Biggest concern for me: that Daniel Gil needs his hair dry to live, and he perishes in the first underwater obstacle ever done.

Well, Rusty and Monarch can’t fight each other yet, but they can send in their stand-ins. Their sad, sad, sad stand-ins. Seriously, Billy and Pete are supposed to be scientists like Rusty, right? So why do they dress up? Best answer I have is that Billy really insists on that. Billy’s mom beat the shit out of St. Cloud. That was funny. I know, she was probably an action heroine in her own right, and Col. Gentleman softened the snoot up, but damn, that’s gotta be a deflation. And I felt bad for Monarch and Gary trying to teach him Arching 101. Is this the price Malcolm has to pay for killing Guild members and getting away with it? I’m good with S464 and his plot. I think he was the mole, but Shelia made a good case to go double agent. And then Dr. Z came in with the Clueless daydream. Good times.

I don’t drink pumpkin spice lattes. I just never got into coffee, so I don’t have any opinion of PSL, let alone a strong one. Some people shouldn’t be able to vote, but I’m now thinking that’s a small chunk of the disenfranchised. And, of course, Florida’s actions fuck things up for the rest of the nation. I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a figurative mountain of quirky news bits that makes the state look like Asshole Central. ETA: I meant a mountain at the LWT offices. Or maybe a room full of clips, where interns get less than a foot inside, pull out three tapes, and that would be enough for four episodes.

Question: how do you guys feel about Haruko in general? I mean, I get that she can be too obsessive and selfish, but she's lot of fun to watch, whether she's hitting a boy with her Vespa, turning a class into a cult, or devouring her main rival. And Kari Wahlgren always sounds like she's having a blast voicing her. "MAMA LIKE!!!!!" Oh, and I want to call the heavier girl in Alternative Sunny. Like the Thousand Sunny of One Piece, she seems fueled mostly with cola. Would that be too mean?

Personal Encounters With Doctor Who: "It's Bigger On The Inside!"
Lantern7 replied to Lantern7's topic in Doctor Who
David, Matt and Alex will be coming to New York Comic Con. On that Friday night, they'll be doing a panel at Hammerstein Ballroom. Advance tickets for that are being sold . . . I don't now how much I'd want to spend, though. On that note, the trio will be autographing and doing photo ops as well. As much as I'd like to meet one of them (or all three), I would be spending enough money as it is. Here are the autograph rates for Alex, David and Matt. They will be multiple signings . . . I think the rates are the same no matter when. And here are the general Photo Op rates. It's not too messed up that the fees would deter me, right? A lot of my money is dedicated to sketches. ETA: How close did I get to Capaldi last year? Well, I don't think being in the audience at the Theater in MSG was too bad. And I wrote this article about it. -

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Opening credits . . . very first and last seconds? With no lyrics? That's cold, Toonami. Okay, apparently Josuke and his hulking nephew had a few more words with Angelo. He manages to blurt out that some jerk can bestow Stands to others, and someone as evil as him could get great power. Then he steps on Josuke's Berserk Button, and Josuke reforms Angelo Rock into something more goofy-looking. Angelo is still trapped in a neverending death, so that's still good. Yadda yadda yadda, Jotaro does research and realizes that Enyaba may have given DIO the power of The World . . . which makes her dying like a punk bitch to Steely Dan of Steel all the more sadder. Also, he meets Tomako, and she mistakes him for Joseph. After the misunderstanding is cleared up, she looks like she wants to climb the Joestar family tree again. Meanwhile, Josuke and Koichi run afoul of [checking Jojo Wikia] Okuyasu Nijimura. In another world, they'd probably be best buddies from the start based on their goofy-ass uniforms. "Golden hearts? Nah, son . . . dollar and yen signs are the way, baby!" His Stand is The Hand (generic enough not to mess with legal matters), which can eliminate space, forcing it to fill the void. In the end, Josuke outsmarts Okuyasu, and he meets the other guy. With the bow and arrow. Who had shot Koichi in the neck. Oh, and Okyyasu slammed a gate on his neck for several minutes. Basically, not the little guy's week. -
Maybe “Pan” as in “Pan Flute,” since Piccolo is kindasorta her godfather? That occurred to me recently. This week: Goku’s zest for fighting might get entire universes destroyed. Also: furry fighters!!

RW in the Media: Somehow the Show is Almost Relevant

Heads up . . . Jamie will be at New York Comic Con for a panel on The Gifted. I don’t think she’ll be doing anything beyond appearing there. -
While I can't say that I agree, I did not think of looking at it like that. Still, though, I hate that CT might go out because Veronica quarter-assed a mission. Granted, I like him, and she hasn't set me off so bad recently, so I'm all for their return. All the shit I say about Shane here? At least doubled with the Verantula in her prime. I'd settle for a situation where RH'd teams have to fight to get back. The team getting the Double Cross would provide the seeds. #4 battles #5, winner of that meets #3, and so on. Seriously, Natalie & Pauie could remain in the game after losing THREE Armageddons. I dunno . . . it's like some of the twists are awesome on paper, but they turn to shit immediately. The voting process was supposed to eliminate burn votes, but that's all they're doing now. Why didn't Tananas get a single vote? Cowardice in meeting such a stacked pair. Also, who wants to hear Johnny bitch about getting screwed, or Tony whine about providing for his kids?

@Morrigan2575 . . . yes, indeedy. I think the panels from Dreamland and Danger Island took place there.
-
So . . . anybody got favorite characters from Progressive?
-
Bumping up because Alternative kicks off this Saturday. Also, I still have the subbed episode on the DVR from April Fool’s Day.
-
New York Comic Con announced its panel schedule, and this will take place on the final day: Of course it would have "1999" tagged on it. Needless to say, I'll try to make this.

That reminds me . . . did anybody catch Tyler & Korey on Fear Factor several weeks ago? I got upset they didn't mention TAR, and I posted that on a Facebook fan group . . . and then Tyler popped up, letting me know they did talk about the show, but Fear Factor didn't use any of that footage. I believe him on that.

S13.E01: The Gang Makes Paddy's Great Again
Lantern7 replied to Ray Adverb's topic in It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
I think this is going to be one of those stories where we get more from it the less we know. It's not that I didn't like Mindy Cindy. It's just . . . who in their right mind would work with these people? I mean, she's probably more savvy than The Gang even with Dennis, but getting them to do stuff is like herding cats . . . emotionally, mentally, socially stunted cats. If we end up with a finale where Mindy Cindy returns with her version of the Legion of Doom (short list: Waitress, Lawyer, Cricket, at least two McPoyles) to avenge herself, it might be less entertaining than whatever the show does this season. Which I'm guessing was the whole point. It was a funny episode. "Fuck" got used twice. You just can't really delve into things for deeper meaning. Has the series received Emmys in any category? Because I think one should be awarded to the team that made "Dennis." Creepy. As. Fuck. Of course Mac would deposit loads into it. Of course the Waitress would fuck it and break up with Charlie, who was clearly not into the relationship (another ironic jest). I'm guessing that the mouth and butt weren't the only "perfect" things about "Dennis." The other guys getting hammered and fucking it? Including Dennis' father? Hey, why not?!? Seriously, Mindy Cindy clearly believed in the Gang. It's just . . . they're the Gang. Even if Dennis hadn't returned, the sex doll would've come to life anyway, and she'd still quit. That's how fucked up they are. But I liked the episode. I just shouldn't think too hard about it. -
“Survivor 37: Maybe This Will Be The Year Probst Gets Punched!”
-
Let the bitching commence! Not like the BBC would air it at 2 a.m. GMT to accommodate American audiences.
-
And the suck keeps on coming. Am I too old or too naive to expect fair play? Because the teams would rather shut up than put up, everyone gets votes except for Johnny & Tony, probably because listening to Johnny whine about being played and Tony bitching about his two kids would be bothersome. Three teams share the "lead," so Zach & Amanda -- whose vote counted twice and who will be getting an advantage in the next mission -- gets to pick who goes into Armageddon. And because only they voted for Jozea & Da'vonne, those two can pick anybody to face. They pick Kayleigh & Kam, and that leads to an Armageddon similar to the one where Eric quit on Camila. That was more fun, because neither team can solve the puzzle, and Kalyleigh and Da'vonne slowly freeze to death, with only TJ's snotty attitude keeping them warm. K&K win, Kam keeps the "Killer Kam" shit to a minimum because her partner is basically an icicle, and Jozea is shown to crap the bed yet again. Moving on to the Redemption Ceremony: there has to be skill involved. There has to be. If you're Veronica, why would you work out when your fate is decided by the stupid Double Cross? CT trying to apologize to her can only be so much motivation. In the end, four teams screw up, and Jozea & Da'vonne get to stay in the game no matter what . . . for doing nothing. I swear, if CT had actually pulled the damn Double Cross, I'd have the same problem. Seriously, two idiots from Big Brother get to decide which teams leave for good . . . which is how the last fucking Redemption battle played out. Jozea might as well be Paulie, only less mouthy and with more sucking. Seriously, has there ever been a Challenge where CT was eliminated midway through? It's a weird thought. Also, he got into this situation because Veronica basically Bethed the last mission. That's not as unfair as the other stuff, but it shows how fucked up this season has been. Yes, he should've pulled the Cross he was going for, but his situation still sucks, and I feel a smidge bad for Veronica. In other news, horrible people keep acting horribly, and Shane still needs to be smacked in the face. Also: Paulie & Natalie could be pulled into the Armageddon, lose for the THIRD time, and still be in the game. Seriously, fuck Big Brother. I have a tolerance for AYTO, but the Hamsters have to go away for good.

My definition of a "bloodbath" was the season of Sasuke where 98 out of one hundred competitors failed on Stage One. Yes, that actually happened. And the two that did advance (including the "three percent body fat" firefighter) wiped out on Salmon Ladder, nowhere near the end of Stage Two. Also: When you complete Stage One and get relegated to the corner box, can that be taken as a "fuck you"? I would.

There was an episode description for next week.

So . . . Ooo survives a war and the coming of Golb, and everybody lives . . . well, they live. I lost track of the epilogues as the final song played. I should check the DVR again. I do remember Sweet P graduating . . . and I'm assuming that was him lumbering around BMO"s mountain. He didn't turn back into The Lich? Good for him. Nice framing sequence, with Shermy and Beth being the protagonists of Future Ooo. Beth is also the Pup Princess . . . and I think there were a lot of dogs in the opening credits, so I'm thinking Jake's descendants helped shape Ooo. I forget . . . did Simon live? Also funny that Gunther was an evil alien (which had been established), he wished on the Ice King crown . . . and he basically became Ice King. Hey, why not? I'm glad I jumped on board this series. I probably gotten more if I was there from the beginning, and if Cartoon Network had aired it on a regular basis.

Damn . . . thirty ninjas made it to the finale next week. So why does it feel like a bummer of a Stage One? I think because a lot of "names" went out early, mostly on Double Dipper. I don't consider that to be a "lay-up" obstacle, but it wasn't new. Jessie's absence also sucked. I mean, it's great she's working on a "Worlds of DC" movie that we know won't suck outright (we're crossing our fingers for Aquaman and Shazam!), but I wanted to see if she could complete Stage One. Sadly, all of the women went out, and a few did that on the first obstacle. Very disappointing. At least next week looks to be a blast, even if I'm doubting anyone makes it to Stage Four. And while I get the eye rolls with Jake Murray's shenanigans, I'm happy he's back in top form. 1. I'm thinking that bugs basically taste like anything else if you cook them enough. I still wouldn't get 'em, because I'm a wuss. I get that Bug Ninja wouldn't be irresponsible enough to leave the stingers on the scorpions, but you have to imagining coming out of the commercial break. "I see you, Matt! I see you going to the E/R!!!!" 2. Ryan always had the beard, right? It looks better on him that Brent's.
