  1. Well, he did seem not to know Petite Polnareff was Polnareff. Right now, I'm thinking that was a lapse by Jotaro, caused by the euphoria of cracking DIO's head wide the fuck open with Star Platinum. I know, he's a vampire/whatever, but how did he remain coherent? 1. Like I said in the HxH forum, I think that hairstyle is standard for juvenile delinquents in anime. The kid is related to Jotaro, but in an offbeat way. And that gets topped in the following edition, Vento Aureo. 2. I've seen bits and pieces. Maybe because the setting isn't as epic? I think the posing is increased. I can't wait to find out. 3. Well, that depends on whether one would look at the words "cut" and "break," and decide, "Eh, lose enough." ETA for @lathspel . . . that's why I said that we'd get full credits. ". . . END OF THE WOOOORR-!!!!" "ZA WARUDO!!!" Also, I think the DiU guy's Stand is different from DIO's.
  2. Wow. So many stunned looks at Isaac's wipeout. And I can't blame them. Holy shit, he didn't make the Warped Wall. Looking at the reactions again. Akbar drops his mic. You know, on any other show, I'd say that was taped afterward . . . but I'd buy that being the first and only take. Of course, if the ninjas and crowd were prompted? I wouldn't be that shocked. Seriously, this was a bigger surprise than Jessie wiping out at the end of Stage One last year.
  3. Fan: Okay, seventh season! I am ready for anything. Show: Anything? Fan: ANYTHING!!!!!! Show: Cool. So, you remember the first season, with the part of Gargantua-1 having the blinking "PROBLEM" sign, and Rusty had to correct it? Fan: Yeaaaaaaaah . . . Show: Jonas Venture is in there, and he's still alive. Fan: [nether regions explode] Great to have the series back. There should be a rotation where we only get 3-4 months out of the year with no TVB and Rick and Morty. Those are the top two all-time Adult Swim shows, at least for me. Great to have the Triad gang back, and Dr. Orpheus electing to go astral, as Jefferson and Al carry his body. Nice twist that the place wasn't haunted-haunted . . . just a massive fuckup with Jonas Sr. And the gang wouldn't have figured it out if Billy didn't blurt out the name of the song from Sharkey's Machine to the old-timers. BTW, is it weird that we see a Burt Reynolds movie is referenced, and it wasn't by Archer? Also, does anybody want to figure out when older brother Dermont drops in? Hank's plot was also fun. Had to read the review on AV Club to grasp the irony of the cliffhanger: Hank is posing as a villain (the one with the hank of rope, natch) in order to get close to Sirena, and her father order him to kill Blue Morpho . . . the villain posing as a hero. Very clever. I heard this episode and the next was supposed to be a one-hour block. Should be fun to see how Monarch's dumb ass got in that chair. And while I'm sure Gary/Kano is alie, he probably isn't in good shape.
  4. First things first. I would've thought @Sandman87 would have made a comparison between the vampire hunters and the priests and Sister Mary from Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil. You are slipping, friend. Dang . . . six episodes of no David Hilter, then his story is done for the night before the credits. No commentary about how his methods might have horrified him. No, he rants in German, maps out an empire, and nobody puts two and two together. It's the soul patch, right? The hair below his lip. Der Fuhrer never had that, so there's no way the Subway Blimpie sandwich service guy could possibly be Adolf Hitler come back to life! The thought is preposterous!!! Hey, at least that wasn't as ridiculous as that episode of Timeless, where a young JFK winds up in 2018, and a girl figures out who he is, and basically reveals his future to him. Main story moves along nicely, and Herr Starr is still a trreasurre. Happy Fun Time Japan Soul Caper should be a lot of fun next week. Cassidy's plot is also interesting, though now we know Eccarius is an asshole. At least he isn't useless, unlike Hoover. How is he still alive? The guy is obviously a cockroach, but you'd think Starr would have killed him by now. The Action Catholics, (thanks, AV Club!) was a nice touch . . . priests and a nun working out on old-school gym equipment works on many levels. The only reason that they get killed is because Cassidy's tolerance for tranquilizers is absurdly high. Anybody else want a clip of Starr saying "Oompa Loompa" in a loop?
  5. And here's the How It Should Have Ended treatment!
  6. Flex Labreck! Tyler Yamauchi! And Isaac Caldiero, the Million Dollar Ninja! Okay, they don't call that, but it's a bit implied. You think Geoff Britten is stabbing a bearded voodoo doll right about now?
  7. “Must go faster! Because they Yielded us!” I’m really hoping those two followed the Guido template, and that they won’t be assholes the second time. Unless it’s towards a Big Brother team. A bunch of vets from there are currently seen wrecking The Challenge. That’s like making a dumpster fire even worse. ?
  8. Here ya go. ? . . and here’s the reference. I would’ve expected that to inspire an episode of Archer.
  9. Since we've been introduced to Allfather and Humperdoo, I might as well post this parody of Hostess ads from Wizard. I couldn't find a "cleaner" version.
  10. Watching the sixth season. When Brock got scanned by Think Tank, these aliases came up: Goldilocks, Jesus Tralfaz, Ape Drape, Captain Mullethead, Frankenmullet, Brock of Ages, ThinKukese, Brock Lobster, Brocodile, POP ‘n’ Fresh, Babe Ruthless, Brock Ness Monster, Agent Topanga Laurence, Hockey Hair. I need a life. ?
  11. Season 3 starts in two weeks. Here's a teaser from Toonami.
  12. Wow, Barry Khan barely had the one dimension. Also, he's not the worst Barry to be animated. Is there a rough timeline with the Buu Saga and DBS? I think the former happened a few years from the present. How could people forget Great Saiyaman, especially when all the Buu stuff was wiped from people's memories? Or maybe that wish would have also negated Gohan "coming out" prior to the WMAT. I really want females to kick ass on this anime, and for that to go beyond Chi Chi conking her husband. It's not like I want Videl to ki blast, but she was once a vigilante (of sorts) who kicked ass and lived up to the Satan bloodline. I will say that I'm pleasantly surprised she didn't try to rip Gohan's balls off upon seeing the idol kissing him. You know, if Dr. Slump were to be revived, I think Jaco could fit in well in Penguin Village.
  13. Watching DBS now. Awesome line from Jaco upon seeing Gohan: "Whoa, it's you! Goku's not-as-capable, uninspiring son!" So cold. Gohan's gonna need a Senzu bean for that.

@ebk57 goes to see a Mets game, they manage a shutout. If I do that, they'd lose when they give up 20 runs in the ninth inning, and the best part would be when I get knocked out by a line drive midway through the rally.
  15. Anybody out there? The third season started last night. Basically rats Phil and Mike having an adventure in animal-filled New York. Also, GrabBagVille fucking sucks.
  16. ChallengeMania is a podcast that features Derrick. They also sell merch . . . and some of it bears the images of Challengers. Get some stuff for the person in your life that follows the show, and you fucking hate him/her!!
  17. I found trailers for new anime on this week's Toonami Pre-Flight. Skip to 47:22 for "Diamond is Unbreakable." One character from "Stardust Crusaders" is in the cast, so you might regard that as a spoiler. I think it will air starting tonight. Oh, and the full credits might be run tonight and in next week's finale, because there's one tiny bit added on just for those episodes. ETA2: Penultimate episode means that the anime gets completely bananas on us, to the point where I hope next week's finale starts with a highlights montage set to an abbreviated version of "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas. Or maybe someone's done an AMV of that. There should be a place where no-talent geeks like me can request savier people for ideas to post on YouTube. Anyway . . . Star Platinum and The World face off. DIO takes the camp and creepy past 11, getting more unhinged that The World's time-freeze is slowly being thwarted by Star's speed. Slowly but surely, Jotaro gets the upper hand, even as he's pierced with knifes (some of which are blocked by magazines under Jotaro's jacket . . . because anime) and forces Star to stop his heart to prevent DIO from hearing a beat. Polnareff pops by to remind us that he's not dead, slicing DIO up . . . but not enough to kill him. It looks like Jotaro finally has DIO dead . . . but he unwittingly knocks his opponent back to where they started, and DIO takes in Oldjo's blood for the inevitable power boost. And now, I bring you to my first edit, with the DiU trailer. ETA: Wait, here we go.

I’ll bite. How much? And tickets plural? Who’s going with you? It’s funny . . . my supervisor at work has a Noah/Thor bobblehead from a few years back. She’s not going to tonight’s game.
  19. Before I turn in: did Zach & Brad homage Dr. Will & "Mike Boogie"? Seriously, what happens if Paulie & Whasherface return? Brad and Zach and their respective partners are going to vote him in every time. And when he opts to face someone else, they will mercilessly rank on him. That could get old fast.
  20. I'm fuzzy . . . why did Phantom Limb have Dragoon's head sewn to Red Mantle's body? I mean, the comedy from that moment on works but I forgot the reason why. I do remember Billy having done it, and going into the bag where Phantom Limb had carried him.
  21. Shit. In my head, I get School Days and Ghost Stories mixed up. I've heard of the former and what happened to the protagonist. I liked the DiU trailer. Kinda wish it could be explained why everyone is dressed goofy. Well, slightly more goofy than the other chapters. ETA: "You know what's missing in my life? A Hikaru no Go spoof!! Thanks, Pop Team Epic!!!!"
  22. Fear Factor had an episode pitting folks from Big Brother and Survivor against each other. One of the teams was Brenchel, and neither Brendon nor Rachel brought up TAR. I’d be pissed, but then Rachel had to say, “We’re like basically reality TV royalty! It is who we are!” Fuck off, you two. Just . . . fuck the hell off.
  23. Saw Toonami’s “Pre-Flight.” Well, I jumped around. They debuted new trailers for Attack on Titan and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. I’m guessing those trailers will air tomorrow night. Also, Toonami will be starting at 10 p.m. with those two series, at least for August 18 & 25. In addition, the rerun FLCL ends on the 18th, so that slot will be filled by another AoT episode on August 25. ETA for @Sandman87 . . . I wasn’t paying attention. “Nice Boat”? And is Ghost Stories the anime where the cast said “fuck it” and went goofy?
  24. AV Club goes over ten episodes from the series.
