Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
NextIteration replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Oh dear, now I'm bawling, it's a good bawling though because they are all cleansing one way or anther. Massive hugs. ♥ To you and to everyone that else that has shared. There are indeed a lot of people that need to be punched in the face, for all of us. Me either, I only ever watch this shit accidentally anyways - or in retrospect way after the fact out of morbid curiosity, since the network really circled the drain. We don't have Hobby Lobby where I live, but I've been mentally boycotting them for quite awhile now, along with Chick Fil-A which just appeared in my state. Walmart is easy because - Costco and Target, it just gets hard when I'm boycotting Target. -
Personally I'm going to hell for this reaction... "this patriarchy bullshit is old as Moses' toeses" is what went through my mind. ::eyeroll::

Dr. Drew Clip I keep talking about the sketchy use of statute of limitation going on with this situation, Lisa Bloom talks about the legal aspects in her opinion at about 3:38, it appears that I'm not the only one that finds it sketchy. -

If you watch the clip of Santorum, his face says it all. A lot of people think that the grifter Huckabee is folksy and agreeable when he disagrees, but to me it's Santorum. I do not agree with any of his views on anything, but I've read enough about him and their struggles with their little girl that I respect him. He doesn't seem to engage in the hate mongering that Huckabee does. -
Not just cults, abusive relationships, wait, that is redundant. What I mean is that it doesn't have to be a cult, it can be a relationship of any sort.

::hides head in shame:: I didn't know! Anyways, the ridiculousness of referring to this mess as allegations after it was all confirmed and ahem, apologized for and admitted to.

Fox News Devoted Less Than Two Minutes To The Duggar Controversy Kurtz: "Allegations". Seriously? Allegations????? Eesh, I used to watch this guy's show on Sundays sometimes when he was on CNN.

Though the packages don't delve deep enough really, I find it interesting that Erica Hill has been assigned to do the packages that appear on NBC shows as well as the rolling MSNBC coverage. Thomas Roberts seems to be using the harshest terms, oft repeating molestation and mentioning the massive hypocrisy. I'm not a CNN viewer really - and I haven't watched the Dr Drew episode, but I have caught a couple clips of Don Lemon, he can barely contain his disgust - but that's Don Lemon, he's sort of always off the rails unprofessional to me - not that his disgust isn't entirely warranted on this topic. -
Yes, much like Catholics, but born again folks believe that you cannot be forgiven unless and until you invite Jesus into your heart. Catholics take care of the original sin right quick with a baptism. Funny story, one day a school friend asked me if I wanted to go to Pioneer Girls with her, as far as I could comprehend in 3rd grade I figured it was the same thing as my Brownie meetings or a Camp Fire girls meeting. Well no, it's a children's ministry thing and one of the leaders sat me down and took me through the paces of asking Jesus into my heart. Oh.my.gawd. When I got home and told my mom about my day - she positively FLIPPED out. Hastily made some nasty phone calls, one of course to my school friends mother - I was mortified. Heh, now that's a sin in the Catholic world. lmao. Move forward about 30 years, a very valuable person in my career network was an evangelical of some sort. I'm a recovered Catholic agnostic as an adult - and every single time we got together for work related stuff she would proselytize at me - talk about sins of the father the whole nine yards. I'd just try to chuckle and explain that there was no changing my mind, I had spent years thinking about this and for me religion is merely a function of culture and a way for people that don't understand things to have answers. We managed to stay friends just enough to work together to be on the same board, but boy I had to stop her for years from trying to go there with me. They sure don't like taking a polite no thank you for an answer.

It would take responsible people that would stop back stabbing each other every time one of their bright ideas didn't pan out.

But it would have been attempted a lot more successfully a week ago if a Crisis PR Team were immediately in place, they were smart enough to get the expunge order going last Tuesday, but almost everything since has been misstep. I think all the spin-off rumors are based off that Variety post from 9:00 a.m. edt this morning, they all have the old stale sponsor info in them. -
I was being silly... cause FIFA, and I probably should have said World football instead of American soccer. ;) Bella, I completely agree about the crisis management/JimBob and Discovery probably being at a loss.

Not for nothing but didn't the CPS reporting/check-ins come after the police report? So from 2006 - whenever Josh sued to have it closed, or get his name off some list or something that we'll never know because CPS stuff really should be private? -
How much cross-pollination with American soccer fans?

When was blanket training shown? CPS was involved it would seem before the show was made a series if my calendar reads correctly. -
Snort, what a week to be taped. FIFA, Duggars... tee hee.

That's a very late pick-up of what was reported in Variety this morning. These folks aren't very sharp are they? -

If it's true, that took all of two days. Wow. -
Someone found their binders and is happily feeding Gawker, lol.

@jenikait - "might be able to" is a far cry from filling in the bubble, and of course because I felt that way - he didn't muster a blip amongst the clown car. ;)

Waves at Prayer Closet! Just wanted to acknowledge my appreciation for the group and the stories and Maisie! Good show Wanderwoman! Both my kids have "issues" that I had to fight hard about and learn whole new vocabularies for and advocate, advocate, advocate. Bless you both!

They way it was reported here - meaning disappearing from our OnDemand or whatever brand menus, it seemed like it was Cable decisions and not a Discovery one because it was definitely not all at once, like you'd expect if it were a network decision. -
Yes, yes, yes. Huntsman is the very last sane Republican of the right age to run for POTUS. I was hoping he would do well in 2012, because I was honestly thinking I might be able to vote for him. Yes, Obama's leadership has disappointed me that much - and the obstruction in Congress is THAT miserable.

It's all beyond ridiculous and making my head spin anymore.
