  1. Perhaps he would have been better off with Nurie Rodrigues since it was unlikely she would ever have a thought of her own. I know he said Jill tried to get the two of them together, but he wasn't interested.
  2. that's how I see it too. She said that she knew Kim was dating Ken because they were hanging out together all the time. She knows more than she lets on because there is no point in arguing with Kim. She may even suspect that Kim cheated on Barry with Ken.
  3. I used to root for Ethan and Olivia to find middle ground somewhere, but it's clear that isn't going to happen. Ethan is so petulant now and he has said and done so many hurtful things to Olivia that she is just done. One thing that stood out to me was that when they were in Tampa, he never got a job. He alternately sat on the couch feeling sorry for himself and watching TV with Moriah or running back to Cairo to hide with his cars. Once he got what he wanted and they moved to Minnesota, then he got a job and at least was around some in the beginning. But then he went right back to his old habits. I'm glad they ended things before there was a child involved.
  4. The dogs and the kids are far more loyal than Kody ever was. I hope she's living her best life. I hope all three OGs are. And the 13 kids too.
  5. That banana and mayo sandwich made me gag. That was just nasty. I'll try a lot of things, but I would have taken a hard pass on that. Boy was Whitney pissed when Glenn decided to go ahead and get the tattoo. I think she was so mad because Glenn did it for Angie and not for her. I have believed from the start that Whitney is not as pleased with Angie coming into Glenn's life as she is trying to portray. There is just a lot of passive aggressive and sometimes downright aggressive behavior from Whitney going on. I do wish all of them had left Glenn alone about the tattoo. If he doesn't want one, that should be respected. not this dumb peer pressure. I hope Glenn gets to see the printing machine he talked about when he goes to Switzerland. Whitney was so snotty about that. I know nothing about printing, but I would love to learn about something like that from someone who knows what they are talking about. And not someone who says Alabamer all the time. And speaking of Alabama, Whitney has been constantly going on about the family like they are a bunch of hicks, but they demonstrate more class than she ever has. And they manage to dress appropriately for things. I don't need to know who wears underwear and who doesn't though. I was struck by Whitney saying the Glenn raised two daughters who don't wear underwear. No, he didn't and I wish she would stop pushing this dad and grandpa stuff. Angie has made it clear that she is happy to have Glenn in her life, but that he is only a father by biology, not the Dad who raised her. She calls him Glenn for a reason.
  6. The thing that really irritates me about Micah's behavior is that Moriah told him a couple episodes ago that Olivia didn't steal her music, that Moriah panicked and it was somehow all Olivia's fault because reasons. So Micah purposely repeated a lie because he wants to take swipes at Olivia. The person who took him in when his parents threw him out while he was still a minor. Olivia is well rid of these people. Barry is just as manipulative as Kim in his own way. He told Ethan that the only thing missing when they went to see Micah in California was Ethan. That was such a big guilt trip and drove an even bigger wedge between Ethan and Olivia because now mean ole Olivia wouldn't let him go to California. Whatever Ethan and Barry. Kim "upping her communication game" was disgusting. It was just another reason to talk about her dating to her kids who don't need to hear all this. I got the sense Amber knew more than she was letting on, but that she figured there was no point in confronting Kim. Kim is so selfish. She sees her kids are hurt, but her happiness is all that matters. I'm trying to figure out how Ethan was going to square staying married to Olivia when he didn't want children with her or children who thought like her or whatever. Is he going to get a sister wife to have and raise the kids he claims he wants? That's the crossover no one asked for. Also, him saying he's a bad communicator doesn't make his poor communication OK. And nothing makes the constant lying OK. I thought the Bible was pretty clear on that sort of thing. As much as she irritates me, Moriah is a mess. Sadly, it is common in fundie families to blame the "rebellious" child for everything that goes wrong in the family. But of course Moriah is lucky because she can shift the blame onto Olivia, so it's all good. Girl needs some serious therapy or things are not going to end well for her. I think they are all running back home hoping that they will feel better because the adult world was too hard. But they will soon find that that won't work for long.
  7. In last week's episode Kody stated that Maddie never calls him and he just can't understand why. Maybe it's COVID. Janelle then stated that Maddie has put him at arm's length because of his behavior and she doesn't want her children to be exposed to that. Kody then said something that came across as his children being little more than an obligation to him at this point. And yet he is totally confused as to why they aren't reaching out to him.
  8. That could very well be a swimsuit under the sheer coverup. Some of us like a little more coverage on swimsuits and there are a lot of cute options out there now. It looks like a top with more coverage and possibly a swim skirt on the bottom. I wouldn't wear it (because two piece swimsuits are not my friend), but if she wants to experiment, good for her. I doubt she even got an adolescence growing up in the cult, so she is living it now. Yes, it's sometimes a bad look, but it happens with ex cult members.
  9. Going back a few pages to the old blog post from JRod that someone linked, I was amused by her stating that Kelly Bates looked radiant at Erin's wedding while posting a picture of Kelly with a look on her face like she wanted to cut a bitch. Those fangirling pics of Josh and Bill Gothard Jill included in her post did not age well. I think they didn't go on the cruise because they couldn't afford all the costs around it. It's a long way from Ohio to south Florida. They couldn't even crash at the Kellers because they would still have had a long drive ahead of them to get to the port. Then they have to pay to park the car. Food and lodging was covered on the cruise, but getting there and back home could have really added up. I was rolling my eyes about the classy dinner. Dave sure looked classy in his beat up jacket and grimy shoes. And Jill looked a mess as usual. I guess it was Janessa's week, so she got to go and eat whatever crumbs Dave missed. These two are disgusting. And why was Jill nattering about Plexus and insulting her downlines on her radio broadcast? Perhaps she should take a lesson from Meri Brown who insulted Maddie over not working hard enough selling Lulacrap, and Maddie cut her off. Jill may be hanging on by a thread with Heidi's mom, and this may get her cut off completely. Cue lots of vague posts from Jill about spiritual warfare and difficult relationships.
  10. Don't ask me why, but I was thinking about the appetizer thing. Why did she say he would only get one while she scarfed down the rest. I have shared appetizers plenty of times and no one ever does that no matter how hungry they are or how much they like the particular appetizer. It's just impolite. It's not cute that she has so little self-control or social graces.
  11. Well she did say she was going to be the bitchiest Christian, so mission accomplished I guess. I don't understand why Olivia wants to see Ethan's younger sisters. She probably hadn't seen them in a while and given everything that was going on with the family, it was extremely unlikely Barry and Kim would have gone along with it. Olivia needs to understand who her friends are and who they aren't. A 24 year old can care about young in law siblings, but the are not friends. It's OK to just move on from them. I wish she had been more direct with Ethan about Micah. Rather than using therapy terms that he could feign ignorance of and dismiss, she should have just stated that Micah treats her like garbage and she will not tolerate that in her own home. Because that is the truth. I don't understand what Micah's issue is with her because his response just seems so disproportionate. I have no idea what Ethan was thinking wanting him to stay with them when Micah made it clear he wants no relationship with Olivia. If that's what he wants, he can't then expect a free crash space and to eat food she probably paid for. What is with the Plaths and lying? Ethan flat out lied to Olivia and this isn't the first time. Moriah actually admitted that she lied about the music situation, but made some weird claim that Olivia made her do it. And Kim is just so deceitful. Not very Christian of any of them.
  12. I really hope Glenn wanted to go to Switzerland and it wasn't just the producers' pick. I think it could be quite enjoyable. I was under the impression they were going either in spring or early summer during filming, not in the middle of winter. Babs died in December, and this was around May when they were talking about the trip. Also, why does Whit imply that they have to do everything at the last minute. You know the producers have everything arranged and all they have to do is show up. At least Hunter understood the assignment and made points to try to convince Glenn to choose Denmark. Whit's presentation was ridiculous and no one could even figure out what country she was on about. All she did was put Lennie at risk of a serious back injury and scream a lot. Why does she continue to do things like this? I was also disgusted when she acted so rude when Glenn said he wanted to see the printing press. She admits that being a printer was his life's work but acts angry that he wants to see something that is an important part of printing history. I find her constant insistence that she has to find someone or she will die alone annoying. I am a lot older than her and I don't have a significant other. I'm fine with that because I have a lot of other things going on and dating is miserable. I can't imagine having to deal with creepy fetish guys like she does. On that I agree with her. However, if she were a more pleasant person, she would have friends and maybe if she had hobbies she would meet someone that way. I have a friend who met her husband through a hobby group. They were friends for several years before they ever got into a relationship and they have been going strong for many years.
  13. Regarding who is going on the cruise with Jill. I thought her upline posted that Jill won the cruise herself for getting however many points she was supposed to get and then getting picked in the drawing. So, she will not be going as someone else's buddy, she gets to go with a guest of her choosing. So DBD will be hitting the buffet as much as he can while she does whatever stuff the huns do. And the kids will be fending for themselves at home.
  14. I still think Tozer sounds like that guy in high school who knew where to get the good weed. I was under the impression that Ben and his religious obsession gets to name the boys. That's why we have Spurgeon. It's possible Jessa put her foot down with Henry or he would be named Wilberforce right now.
  15. Lydia Grace is no better than Moriah with her butting in. It appeared that Olivia was aware of that because she gave very short answers to Lydia's questions and tried not to give her any more fuel to criticize her marriage. I don't think Ethan and Olivia should stay together, but that needs to be their decision, not siblings on either side. Barry's sandwich of sadness was something else. Maybe it was too much work for him to heat up whatever Lydia left for him before she went to Christmas at Kim's. And I am sure the only reason Kim is doing Christmas now is to get one up on Barry. She is so transparent. Ethan wants to homeschool. Someone who can't decipher a menu without pictures to help him along has no business trying to educate someone else. He actually means he wants his wife to homeschool to his specifications. Has he met Olivia? She is not going to do that. She may homeschool, but she won't parrot his beliefs. Move on Olivia before the birth control fails. At least she understands that they have no business having a kid right now with their issues.
  16. I am tired of adults whining about their birthdays. This goes for Whitney and Todd and several people I know in RL who celebrate their birthday month and expect the world to stop for them. I would have been happier sitting on the couch watching my favorite movie than freezing to death in that pool with Whitney thinking she's a great volleyball star now. I'm embarrassed for her with this constant demand that people either go out with her or fix her up with someone. That behavior is really off-putting. I can see her accosting random people in the grocery store asking if they have a guy for her. It's just weird. Also, that one guy made it very clear he is not into her, so I hope she doesn't head off to Chicago at the end of the season telling everyone that he's the one. And she needs to leave Glenn alone and let him grieve in his own way. Grief has no timetable - she can't just decide he has to cheer up now.
  17. I love how the editors hate Robyn at this point. When all the parents were polled about the family reunion idea even Meri who knows several people in the family hate her said she was up for it. Then cut to Robyn saying it wouldn't be safe or whatever. It was so obvious that she and Kody are the root of all the problems. I wasn't paying very close attention, but I thought the time Janelle and Christine were talking at the rental was in late May or early June. I thought Easter was at Christine's house and only Janelle was there with Christine's kids. That would make the timeline make more sense especially since the Easter stuff looked like it was filmed by the family rather than the crew. Regarding calling Easter Resurrection Sunday, this is something a lot of conservative Evangelicals are doing now as well. Calling it Easter is too pagan though a lot of them color eggs and such anyway. Kody logic makes my head hurt. Christine is separating him from his family. Garrison invites him to a gathering at his house and Kody behaves like a toddler. If he was so distraught over losing his family, he would go anywhere to see them. Also, I am tired of hearing that they need to resolve things before they can get together. I've said this before, but why couldn't Ysabel impose the same conditions? Why did she have to play happy family with the same jerk who told her to go across the country by herself to get much needed surgery? I have some suspicions that Kody and Robyn were never that supportive of Leon even before their transition. I think they saw Leon's and Audrey's wedding as a ratings grabber and also even Kody realized that if he said unsupportive things there would be backlash. I always got the sense that Leon and Audrey were pretty lukewarm when they were looking at wedding venues with Kody. Maybe the pandemic helped them to decide they weren't going to fake it anymore. Good for them if that is the case.
  18. I thought Kelly's dress, hair and makeup looked great. I'm glad someone finally convinced her that all those ruffles she loved to wear were doing her no favors. she definitely looks better in something fitted. I also give her a pass on the shoes because at this point in my life, heels are out. I don't need to be in pain just to measure up to someone else's standards. I would have stuck with a neutral color myself because matching colors is dicey, but I definitely would have worn shoes I could stand around all day in.
  19. Kim loves to claim that she is setting her kids up for a great future. She claimed that Moriah had the foundation to be a professional singer, several of the girls can apparently be professional dancers based on her crappy ballet lessons, and Ethan can be a mechanic when he can't read a menu as an adult. She and Barry have completely failed those kids.
  20. I just want to say that referring to him as her new dad makes me uncomfortable. I genuinely hope Christine is not trying to force that narrative on Truley and lets her decide how close she wants to be to David on her own.
  21. Actually, it was Ysabel and she was way too old to be doing that. Not to mention that this was before her surgery and she could have injured herself worse in addition to the destruction of the ornaments and the tree. That was just such a bizarre thing to do. I swear Truley is the most mature of the bunch including her mother.
  22. Wow, for a guy who claims printing is his calling from God that retreat announcement is a hot mess. I always thought that when you were doing something for God you should give it your best. The frightening thought is that this is the best he can do. And I'll bet the prize for the first registrant is some pink drink crap and an offer from Jill to help them discover a new business "opportunity". My question is how did Timbits cope with the woman in front of him in the family photo who is showing a lot of shoulder and leg? He has famously said he is "curt" with women because he feels all of them are tempting him into sin. Has he gotten over himself, or was he quietly seething and making sure Heidi knows that she is never to dress like that? I love that Jill has made it so transparent that she is big mad that she wasn't there. The text she claimed she received from Philip was something else. I cut Jill no slack on using the R word. You have to be living in a cave to not know that word is about as offensive as the N word. I'm glad if her mom is at least stabilizing, but referring to her leg that way is not appropriate at all. Jill creating a magazine is the gift that keeps on giving. I wonder how long she will be able to keep it up.
  23. Hilaria is still recovering.
  24. I see they managed to find hate chicken in LA. And shoes a size too big are never comfortable.
  25. Whenever this stuff happened, it's very sad. But immature parents will operate this way. My uncle and his second wife had four kids and the one girl in the group was constantly getting her room trashed by her brothers. My uncle just blew it off. She now lives in Japan and has pretty much kept him at arm's length. I do agree that Christine has always been immature and lets things go that she should have stopped. I saw the scene where Meri pulled the older kids together and told them to quit picking on the younger kids including Robyn's. Christine complained that it wasn't the right time, but who knows when she though the right time was. I also didn't think Meri was the least bit out of line in that particular scene, she was firm, but not yelling. And she tried to handle it more privately, but the cameras followed.
