Erin Merryn was on Ed's show on MSNBC yesterday. She goes out of her way to be kind to the Duggars but she said yesterday that she's been in contact with the family since this story has broken, talking to them daily trying to help them through this - all the while telling them that they completely messed this up from the get go. That Josh should have been out of the house at the first report of trouble, and that all of them needed immediate therapy. I kind of have to give this to the Duggars, a wee bit, they went to the trouble of inviting her into their home to talk to the little ones so that they knew what to do and it seems like they really did want to tap their homeschooling network for her so that she could talk about Erin's Law and the ramifications of child predators within a family or close family relationships. I think that shows some remorse on their part - it's a shame that they didn't act on that in all ways. Of course, most of the points get taken away with Josh's employ at the FRC and JimBob and Michelle's horrific politicking, the arrogance and hypocrisy is astounding.

Anyone, ANYONE could have "tipped off" InTouch, most of the well informed folks in this group on PTV could have tipped off InTouch. Josh's hubris in casting stones, along with Michelle's with that robo-call are likely reasons that somebody finally lost their minds and started pointing the media at the FreeJinger website and the "Alice" posts. It was all there for anybody enterprising enough to contact all kinds of media outlets to get the truth of the family out. Or maybe, it was a matter of critical mass - enough people were pissed and contacting media that one of them the sources (InTouch) finally sent out a FOIA. It's beyond my understanding, how the Duggars managed to forget to cover the Sheriff's report when they went about getting records expunged. Clearly - there was no PR Crisis team on board until it was too late on that as well. Speaking of expunged records, is the Judge that's howling about the FOI release the same one that granted the record destruction in the first place? Because she has close ties to Huckabee.

Bah ha ha. Really NBC? We just all missed out on Charlotte's story on CNN for the last FOUR YEARS. Thanks Morning Joe, for making one of my favorite people, Harry Smith, look like an idiot, we know the end of the story. Jesus.

The problem is, why would watchers give two fucks about what Whoopi thinks in an election year when she tells her audience day in and day out that she doesn't give two fucks what they think?

Oh, I don't even watch this mess and from all the comments about the last year or so of episodes, I think it was totally in the can that Jill and Jessa were going to be spun off into a show of their own, that's why it was the first thing floated in the wake of the InTouch exposure of the truth. I think that explains the nostalgic mood of that Erica Hill interview episode as well, they were heading into big changes. I don't think it was on their radar at all that this was going to come out, their shock and hubris about it is too raw, in my opinion. I am however, incredibly curious about what back room deal was frantically penciled to get Josh to resign so quickly from the FRC. That first "hint" article was put up by InTouch on the 19th (a Tuesday), we now know that their FOIA request was dated the 15th (the previous Friday), I'm assuming that InTouch had the report in hand before they posted up the "hint" article.

Aside from events like this in the news, my biggest trigger is smell. Lawrence had the same psychologist on tonight, and neither of them are buying anything that the Fox and the Duggars are trying to sell. I would think that television big wigs would be fully cognizant that the jump in Megyn's numbers is a lot of folks tuning in to see a train wreck. Which is good for Fox, I'm not sure it translates into anything good for TLC, the overwhelming reaction all over the internet is disgust. That won't make people tune into TLC.

Watch out for Polly Pockets even if you have a child of the age that these are recommended for! A trip to Urgent Care to have some Polly Pocket accessory pulled out of the lass' nose was embarrassing, lol!

Dance Moms Spoilers: Abby is the Worst. Some More Again.
NextIteration replied to Rhondinella's topic in Dance Moms
Tee hee. We just won't mention that nationals virtually never occur in May in the first place either, right? Fakity fake fake fake. They'll have to re-brand one of the fake comps next season. -
You mean she didn't say that "it wasn't molestation, molestation"? Praise baby jeebus!

One of the precepts of the Catholic religion is that you go to purgatory and everyone left behind has to pray you into heaven - I might not have that quite right, but whatever understanding I had of the concept is what made me chuck it finally as a religion. I think people are wholly responsible for the wrongs they do (sins that they commit) and need to make them right of their own free will. For me, if there is a heaven and a god or an angel at the pearly gates that decides whether we stay or get sent to the other place, it should be based on the whole of our lives, whether our intentions were good and whether we made good on our promise to do better and make amends for our sins (the bad choices me made or bad things that we did).

That heathen psychiatric and psychological book the DSM V - puts the criteria at 16 for medical and insurance purposes. I'm sure that state statutes would define the age individually. It's probably not worth mentioning, but there is are some distinctions in names of the disorder based on the age that the perpetrator seeks or (brain bleach) "desires".

WTF with Joe's voter suppression screed? We're just supposed to pretend that Republican majority state legislatures aren't working furiously to come up with ever increasing difficult hoops to jump over to acquire state approved "voter IDs"? It's not just the folks of color affected, it's also the poor - remember Joe? You want Hillary to address income inequality? I guess that goes out the window when it comes to voting - sure would be nice if he had to get on a bus and transfer three times to spend four hours and $40 he doesn't have for a copy of his birth certificate, and then on another day jump on a bus and transfer four times to head on over to city hall to apply for and spend another $25 for a state sanctioned voter ID, all the while taking time away from his minimum wage job that doesn't cover time away. I'm not even addressing the elderly that may have a hard time getting their hands on a birth certificate in the first place. Shithead.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
NextIteration replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Gather up those babies and RUN Anna, RUN! I worry for her, her pregnancy and her little girl. This is beyond ugly, it was ugly before but this interview has shown it's uglier than I imagined. These people have no fucks to give about who they harm whilst they try to save the money train. Throwing the survivors of Josh's molestation under the bus is disgusting. There was simply no balance in that interview. -
So in conclusion, it's JimBob and Michelle that have identified three of the survivors that most figured out from the original horribly redacted police report on national teevee, after they failed to protect three of them after Josh supposedly self-reported about the first two. Does anybody really believe that everything that occurred was reported either time? (Originally, to the PedoStatie or in conclusion in the police report?) The lady that they showed and went after was the Chief of Police, who released the document after consulting with her AG. Yesterday, a second version of the report came out from the county Sheriff's Department - it was more of a summary so there were nowhere near the same amount of redactions.
