a massive emergency situation on pause, whipping out his dick to Edward. Really, I'm amazed they could measure with the prospect of Gotham City getting blown straight to hell. Of course, Ed falls for the "Hey, there's something I can't quite see, please please move closer." Then he returns to GCPD and introduces Jeremiah to he friend Dee. As in "Deez Nutz." Sadly, his minions pay the price after realizing that their leader wasn't the maniacal messaih they wanted. I'd feel bad for them getting burned alive . . . but they were basically easily lead sheep in discolored wool. I like the idea of Ra's teaming wit Jeremiah. Somewhat tickled that they're based off the Big Bads from the first two Nolan movies. Hey, maybe we get Bane next season. Maybe he won't sound like Latin America Dr. Evil.

Saw My Hero Academia tonight. I'll understand if any of you guys are skeptical, given the tropes are somewhat thick. Basically, Izuku Midoriya is a hapless fanboy who eats shit from people (one in particular) about wanting to apply for the Xavier Institute U.A. High School for aspiring superheroes. This being anime, the poor bastard is part of the one-fifth of the world's population that doesn't possess "quirks." Basically like Asta, only he has more company. And he's probably less yell-y. Anyway, he gets assaulted by a monster, and winds up being saved by All Might, the greatest great great great hero. From what I understand, the series slowly builds to something great. There's going to be a FLCL marathon on Memorial Day weekend, so I'll watch the next few episodes before requesting a forum. ETA: Here are the credits, soon to be shortened by Toonami.

"It's gonna happen, Morty! Rick and Morty for ninety-six years! Seventy episodes of mental abuse!! Am I gonna get that Mulan Szechaun sauce? I better get that fucking Mulan Szechaun sauce, goddammit! RICK AND MORTY FOREVER!!!!!!" The first new episode will end like that, or with that vibe.
