I’m not a fan of David but that was pretty impressive how he never budged an inch during the challenge. I had to laugh at the shot of him checking his nails on one hand while holding the rope with the other. (But of course I was rooting for Joe to win.). Other than that it was a pretty dull, drawn out episode. Glad Mitch wasn’t voted out.

What a fun leg! From spending the night in a tent in the desert to the pit stop at the ultra modern museum everything was fun to see. Sorry to see Pops and his amazing arms go but glad he got to cross off some bucket list items. Yeah, I was wondering this too. Did the camera people also jump? Or does the skydive company include videos for patrons?

This epi is dragging. So much filler.

Plus in a previous scene she confessed that Henry was angry at her for not being pregnant yet. Approaching him humbly would make him more amenable to any request from her.
-
Plus she probably doesn’t shop for groceries anyway and has no clue how much eggs cost. FTR eggs are down 50c here. Still too high but it’s a start.

Kohls is still the best place to go for household goods, especially since BB&B is no longer a brick & mortar option.

But Whoopi will be there so… yeah. I’m going to have to tape it and watch sometime. I have a house full of babies (and their parents) for a few more days.

Poor Paula. Making a child deliver a baby that might injure her enough to never be able to carry child when she’s more mature is cruel. I’m sorry Phyllis wasn’t stronger with the VBAC birth. I understand her fears but she was never one to freeze in fear. That seems so out of character. She normally would have taken charge and made the mom feel safe. I was thinking how lovely it would have been for Collette to grow up (for a few years) with so many doting aunties. I was brought up Catholic and married a Presbyterian just 10 years later than this. We even married in a Catholic Church by a priest. No one cared. I had one child baptized a Catholic and the other a Presbyterian. Yes, the choppy scenes were off putting.

They’d need staff to process non office visits. I know already you can wait an hour or more on the phone. I don’t know if online requests are affected.

The man they were talking about who was sent to El Salvador? Vance tried to justify this by pointing out he had outstanding traffic violations. Traffic violations. Thus he was a criminal and subject to deportation to a foreign prison. Without due process. Without a mechanism for bringing him back. Traffic violations.

I think the other teams were well aware of how consistent Scott and Lori were and didn’t need a reminder. It was a no brainer which teams needed to be slowed down.

Like Water For Chocolate - Anticipation
Haleth replied to BetterButter's topic in Like Water For Chocolate
Good. Maybe she’ll kick Pedro to the curb. (Assuming he isn’t dead.) -
Panic?

The pearl clutching by Scott and Lori about the U-turn was pissing me off. “They’re not my friends.” That’s right, Lori, they are competitors, not friends. I imagine they were those parents if any of their kids played sports and anyone was mean to their kid. Get a grip, Jonathan. It was nice to see a big shake up with different teams coming in at the top. The beach was gorgeous. The coral, the surfers, the dancers… what fun!

I missed the show because of tornadoes but can’t find enough interest to watch on P+. I don’t know who Cassidy Charity is so see you next week!

S37.E05: It’s Not Personal, It’s Business LIVE CHAT THREAD

And the severe weather continues so no TAR for me tonight. There was a tornado a few miles south and east of us. -
Second week in a row the show was interrupted for bad weather. Sigh.

Oh, dear God, she trots out the “my father” after months of cheering on the man who trashed his memory. Well boo fucking hoo, Meggie. Welcome to the club of all of us who have known for decades that he’s a liar.

She was still correct in that some issues require an in person visit to the SSA office and with the threat of closures it will create hardships for people who are unable to travel distances. (Although I saw that the administration is backtracking on closures?) Still, staff cuts will create long wait times for help.

TBS is also in the delightful The Artful Dodger which I am thrilled is filming a second season. I never watched The Tudors because I thought JRD was so horribly miscast.

Hey, Scorp! Glad you found this one. With the several years in between seasons it’s not surprising that some actors would not be available, however the long wait made it hard (for me) to remember anyone except the brilliant Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis, and of course adorable Thomas Brodie Sangster. Incidentally the books this is based on are fabulous, superb writing.

I’ve started (way too late ugh) to FF through the Dalton scenes. I’ve had more than enough of Sheridan’s rape fantasies. And of course Alex is submitted to more deadly dilemmas. Enough with Sheridan’s misogyny fantasies. Bored with the Teanna story (and more misogyny) but at least she’s finally rid of the priest. I’m sorry the older man died. Why am I watching this? Oh yeah, because of Helen and Harrison. They are just so utterly charming together it almost makes up for the fast forwarding I must do.

I burst out laughing at that. Perfect.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
Haleth replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
Ugh. It’s a pet peeve of mine when people use “drug” as the past tense of drag. Nope. -
Funny talking about international travel, just a little while ago a friend was saying her flight to Montreal has been cancelled a couple times because there isn’t enough airline traffic. I’d heard that before that the population of Canada would take over the House, in effect making the US another province. 👌
