  1. We shouldn't be "taking what we can get". That's the kind of excuse that has these white producers and writers continuously ignoring calls for diversity. Static Shock was a cartoon I loved as a kid and as a fan of Black Lightening I've been asking about a show for him for years. I hope his daughters are also included.
  2. I don't know why people keep saying this when the show had plenty of promo outside of the regular Fox channel prior to its premiere.
  3. My thing with Pitch is that most of the episodes were damn boring. Also Ginny as a African American woman would have her owe struggles I a sport that boasts a very white lineup and audience however none of that was ever a factor. the writers were too busy trying to be faux progressive while falling to the same old tropes by pushing her towards Mike.
  4. I watched Season's Greetings with the family. They laughed alot during the roof scene though my sister did mention the abrupt cutting of scenes and how some stuff played out offscreen.
  5. Yes VM is half Mexican though Brenda is not Latino. Maurice is Salvedoran/Nicaraguan while Sonny was raised by a Cuban mother. In recent years they've tried to portray Sonny like he's Italian with all the Italian cooking and good old days talk like racial and cultural tension didn't exist when Sonny was growing up. Of course theyes also portray Bensonhurst as some gay haven that was so accepting despite all the strict Catholics.
  6. I was visiting a family member who had Hallmark on in the background while doing housework. I saw about 20 minutes of Alicia Witt's movie and her acting was in worse in this one than it usually is. why was she making those faces and doing those horrible voices?
  7. The whole movie was about them learning their lesson about how selfish and greedy they'd become.
  8. I liked it. The party at the beginning wasn't good but I think the movie got much better after it.
  9. Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald was only half hispanic and that was pass dark hair people as ethnic casting. I never looked at his Miguel and thought hispanic. And Portuguese is still white. He's not ethnically ambiguous at all. He's white and he plays white characters.
  10. I heard about this movie a few months ago when they were still shopping around for a distributor. I assumed based on the plot it would end up on Lifetime or just VOD so I was surprised when it UPTv picked it up. But I think the movies on UP this year were less like the ones on Hallmark this year. I've been watching the channel since it was GMC so I remember when they only aired Christian movies and stage plays. Then they were showing alot of black family films many of which I enjoyed. then that lady came over from Hallmark and they seemed to be trying to be Hallmark-lite right down to also using Lacey Chabert and Candace Cameron. Now it looks like they're going in another direction again.
  11. I was a little confused as to why you listed Jesse Metcalfe as a "diverse" lead. I know Dean Cain is like a quarter Asian but Jesse is not mixed.
  12. Once I saw all their leads for their new Christmas movies were white in spite of the constant lip service of taking diversity seriously when they've scheduled movies for every Sat/Sun for 2 months, I decided not to watch. And from what I keep hearing here and a few other places I'm not missing a thing.
  13. I ended up watching Girlfriends of Christmas Past. It reminded me a little of John Tucker Must Die with the three ex girlfriends attempts to sabotage only making him look better. I didn't feel sorry for the ex he was an ass and all they did was highlight some of the stuff his new girlfriend would've eventually realized. And breaking up with a woman on a holiday is a jerk move. Though her family shouldn't have assumed he'd propose after only a year of them dating. Now their Taylor Swiftesque Christmas song was a little cringe worthy.
  14. Natalia Livingston talking to TheWrap about filming her GH rape scene vs the way the rape scene was filmed in Last Tango in Paris http://www.thewrap.com/last-tango-in-paris-general-hospital-natalia-livingston-rape-scene/
  15. Yep last I heard she was doing some project with Usher . Luckily for the most part she's stayed behind the screens instead of in front of them beyond one crappy Lifetime movie
  16. I heard she filmed a new movie for Hallmark recently too. It's supposed to premiere next year
  17. You forgot to add Kristina to the list of blondes as well. It's a sandy blonde but its still blonde. The show used to be mostly white brunette's which was no better. Women darker than olive skin usually don't last long or get much shine on GH. Just like how Sonny has all these kids and they all are by white women and played by white actors. Yet they used to try and make Sonny the representative of latinos on the show during Hispanic heritage month.
  18. I'm in the northeast and there hasn't been a true white Christmas in my area since I was a kid. Though a few years back we had a white Halloween one year.
  19. Christmas with the Andersons is on tomorrow and it looks good. Its been awhile since I've seen Christy Carlson Romano onscreen so I'm looking forward to that. On Sunday Up has Season's Greetings which involves a greeting card company. Has Hallmark ever done a movie like that? Its seems like an obvious plot for the Channel. Darcy Blake has the perfect job – she works for Harrington House, a successful greeting card company, in the editorial department. Writing heart-felt, meaningful copy for cards is very important to Darcy, especially at Christmas, which was important to her as a young girl. She realizes that she is a bit out of step with her fellow millennials but that is fine with Darcy. Everything is about to change when Andrew Harrington arrives at the company to take over from his grandfather and he has a very different view of the holidays
  20. But they keep stressing Ginny is bringing the Padres sold out games. We know in real life they have a hard time filling the stands but on the show we're told Ginny has bringing buts to the seats
  21. The only reason they seemed to hire Garret Clayton was because he looks like a knockoff version of Efron
