I burst out laughing at that. Perfect.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
Haleth replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
Ugh. It’s a pet peeve of mine when people use “drug” as the past tense of drag. Nope. -
Funny talking about international travel, just a little while ago a friend was saying her flight to Montreal has been cancelled a couple times because there isn’t enough airline traffic. I’d heard that before that the population of Canada would take over the House, in effect making the US another province. 👌

Fixed that for you.

That’s the point. There needs to be a record of official conversations. It’s the law. The irony is that Marco Rubio is the acting archivist for the National Archives. It’s his job to make sure everything is documented.

S37.E04: There’s No Addresses in the Jungle
Haleth replied to chitowngirl's topic in The Amazing Race
I bugs me when teams get so offended by another team using a legitimate means to put distance between them. As if Scott and Lori wouldn’t have done exactly the same. I mean, come on, don’t act so morally superior. In any case I hate race gimmicks that allow teams to impede others. This and the U-turn are terrible ideas. Just race using your own talents! Lori had an awful lot of straw pieces in her rice bag. She should have been told to go back and clean it up. Yeah, in retrospect John and Ana wasted the express pass. The rice threshing wasn’t nearly as time consuming as it sounded; that is, if you weren’t too meticulous about how much straw was left in with the rice. Thank goodness the bickering girls are gone. They were dragging down the whole show.- 79 replies

Omigosh, I was bawling my eyes out. I so want Joe to win, but man, it’s going to be tough for him after revealing his relationship with Eva. The pained looks he was giving her, oh my, probably one of the most honest reactions anyone has had on this show. He is genuinely a good man, which unfortunately makes him vulnerable. There was a Bianca on the show? The only person I like on that tribe is Mitch so I didn’t care who was voted out. I like how the little green team came together after the massive Thomas blindside. I really like Kamilla and Kyle.

I’m disappointed in Jasmine Crockett. That was an unkind thing to say. I’m ok with her previous jabs at people who came after her but mocking someone in a wheelchair? Not good. (I’m surprised Sunny was unaware that Abbott is disabled.). Yeah, no one can just join a private group chat. There’s a screen shot of Goldberg’s acceptance into the group by Waltz. It’s pretty clear he mixed up Goldberg’s phone number with someone else, so this continued effort to blame the reporter for joining is ludicrous. They should be thanking him for his discretion until after the operation was complete.

It’s just pathetic at this point. The rotating cohost is not working.

It’s not whataboutism. It’s pointing out the utter hypocrisy of shouting from the rooftops, dragging her in front of committees for 9? hours, and the chants of “lock her up!” for something that didn’t exist. When it comes to a serious real security breech that endangered members of the military? Oh well, that was just a mistake. Oops. Let’s blame the reporter (who had more sense to be discreet than the amateurs in govt). This wasn’t the first time the group chat was used. Who knows how much damage has been done by their loose lips? One person on the chat was in Moscow at the time of this blunder, using an unsecured phone and an unsecured platform. Idiots.

I so agree the sexual assault was unnecessary. Alex’s storyline is cartoonish at this point. I’m expecting her to somehow end up being sold to Tim Dalton and that’s how she ends up in Boseman. When she took the job on the train I thought that was great for her character- learn the value of physical labor which she’ll need on the ranch. It could have ended with the train manager complimenting her on her hard work and giving her a bonus to help her get home, but no, she can’t have nice things. At least Spencer is on the right track. No pun intended. Teonna is Rainwater’s grandmother, isn’t she? I’m tired of her continued abuse too. I miss Helen and Harrison. The show is much less without them.

Allegedly it was national security advisor Mike Waltz. Oops. Even more incompetent and reckless is the fact they were using an unsecured platform in order to avoid record retention laws. How long have they been doing this and how do we know it hasn’t already been hacked?

Omigosh! They replaced Alyssa with a beautiful Great Dane. Can we keep him there? 🤣 But why no Sunny or Joy with Tamron?

Gaitok’s boss asked him a couple times if he has a killer instinct. Surely he will have some role in the shooting to come.

I think so too.

Excellent start. I was interested as to how they would characterize Mary. It may change but this Mary is quite demur and contrite.

S37.E03: Chaotic, Crazy, That’s What We’re Used To
Haleth replied to chitowngirl's topic in The Amazing Race
Courtney and Jasmin are sweet but manoman, it was painful to watch them struggle leg after leg. They were the only team that didn’t waste precious minutes with the Ninja task and they still came in last. It’s a big TAR fail when no team can complete a task. Production should have realized it was impossible and done something to make it a viable option. The origami reminded me of making paper animals with my grandpa when I was a kid. I think I could have done that pretty easily. -
Whew! Back to programming!

I’m in IN too. I understand people need to know about the tornados but it’s still frustrating.
-
Me too, willco, me too.

I’m counting on a recap here. It’s storming so the local weather folks have broken in to track it for the next 1/2 hr. 😕 They better be done before TAR.

Yeah, like I said, Shumer is out of ideas. He made a good argument for his vote but it should never have gotten that far. He and the leadership are sitting around wringing their hands and waiting for things change in 2 years.
-
Does anyone know what happened to Shenille/her family? She’s been gone a long time.
-
I see Sara got her acceptance to Hogwarts. Regardless of Shumer’s and others’ votes he needs to retire. The Dem leadership is old, tired, out of ideas, and 2 steps behind the Reps. They are hopelessly weak and need some new energy. The new NBC poll shows an only 20something % approval rating for Ds, way below Rs. At this rate there is no hope for the 2026 election.
