  1. When Miss Higgins was first introduced she was so stern and inflexible. Her character has grown and changed so much since then. Now she is a beaming grandma with the warmest smile. She's one of my fav characters, especially when she and Phyllis are together. My heart broke for her when she had so little time with her son when they clearly came to adore each other quickly. First and last breath.
  2. I love how everyone in his circle, even Osip, helped cover up Alexander's escape to the hospital. This was my favorite thing about the story - how a family was created around him when he thought he had lost everything. It's appropriate they were watching IAWL, Alexander is George Bailey.
  3. I agree. I cried my eyes out too. The reunions and the photos at the end? Pass the Kleenex! Very well done. (And I could finally tell who was who and married to who.)
  4. This from the woman who would help her own kid cover up a murder. My son works at UCLA. He said the protesters are gone. They either got arrested or went home.
  5. I would be interested to know how long Angie and Danny had to wait for their crew. 10 minutes? Half an hour? We know 2 or 3 other teams passed them while they waited but it could have all happened in a short time. I still think they could have made up time to finish ahead of Rod and Leticia is they hadn’t been so concerned with how the cage looked. Id also like to know why the producers rented all those tiny jeeps instead of cars that could accommodate the racers and crew. Some racers scored more points off the street tennis players hitting out of bounds than from good shots of their own. The street players had to be slower and more gentle than they were used to.
  6. Did Sara forget to take off the smock from hair and makeup?
  7. YES! I don't understand why no one considered fooling Tiff into playing her idol but voting out Q. There are other ways to flush an idol without voting the holder out. I had to miss the whole Applebees/tantrum bruhaha but I don't care enough to go back and watch it today.
  8. Danny and Mom were right back in it at the fish trap challenge. All they had to do was show a little hustle instead of taking their time trying to make it look pretty. (Because you all know crabs choose a pretty trap over an ugly one.) It's their own fault they were eliminated. Good work by the Amazing Editors to juxtapose Vinnie and Amber sniping at each other and Rod and Leticia being all supportive and loving. Even the editors hate V&A. Maybe it's a little boring that Ricky and Cesar keep winning (or showing up second), but it's refreshing to see a team perform so consistently well with so little drama. (Or are all the other teams just that bad?) I hope after such a strong race they will win. They've certainly earned it. I'm not sure. Juan and Shane were gassed by the time they finished. (Yes, they pushed extra hard to catch up.) I'm not sure Y&M could have pushed that wheel barrow several times through the sand quicker than they built the trap.
  9. Is this the worst cast ever? Jeff was practically flashing a neon sign saying “TIFF, PLAY YOUR IDOL!” and she ignored it.
  10. Yes! Watching an edited video doesn’t allow us to see what they can do. We need to see live performances. Plus the editing closes in on the dancers and often doesn’t give us a complete picture of their performances. It’s so disappointing.
  11. I’ve quit watching all talent shows except this one exactly for this reason. The moment the judges become more important than the contestants I lose interest. I originally figured Madison and Easton would be the final 2, but considering how scripted this is I’m thinking they’ll be pushing the Dakayla/Anthony romance for F2.
  12. Thanks for the review, Thousand!
  13. I hope there were several hundred more kids in the other room that wanted to carve turnips because that was a hella big pile of root vegetables. Please, writers, send Trixie to NY with Matthew. I’m sick of their issues.
  14. Yeah, I’m wondering if it’s worth signing up for Starz.
  15. Hee! That’s exactly what she looks like! (I do think she looks adorable… but not like a serious journalist.) I suppose when you are married to a doc you can get any Rx you want.
  16. Should be an interesting week for me. Mon: I bought tix to see Gaffigan in the fall. Tues: I like John Leguizamo. Wed: Like Whoopi I lost my only brother so I’d like to hear what she has to say. Thurs: I’m sure I read the book but I can’t remember it. Fri: Is this a reimagining of FotB?
  17. Imagine Jack Bauer saying, "Eh, I'll finish up tomorrow," and we get to watch him sleep for the next 8 episodes.
  18. These people who are grossed out by pet food in the fridge may have had an unfortunate incident where they mistakenly thought it was beef stew or something. Hilarity ensues. I had a Lume ad pop up on FB. 49% off for Mothers' Day. Just what every mom wants.
  19. This is what I love about this story. Despite the adversity Alexander found a purpose and a family.
  20. But the cat will get the summer home and the kid will end up with a train set.
  21. Who voted for Ben on the first vote?
  22. For me it was enough to see the look on Ishido’s face when he read the note and realized he was alone. Oops.
  23. Wow. Just wow. Vinnie, paraphrasing: (In the car) "You're terrible at everything. You can't do anything right. You're hurting the team." (Talking head) "I don't know why she thinks she's not good enough." It was painful to watch that abuse and browbeating. I almost turned the tv off. Hopefully after the race they never see each other again. On the other hand Cesar and Ricky continue to be delightful. Their singing (and dancing) was hilarious. Mom and Danny learned that they perform better without dragging extra teams with them. (See? Raaaaace!) And the firefighters are finally put out of their misery. (Also painful watching them try to navigate.)
